Desna, if I ever needed a steady hand and true aim....

He draws a bead on Krune's neck with no remorse about dropping him.

I look at Krune and strike with my still arcane energized blade using both hands while simultaneously using a bit more of my arcane reserves.
2 handed LS attack with Shocking Grasp: 1d20 + 4 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 4 + 3 + 1 = 12

LS Damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12

Shocking Grasp: 2d6 ⇒ (1, 3) = 4

two handed LS attack with SG still charged on the blade and pulling another point from Arcane Pool. I am not sure if everyone moved, so its hard to see if I qualify for a flank attack bonus, so I did not include it.

The Archons engage the likely butcher of Dawton!

Eloriand swipes at the villain but the nimble knife fighter is able to duck the attack.

Kat draws a bead and and is able to wing Krune, drawing blood from a grazing wound on his shin.

The party hears a soft chuckle but is unable to tell where it is coming from.

Krune, seeming more emboldened rather than intimidated, presses his attack on Tarek but Tarek's armor once again does its job.

Isador takes aim, but his arrow flies wold missing the mark, thudding into a wooden wall of the building across from him.

Tarek takes a step back and draws upon his mysterious divine power. He looks to Caoilte as he builds the energy from the spell. Casting time for enlarge person is 1 round so it will go off at beginning of Tarek's turn next round.

Havelock attempts to strike Krune, but his swing misses the mark.

Caoilte then on to round 2!

Caoilte won't get any bonuses to his attack from being enlarged(insert wise comment). The +2 to strength and the -1 to attack for fighting smaller targets should negate each other. He may also have a net -2 to AC because of the change. The bonus is that his weapon should do 2d6 damage and he can apply extra strength damage. His increased size and strength will also give him bonuses to performing combat maneuvers. He should also be able to hit targets 10 feet away because of his reach. He can now invoke the power of Hulkamania.

The Pathfinders press the attack as Erika and Sheriff Luin do their best to keep the wild crowd at bay.

Eloriand slashes the deft knife fighter, causing a deep red line to ooze blood from his forearm. The man curses but his smile grows wider.

Kat tries to clip the villain but her shot is wide of the mark, the arrow flies into the crowd causing thee gathered throng to grow event more agitated.

Krune reels from ELoriand's slash, but he shakes his head and smiles. The wound seems to close of its own accord. Grinning, he presses his attack on Tarek. This time, the agile knife wielder finds a weakness in Tarek's armor. He stabs the aasimar in the ribs! Tarek takes 4 damage.

Isador again tries to draw a bead on the frantic assailant but is unable to get a clear shot through the melee. His arrow once again thuds in the door to the eastern building.

Tarek unleashes his divine might causing a cascade of shimmering energy to rain upon Caoilte. The axe man shudders and begins to grow in size, quickly growing to the size of an ogre!

Brew, trying to get an understanding of our situation and not sure if I am seeing it played out the way it was intended.

I take it that Tarek convinced the Mayor and Erika that all Pathfinders are innocent but had little success with the crowd. I am guessing the crowd wanted our blood for the recent deaths and when Krune attacked Tarek they got fired up. Are the Mayor and Erika are keeping the crowd at bay to prevent them from siding with Krune?

I was seeking clarification because I am trying to determine how Tarek should act. I am uncertain of what will happen if Krune lives or dies and what either outcome may have on the crowd and our situation

The Archons continue to battle the smiling man. Isador misses the mark but Eloriand slices the rogue across the chest with a nasty wing of the long sword. Tarek will sheath his weapon and examine the fallen Chelaxian. If he is still alive, Tarek will use his divine powers to stabilize him. If he is dead, Tarek will examine him for any unusual markings or symbols.

If the man is obviously dead and there is clearly nothing of interest on his person, Tarek will use his wayfinder to detect evil

Did anyone hear laughter a moment ago? It sounded as if someone was mocking us

Tarek sheathes his weapon and examines the fallen Krune. The oracle notes that he is wounded and bleeding but not dead. Tarek stabilizes him, stopping the man from bleeding out.

Kat searches the crowd for further signs of trouble, but does not see anything that she considers a threat.

After Krune falls, the crowd's fervor begins to subside and Luin and Erika are able to cease their efforts to hold back the crowd. The party is able to determine the crowd was not after them but more in a panic due to Krune's attack.

Luin and Erika approach the group. Luin nods to Tarek We'll take it from here Pathfinder. I am sure this fella here will have answers for us about all these killings around here. Thank you, for taking him down and showing us the error of our ways. I'll have a guard take you to your friends, they are free to go back to the Spire wit ya. Erika, you will find that a great many of the "truths" we cling to are only correct from a certain point of view. Pride and personal prejudices can cloud the mind and manipulate one into making erroneous conclusions. I have no doubt that some residual evil or force from the third crusade lingers around here and is playing a evil influence.

We all screw up and fall down and you certainly have in this case. The important question is, what are you going to do about it? The real testament to your character and who you are will be in the manner in how you get back on your feet after this, and what you do henceforth. [b]

Looking around, I keep my spatha unsheathed, not wishing to completely lower my defenses.

Tarek watches Erika as she struggles with the Mayor's decision and waits for the proper moment to speak. I do not know why you carry such ill will towards the society. I am not sure how you have been wronged, but I assure you we are not here to do evil deeds. I could have let Krune die, but I feel he has been manipulated just as you have been. I hope he can shed some light as to why he killed those people and if he was doing the bidding of another. Evil wears many faces and they are not always easy to see. I am sure there are some Pathfinders who have dark hearts and desires but as a member of the Silver Crusade, I wish only to do good works as best as I can. There are members of Iomedae that have joined the ranks of the Silver Crusade and it may be good if you spoke to some of them. Ollysta Zadrian is the founder of the Silver Crusade and often lends aid in support of the Mendev Crusaders. Do not let prejudices cloud your judgement. Open your eyes and truly see what has happened here in Dawnton. Tarek removes his wayfinder from his pouch The Crusade has given me a special gift. It allows for evil to be detected within a short distance. If there is evil near then it will surely point the way Tarek turns in a 360 trying to detect any signs of evil

Isador, his face showing relief at the fallen assailant and hearing that his fellow Pathfinders will be set free, lets out a long sigh of relief. He glances towards Erika but does not speak to her.

Erika's eyes hold back tears as she listens, attentively, to Tarek's words. Drawing on his knowledge of the Iomedean faith, as well as building on the actions of the Archons displayed while in Dawton, he explains to Erika that her actions have not been in keeping with the teachings and tenants of the Inheritor. Erika looks down at the gravely wounded by stabilized Krune, then back to Tarek. My heart believes you, Pathfinder, though my mind resists. I am no servant, no advocate, of Our Lady Iomede, if I cannot suffer to have my faith tested and resolve to examine myself. Your words, aasimar, have not only swayed me but perhaps saved me as well. Come, it is time I began to set things right.

Erika leads the party, with Luin in tow, to the mayor's residence. Wordlessly, she removes a set of keys from Luin's belt and walks into his home directly to the basement. Erika, smiling as if a weight has been lifted, opens the doors to the cells of the Pathfinder and personally delivers them to the Archons.

The small agents whoops with delight, their eyes most with tears of joy, as they join the party's fellowship. Corwin walks up to Havelock I tell ya, I was losing faith there for a bit. But you did it, you all did. Thank Erastil, you came through! The halfling cannot help but break into into laughter You did it. Thank you, thank you all for all that you have done. I will be certain Jorsal knows what you did today. Hells, I'll make sure everyone knows! The three former captives gather among the party and take turns congratulating and thanking everyone in turn.

Erika sidles up to Tarek This...is a good start, but not enough. If you would allow it, I would accompany you back to the Starrise Spire. I intend to pledge my service, indefinitely, to the Pathfinder Society to join in the cause against the Worldwound. I can think of no better way to begin my penance. I am certain that you will be welcomed at the Spire but I also expect they will ask many questions. I am curious to know who's voice you were hearing? Erika lowers her head and shakes it softly from side to side. I..I...cannot be sure of anything anymore. I will seek the counsel of my church and ensure the Society that I am fit for duty once we reach Nerosyan. You have my vow, Pathfinder. I will atone for Dawton. Erika gives the freed agents a solemn look, then sets about to prepare for the return with the agents.

Even the stoic venture-captain cannot hide a wide grin upon seeing his agents, alive and well, in the company of the Archons. The group is hurried inside where they are served an extravagant feast of roast duck, pig and assorted fruits. Wine and ale is poured freely and the agents are left turly enjoy themselves and unwind for the evening. In the morning, though not at the customary dawn, the agents are summoned to Jorsal's study. The VC warmly greets the group.

I am happy to see my good friend Vaslin's judgment is as sound as ever. He did not exaggerate your collective prowess. On the contrary, he may have undersold your abilities. Thank you, and behalf of our Lodge. We will not forget the task you have accomplished and the lives you have saved. I would extend our celebration together, but alas, we must cut it short. I have received word this morning that your presence is once again needed in Absalom. I received this message just before dawn, but... He gives the party a sly glance I misplaced it for a few hours. Safe travels agents. I hope to work with you again in the future. The wizened VC gives the Archons a respectful bow and they are dismissed. Walking to the pier with my kit, I smirk. You know, I still really don't like that Jorsal guy.

The Archons, weary from their experience in Dawton but eager to return to their home base, board an impressive vessel to carry them south down the Sellen River back to the Kortos Isle. A well kept and brisk man greets them as their captain and ensures them of an uneventful journey home. The captain tells the party that they are to relax and recoup on the voyage and to let himself or the crew know of anything they may need.

The Archons, fresh from their latest success in war torn Mendev, are given a few days R&R to recoup from the mission. On the third day, at the crack of dawn, familiar page rousts the agents from their various rooms at the Pig's Paunch. Sheepishly, he hands each agent in turn a note enclosed in the seal of Venture-Captain Ambrus Vaslin. The note is short, thanking the agents for their latest success and asking them to report immediately to the Grand Lodge where Venture-Captain Alissa Moldreserva has an urgent mission for the Archons to attend.

The party quickly assembles their things and meets in the common room of the Paunch. They quickly make their way to the Grand Lodge where they are escorted into the great meeting hall where the aforementioned Venture-Captain Moldreserva awaits them.

Venture-Captain Alissa Moldreserva, a fiery red-headed woman who climbed from the depths of Galtan revolution to become one of the Society’s finest (and most well-connected) venture- captains, stands in the great meeting hall of the Grand Lodge in Absalom. She stares down her hawkish nose and sighs. I ask for the best and they send me you. Lucky me. The Society’s best contact in Osirion, Grand Ambassador Dremdhet Salhar, informed me this morning that his lovely Chelish wife, the Lady Anilah Salhar, was kidnapped and sold into slavery.

Normally, I wouldn’t care a bulette’s eyeball about who was or was not enslaved in Absalom, but Salhar is the Society’s best avenue for acquiring all of the necessary official paperwork to make our frequent delves into the tombs of Osirion cheap and legal. This is a relationship we want to preserve and since the Ambassador made it clear that our status is in jeopardy, I’ve been instructed to send our best agents to find her and return her safely to Salhar.

I guess you’ll do.

Salhar hasn’t sat idle since his wife was taken—his own agents are prowling the streets and dug up one possible lead. A one-eyed Andoren, a grit junky named Fredrik, is known for selling or helping to sell nobility into foreign markets that desire house slaves. Being enormously illegal, this trade makes Fredrik a fair bit of coin that Salhar’s agents assure me all go straight into the pockets of the Second Chance, a grit den dockside in Puddles. That’s all I have to get you started. Go quickly. The fate of our Osirian exploits is in your hands.

Tarek, still a bit sleepy, blinks and looks at the venture captain and then at his companions. Well Archons, it looks like we are called again to save the world. Tarek then speaks to the venture captain I am ready to move out as soon as I gather my gear. Are there any restrictions to how we are to recover Lady Salhar? I just need to be sure there won't be any issues if we leave a few bodies in our wake or if we are supposed to maintain some level of stealth? I am not very fond of slavers and have little concern with how we deal with them.

While a bit owly there is a bite of venom underlying Kat's terse Agreed. A bit quieter she adds When in doubt, kill them all.

Eloriand, unimpressed with the Venture-Captain's ra-ra speech, nodded his head in acknowledgment and wondered if it was a requirement to be an a$$hole before reaching that rank.

Alissa regards Tarek coldly, looking him up and down with a stony demeanor. She speaks through a tight frown I leave your methods in your sound discretion. Vaslin has assured me you all are of the highest competence.

Hmmm, why bless your heart Venture Captain Alissa, it is nice to see more senior leaders in our organization that openly express support of the mission command concept.
Pausing for a moment, my brows arch up and I nod. Oh and Ae-Dee-Ate agrees as well.

Not used to the ebony blade communicating with me still, I nod to old prune juice lips and run through a mental checklist of supplies and items to bring with for the voyage.

Caoilte smiles. Izzy, somebody said we were competent. Obviously they don't know you very well or El's archery exploits either. Speakin' of which, El have you learned to throw your arrows yet cause you're not quite making it happen with that bow. Caoilte, pleased with his own humor, loses interest and looks around for something to eat

Tarek arches an eyebrow at Havelockk's comment
I know it is early but have you been spending too much time in the sun or eating strange mushrooms? Who are you talking about?

Isador watches the red headed captain as she delivers her speech but loses interest in her once she makes it clear that she does not value the group's skills.

Well, I see that we are still being undervalued by our leadership but even they cannot argue with our results.

He bows slightly at Caoilte's joke.

Yes, our skills were less then stellar on our last outing so I guess we are due for greatness on his outing. He grins widely.

Okay, I have all my gear ready. Let's get moving, daylight is burning.... well, maybe in a hour or so when the sun actually comes up

After listening patiently to the party members, Alissa bows her head slightly giving the Archons the distinct impression of being dismissed. The group prepares to embark on the search for the mission Osirion bride.

The party may make purchases before embarking on their first lead.
