Save the spell- Combat over
Theleb swings his great axe at the singing goblin and hits him squarely in the back bringing him down with a solid thud.

A search of the area reveals a potion of resist energy (fire), wand of cure light wounds (24 charges), leather armor, masterwork whip, short sword, shortbow with 20 arrows, a brooch, disguise kit, jester's motley, pouch of broken glass shards, spell component pouch, horse choppers, and dog slicers.

"Ooh," says Xoricon, picking up the whip. He picks up the arrows as well.

"Ekkie, who were they?" he says to the bulge in the backpack.

MOLG// WOTW// Murder's Mark

The party travels down the hallway and see hallway turns and then comes to a 't' intersection. To the right the party sees what can be best described as an abandoned guard-post. The other direction reveals a square stone chamber stinks of feces, urine, and unwashed animal fur. Gnawed bones, rotting chunks of meat, and filthy piles of rags litter the room. There appear to be two makeshift kennels and the doors to the kennels are not closed...

OK, I don't know if I am using this right, but the basic idea is to try to make friends with the dog but using Handle Animal skill to "push" a "Come" trick.

MOLG// WOTW// Murder's Mark

Leepo understands the canines are hungry, looking as if they have not eaten in a few days. She understands that might be the cause of their aggression. One of the smaller dogs takes a few steps closer to Leepo with the come trick, however the larger dog growls menacingly and the smaller dogs back away.

The party advances along the hallway and after a series of turns come to a large room. Two rows of pillars support the arched roof of this long hall. At one end stands a makeshift throne constructed from the broken remains of a smashed statue and other cracked blocks of masonry.
