For the Glory of the Veskarium! Docking Bay 3-3

Yargos turns to the Asarnil and says, "Well, my good elf, that is an excellent question! Nessian is the top dog, so to speak, of the War Hounder gang. As to his whereabouts, I am sadly I'll informed to provide such information. He never invited me over for tea, you understand." Yargos chuckles to himself at the 'top dog' joke.

Yargos points to the captured thug, "He may be a better source of the information you desire than I."

Unless there are other questions at this time for Yargos, we can go ahead with the interrogation portion...:)

Asarnil scowls at Yargos and growls:"Oh... don't worry about him... his time will come pretty soon..." that said he turns towards the defeated thug and moves towards him. As an afterthought he adds:"Would you please unchain this sorry bunch, please? It seems we just saved their skins so we already reached our do gooder quota for this month, I don't think we should keep them from their well deserved brandy... I'm sure in a couple of weeks this will stop from being a bad memory and they will somehow turn it into some kind of grand adventure..."

Barret turns to Yargos as an afterthought Perhaps you should be more careful of the company you keep, he sort of sighs out rather than full out says, In the spirit of that, perhaps you shouldn't make your abode in the Puddles, eh? He will then go to the same thug as Asarnil and crouch down to him Ok, look friend, I don't wish to hurt you anymore, and in the spirit of that I'm allowing you a chance to answer our questions freely. he will then point at Wyatt But this guy? This guy doesn't give a damn if he breaks ever bone in your face, which I admit makes it hard to answer questions. He will gently slap the man's cheek a couple times Now, can we PLEASE be civil and speak like adults?

Time for some good-cop/bad-cop :-P

For the Glory of the Veskarium! Docking Bay 3-3

The revived thug moans and grumbles, "My name is Ravi. Emmett told us to go to the Soggy Piper and pick up that old man, and anyone he was taking to, and toss um off the Maw." He shrugs. "So, there's that. What's it to you?"

Grand Lodge

Wyatt arches an eyebrow.

"...and whom, exactly, is, or was, Emmett?"

Kyra listens to Yagros with attention. She keeps thinking in front of him once her companions go to attend the thug.

Thoughtful she asks "Yagros... there is something you said... you said it was the Binding Word compel these thugs to come here and try to kill you. Why do you think that? How do you think the Binding Word is related to this event?"

The cleric keeps close to Yagros sure the other pathfinder will make the word of where and whom is Nassiel out of the thug.

For the Glory of the Veskarium! Docking Bay 3-3

Ravi says, "Emmett? He's like...the boss, ya know? He gets word from Nessian that something needs doin', he rounds us up and we do it. Ya follow? Believe me, after watching her push Lukas off the Maw, I'd tell ya if I knew where to find Nessian."

Yargos tells Kyra, "The Binding Word is a powerful magical oath the Black Echelon and the Silent Tide took, swearing their lives to completing the will of the Taldan King. It would seem that oath was powerful enough to keep these souls from the Boneyard."

Yargos listens to Ravi as well, and offers, "I know an information broker that probably can put you on the right track to finding Nessian's whereabouts if this small fish can't help you."

For the Glory of the Veskarium! Docking Bay 3-3

Yargos shakes his head, "The precise wording of the Oath? No my dear, that has been lost to time I believe. The Black Echelon where not hiding anywhere, they've been dead in the ground for hundreds of years!"

Barret will cross his arms and glare at Yargos As well, I don't have the funds to pay this information broker, so how do you propose we persuade him to part with this information?

For the Glory of the Veskarium! Docking Bay 3-3

"I know there is a master abort signal in the codebook, if we can find Nessian and obtain the book we can put an end to this threat permanently. The broker is known as Grand Master Torch, and I have some information I can perhaps trade him for anything he knows about Nessian." Yargos says. "Grand Master Torch... such a grandiose name for a petty information broker hiding in the Puddles... very well, I suppose we just need to deal with the survivors here and then we shall be on our way... luckily for us they provided us with the perfect method to dispose of people who know too much..." Asarnil finishes his speech by giving the two thugs a nasty glare...

Note that Asarnil doesn't really want to throw them down the cliff, he's just trying to scare them silly for hurting him (and, worse, ruining his robe)

"Let's just be on our way. I am sure that they have learned their lesson, and they will be distracted enough with caring for their incapacitated friends. That said, if we come across them again, I am sure that we could arrange a far more permanent solution..."

Indeed, I doubt it is his birth name Barret agrees with Asarnil. He then turns to Yargos, lead the way Mr. Yargos. If I understand you correctly, we are on a kind of time limit and I have no plans on living in an undead filled city. He checks to see his rapier is clear in its scabard

Asarnil raises his eyes to the sky but just adds:"Yes old man... this is your great chance! Lead us to this Grandmaster of yours. It could be the beginning af a new grand adventure!"

For the Glory of the Veskarium! Docking Bay 3-3

The Pathfinders and Yargos file out of Torsen's Maw, headed back into the dreary muck of the Puddles. After ten minutes of walking, Wyatt and Asarnil notice a pulse of red light from atop a tower deeper in the city, the Coins or the Foreign Quarter maybe.

Yargos looks for a moment, then his eyes grow wide in horror! "No. No. No. No. Nessian!" shouts Yargos, shaking his head. "He’s signaling Black Echelon—the undead! Six flashes of red—I remember that signal... By the gods! That’s the granary! Nessian has sent those monsters to poison the granary! C’mon! I don’t know how, but we’ve got to stop them—we’re the only ones who know what’s happening."

Kyra press her lips having a hard time to take a decision "Oh no! That's horrible! I think we have to try find a definitive solution to this. Let's check with that Torch first."

The cleric looks at the others to see what they think about before resuming walking.

Wyatt shrugs.

"Torch isn't going anywhere, whilst they are poisoning the granary now; shouldn't we try to sort that out first?"

Barret's eyes set grimly I agree. The posh of Absalom may survive the granary being poisoned, but the rest of the city will feel under siege. We should go put out this fire and then find Nessian, with or without Torch's help. His eyes have taken a steely resolve, recognizing that his quarry may escape, but knowing all too well the pang of hunger during a siege

Asarnil gets suddenly serious as Yargos describes the undead plague Nessian has unleashed on Absalom, for a moment he looks torn, then he turns his head towards the others, resolve shining in his eyes :"I suspect we could do worse than catching up with these undead. I wish to see them for myself, so we'll know what we are dealing with. And who knows... maybe we won't need the help of this Torch fellow if they limp back to their master once we have beaten them"

Perhaps Asarnil isn't as jaded as he would like others to think after all...

As the Pathfinders approach the granary, you notice an eerie cold fog has suddenly descended on the adjoining streets and alley ways.

When you finally reach the massive granary, the massive wooden doors appear to have been forced open. There are three dead bodies laying on the ground in front of the smashed door!

Cautiously moving into the antechamber, the Pathfinders see the eastern doors to one of the grain silo areas open. The blood trail leads that way, and through the open doors you can see much of the floor is covered in a sea of grain. Treat each square marked with grain as difficult terrain. The 10-foot-high ceiling is covered with flow hatches (marked on the map as white squares). When opened, grain from the upper levels pours down to refill the grain supply on the lower level. The levers are kept just out of normal reach, but could be activated by jumping and grabbing it or with something that extended your normal reach. The northern wall and the western wall are open to an adjacent silos.

"Seems like someone bled his way inside here... that and I think we have better empty all the grain we can before stepping in. I suspect it could be poured down directly on our heads..."

Asarnil uses mage's hand on the hatch in front of him

Grand Lodge

Male Elf DEAD

Wyatt raises an eyebrow.

"Good idea, but don't silos generally contain literally tonnes of grain? I daresay we could fill the room with what is up above, and that would make it mighty difficult to maneuver down here - I, for one, don't have any experience swimming through grain..."

For the Glory of the Veskarium! Docking Bay 3-3

Asarnil uses mage hand to release one of the levers, but as Wyatt mentioned, the grain seems to fall without end. After watching it pile up on the floor for a few seconds, Asarnil again uses mage hand to close off the flow.

You do notice that it falls pretty directly under the spot of the shoot with great force. Standing under one and opening it would probably be a terrible idea.

As she enters the fog cloud, everything about her perception seems to slow down and she feels as though every heartbeat is an eternity!
