Going to go ahead...

The meeting in Absalom with Drandle Dreng nearly a month ago was brief, as always. “I have a routine mission for you, though a dangerous routine mission,” the old man whispered in the great hall in the Grand Lodge. Suffering from a cold and weak from lack of food and rest, the old venture-captain looked quite possibly the worst you’d ever seen him.

Through wracking coughs he explained, “An ally of ours in the Land of the Linnorm King —Rognvald Skagni—is writing a lengthy report on the state of government in the northern countries of Avistan. I received a letter from him just yesterday requesting several key documents from the vaults here to help him finish the report.” Venture-Captain Dreng patted a large, heavy-looking chest next to him. “These are the documents, and I need you to board a ship north to deliver them to Skagni.”

Dreng tried to stand at that point, but a fit of coughing sent him back into his seat. He gestured for a well-dressed, impeccably kept man standing in the shadows of the room to approach and whispered raspy orders to him. The man picked up a small pouch and a large key and handed them both to the party. “Venture-Captain Dreng is unwell, as you can see. He wished me to give you this key and this pouch of gold. The key opens the chest, and the gold will buy you passage and get you from the Linnorm coast to Trollheim, where Skagni resides. Whatever you do, do not let the chest out of your sight and do not, under any circumstances, allow it to be searched. These documents are for Mr. Skagni’s eyes only. Are we understood?”

Dreng’s nameless servant waited for a reply and then smiled. “Good. Now run along; Venture-Captain Dreng needs his rest.”

As any keleshite should be, Sothy was a bit overwhelmed with a perspective of travelling north. He purchased a cold-weather outfit, snow shoes and backfire clay, leaving him with a burning hole in his pocket. But he wasn't afraid about that, since Pathfinders usually were quite generous and he got quite big amount of gold for completed missions previously. This one looked as boring and long, but not the dangerous one.
Most part of sea journey he spent sitting on big chest and looking at waves or training parrying blows with Chukka.

A lithe cat-woman in a black leather bodysuit enters the room and sits herself down in a nice corner, her tail coils around her waist, her downy skin bearing a clear tiger mottling.

"Scarlet - jongleur, cat burglar" she purrs softly.

Other than the crossbow dumped on her bag at the door, she appears to be unarmed.

"You need something hidden and do not wish it searched, so strange you would summon me for such a task" she giggles gently to herself, her eyes wander to the Tengu.

Once they leave, Scarlet likewise gets cold weather gear and snow shoes. She also asks about to see what the word on the street is about the frozen north and the pending expedition.

A pleasant looking, yet thoroughly average, man stands at the back of the group. Dressed in non-descript garb that seems to match everyone else's clothes, standing average height for a human and of a medium build, he is the sort of person you would never notice in a crowd. Heck, you might not notice him if he was standing alone in the middle of the street on a sunny day! And even if you did notice him, you would certainly never remember any detail about him, nor recognize him again unless you tried really hard...

"Well, let's get on with it then. Seems we're a group, now. Name's Henri, by the by. Pleased to meetcha!" He then looks at the wayang and says, "Good to travel with you again, Mogall!"

"My name is Sothy" introduced himself big guy, "and I am the one who likes to mix coctails and drink them. But I heard they have some quite strong liquor in the north, so I am eager to try... Liquor and bar brawl would be nice to said that I visited Lands of Cold Stuff"
He looked at Mogall: "Oh, you are Mogall the Wizard... I heard your name somewhere. I do actually have several scrolls after my last mission. I do not understand much in this arcane stuff, unless it is in drinkable form, but if you need them - I am ready to borrow them to you. If they are not used and we got some gold for magical ink, I might translate them into potions, but for now - keep them."
I bough some scrolls to use them as backup resource and then discovered that alchemists cannot use scrolls. Please add: scroll of reduce person, scroll of shield, scroll of stone fist, scroll of true strike - to your resources for now

A small gaunt creature huddles within the shadows of it's cloak. Pulling his hood back just enough to reveal a dark gray Wayang face marked by raised geometric patterned scars as he comments dryly "Ah, My life goal is at hand delivering documents to the frozen north. At least there will be more darkness up there."

Glancing up at Sothy,"Yes I am Mogall. I would borrow gladly your scrolls, if fate is kind to our journey they shouldn't be needed."

It's an uneventful journey to the land of the Linnorm kings, with the cold gradually increasing to unpleasant, button dangerous, levels. As ever the last part of the journey is hardest, moreso because Dreng has scribbled a note with directions that turns out to be near-illegible.

At long last, the party manages to notice its destination.

Where the directions indicate Skagni’s house should be stands only the charred husk of a burnt-out building. Bits of burnt timber and ruined furniture lie scattered about, but if anything remained after the fire, it seems to have been picked over and looted. Though most of the walls are blackened with soot, a patch along the former front of the residence still shows relatively clean, white walls. Smeared across those white walls, written in reddish-brown letters four feet tall, are the words, “Pathfinders go home.”

The cat-burglar looks for any nearby cover from which to safely approach the ruin as she grips her crossbow - trees, bushes, anywhere she might need to dive for cover in an emergency.

The jungle lord rams away at the thus, quickly bringing down the first two, and bringing the last one on the breach of unconsciousness. Slate then charges in and finishes off the last of the thugs.

Searching the thugs raises more questions than answers. The leader carries two notes: one from a 'Hjort' and another from a 'Runa'. (See handout).

Scarlet encounters a man at the local fish market: “I heard about an Ulfen warrior named Hjort—don’t know his family name—who came here a while back after his entire village was slaughtered on the Arcadian coast. People say his rage toward the Pathfinder Society burns bright, as they were the ones who slaughtered his people—a people, I heard, that he was destined to be the jarl of. Those traditional warriors from the coast are serious brutes—I wouldn’t want to be one of their targets.

The adventurers try to find a lead to Hjort and Runa, but they ask around for hours in the frigid colds of Trollheim. Finally, they find a piece of info on Runa from a boy that was trying to pickpocket Chukka: A dark-haired Chelish woman, family name of White, has been seen about the market recently. She’s hiring mercenaries and low-life thugs for Gorum-knows- what. If you’re looking for her to right some wrong, I’d bring a dozen more of you—she was cornered in one of the market’s darkest corners by some of Trollheim’s biggest miscreants, and just when they thought they had gotten the drop on her, she called to her god and blasted them with holy fire. She’s tough, that one, and not someone I’d mess with.”

Spending the night at a local inn, the group continues the next morning, but not after they have gotten some info form the innkeeper “Yeah, I know those two. They approached my friends and me and offered us a ridiculous sum to work for them. No way was I going to work for a washed-up Ulfen warrior and a foreign she-devil from the south. Hjort’s eyes told all the story I needed to know: he wasn’t doing whatever he was doing for profit—he was doing it for revenge. That business has only one path, and it leads straight to Pharasma’s ample bosom. And Runa? Well, she’s a foreigner, ain’t she?”

Being a foreigner in Trollheim is hard, and it takes another day before the next clue comes up, another potential recruit of Hjorth and Runa: “Can’t say as I remember the name of the place, but when they tried to hire my cousin, they told him to meet them at some hole in the market. You’d best do your poking around there and stop pestering the peaceful folk of Trollheim before they decide to yank your entrails out from your mouth and strangle you with them.”

Then, finally after three day, someone seems to the names:

“Hjort and Runa, you say? Yeah, I know ‘em. I drink a beer and punch a guy in the face every night down at the Horned Helm, and they’ve been there for weeks—months maybe. I tell ya, that Hjort can throw a punch, and don’t get Runa started about religion—she’s likely to talk about it long enough it starts a fight and the way she ends fights ain’t fair, ain’t right, and just ain’t normal. Runa is a dark-haired woman from Cheliax, and Hjort is a large brute with red hair, a red beard, and a scar across his left cheek.”

"I suppose it is off to the Horned Helm then, we need to pick our targets carefully too - perhaps Henri and I move to position to try cut down this Runa from the shadows quickly should things go awry?

Idea is that we dont all go in the front door, but rather we try get some sort of jump on the bad guys - or nail them one fine evening when they step outside...!

"Ah - a snatch and grab mission...and surprise is the key. How about the "Han & Chewie" ruse?" Henri asks, and when he sees blank stares, he continues, "Oh, sorry. Forgot I'm the only Adeptus Astartes here and you don't know our missions. So basically, we pose as a group of thugs, bearing these notes, and escorting one of our biggest warriors who we have 'captured' and are returning for the reward. Maybe Scarlet, Sothy and Chukka can have Zlata in poorly tied ropes as the expedition leader. Mogal and I can hide in the shadows of the place and be your overwatch - the 'surprise element' if you want. That should let you get close, and with all of your weapons, while ghost-boy and I provide ranged support. Whaddya think?"

The Horned Helm is a low-slung, two-story building of questionable construction leaning heavily over a shoddy corner of mud and brick in the dankest, filthiest parcel of land in all of the market. It has no windows, as they’ve all been broken and boarded over; its only door looks like a simple plank of wood covered in scratches, burns, and probably blood stains. Noise, heat, and smoke pour out from under that door and rise to a staggering crescendo of laughter as the door swings lazily open and two bodies are unceremoniously dumped into the rutted, frozen mud streets outside. A battered sign hangs above the door, swinging on two chains, one shorter than the other. It bears the faded image of an Ulfen helm with two ridiculously large horns.

Love the attempts at formulating a ruse... I've put up a map.

Hey, that guy said "I drink a beer and punch a guy in the face", and this is totally my type of place. What can go wrong there? Sothy didn't objected the plan, since it is always better to punch a guy in the face, when your own back is covered.
