With one hand on her blaster grip, she reaches out to the door and presses the console, intent on moving swiftly inside if it was clear.


Val and '5':
The door opens with a slight creak, into a shabby reception area. A single desk and chair, mostly unused, blocks your way to another door. A second door is to your right, the grimy floor showing signs that this door was used the most.

Val sweeps the room with her blaster, when she's sure nothing is moving she glides to the other door, again opening it with one hand as she holds her blaster ready with the other. She moves through if it's clear.

5 and Val are a good team as we can both see in the dark :D

Sighing with annoyance, Valkyr uses a claw to pop off the access plate, squinting at the circuitry inside and muttering to herself

Twisting two pins of a chip free of the circuit board, she retrieves a small magnetic clamp from her climbing kit and touches it to the exposed wires. A hum followed by several dull thunks follows, and the red light above the access panel blinks off before coming back on again.

She grins at 5

Scratching her comlink she tight-beams a broadcast to the rest of the team

I just caused a feedback loop in the security door lock system, which should open every electronic lock on the same electrical power supply, which is hopefully everywhere in the compound. You've got about fifteen minutes before it resets, but that should be long enough to do what needs doing. See you on the other side...

She stows the Comlink and with a nod at 5, pushes open the door and moves through.


The door opens to reveal a small, poorly appointed office, just as dirty as the rest of the building. A dented and scratched desk with a torn chair, a small file cabinet, and a grimy computer terminal is all that you see.

"5" nods appraisingly at the bounty hunter's work, Hopefully this terminal has access to other systems on site, or at the least, might have information that will aid us in our goals... The droid moves over to the terminal and proceeds to attempt access...

Clicking away the droid hums in an almost pleasurable manner,Securty is so lax on the rim sometimes... I should...yes...let me see...

    Depending on how far the roll takes me in order of interest...

  • Some notion of who or what Drombb is answering to
  • Something to use against him to get him to back off
  • Anything the group can steal that would help them (physical)
  • Information or credits that can be moved to "5" data/cred stick for sale

Let's go with Heavy Equipment! Once I've done those, I'll go with the Speeders. Then I'll take out the Swoop Bikes.


Rae, Tok, and R5:
Rae works feverishly on disabling the first of the large mining machines. It's quick work on the simple engine, and she is starting on the second, when R5 beeps a warning. Perception 2P; +1B for the droid's warning.


Val and '5':
All is quiet in the hab/office building. '5' works quickly, discovering the following:
  • there are no real security systems to speak of, and the layout is just the three buildings
  • 2000 credits
  • Drombb has been very good about clearing his messages, except for two very interesting ones addressed to Thweek...

(Message 1) "Yes it’s a risky business. I’m amazed Trex managed to get away with that droid technician Sivor without causing the whole thing to fall down on our heads. You never know with kriffing bugs, with their clades and castes and such. Annoy the one on top and you lose every other link in the chain. Start from scratch. I thought this whole deal was going to fall through when we lost the support of Duke Piddock, but Dimmock– he might be the bug for us."

R5 suddenly rolls up to Tok and over his foot! Wincing in pain, you look up just in time to see two thugs coming from the cantina towards the shed. In 30 seconds, they will be there.

"Er, yeah. That's what I'm telling you. You hired me to check it all out and it's taking some time. Yes, sir. Yes. I know. Of course. If you could just send a couple of--"

Tok suddenly "sees" the two approaching thugs. "Nevermind, they're here. Yeah. I'll brief them. Nah, not too bad."


Tok and Rae:
The thugs, a human and an aqualish, start when they see you, hands going to their blasters. 'Who are you? Whatcha doin' in here?" The human thug growls.

OK, guys, this might be a critical point, so I'm using a destiny point. We haven't done that in a while. Here's hoping it's worth it.

Deception/Convincing Demeanor: 2d8 + 3d12 - 1d8 ⇒ (1, 8) + (6, 1, 7) - (7) = 16B, 2A, A, B SA- 2T= S 2A ...whew, seems worth it. Those two advantages will go to boost my next check.

Tok smiles. "Hey, there. Clive Rofrep. We're here takin a look at all your gear, making sure it's all in tip-top shape. Had some complaints about stabilizers on some of the bigger rigs, and if one of those breaks down, well things get pretty f#+@ed pretty fast, y'know? I told my boss I could do this tomorrow, but he says getting it done tonight is worth paying overtime, and it's not like I can say no, right? Say, you guys got an extra quantum spanner on you?"


The thugs look at Tok suspiciously, but don't draw their weapons. They move over to the swoop bikes, and take two of them out of the shed and disappear into the Rylothian night.


Let's get this going. What now? You have a cantina full of bad guys still out there.

With 5 confirming he's done all he can, Val leads the way back out, just as aware and cautious as the pair were coming in.

If there are no interruptions, she'll move out to the door to make sure the coast is clear between the office and the hangar.


The sound of drunken voices can be heard as several thugs come out of the cantina. There are six in all. Two split off for the shed, and four head for the barracks building. In moments, they will be on both groups.

The Selonian assassin ghosts across the compound, keeping pace with the far more visible '5', taking care to stay in the shadows but close enough to aid the droid if he is physically challenged by the two thugs.

"5" mandibles chitter "nervously" at the instructions but the droid nods and begins to shuffle towards the garage where his other friends should be, moving at a regular walking pace...

"Rae? We need to get moving. Did you accomplish anything?"


The four thugs see '5' almost immediately. "Hey droid! Whatareyou..doin' here?" One of the thugs slurs. Two of the humans lean on each other for support, while the other two look for an answer.

Over by the shed, Droomb's boys come aroud between the vehicles, only to be surprised to see Tok, Rae, and R5. They go for their blasters...

Init rolls please. Use Cool, please post your # of S and # of A.

"Could do more, how strapped are we?" Rae exclaims as she stands up from underneath one of the machines, just in time to see some thugs entering the room. "Ah hell." She mutters, wiping oil onto her pants.

I don't have anything in Cool but I have 3 Presence so I think I roll 3G?

Initiative (GGG): 3d8 ⇒ (2, 6, 4) = 12 = (3S, 2A). I'll let Tok use my A's if he can do anything with them at this point.

In a low voice, Tok says. "Arfy, throw a shit fit and follow my lead. This is some classic grift."

When the Droid commences hysterically beeping and whistling, Tok says loudly. "What do you mean, quarantine? It's leaking what? Oh, f@&&! Am I ...do I have ..." He then "notices" the thugs. "For f~$&'s sake, get out of here! One of the rigs is leaking quantumium! I'm dead already ...get out!" He then clinches his gut and doubles over.

While it generally bothered the droid that other sentient species thought so little of his kind it occurs to him that in this moment, that might be useful.

"5" looks at the slurring humans and decides that the truth might be the best course I am here looking over the various systems. I was now headed to the garage to find the mechanic I came with.


This is Initiative, so you don't use the A's like you would normally. They are a tie-breaker in init when S's are equal.

The order is: PC, PC, PC; thugs; PC, PC

The Shed: the thugs faces go white with fear, and they turn and run as fast as they can for the cantina, yelling all the way about a rad leak.

The Admin Bldg: the four thugs look strangely at '5'. "At 1 in the morning?" one asks incredulously. Another nudges the first with an elbow. "Hey. Let's get us some target practice. It's only a droid, Grath can put 'im back together 'fore ol' Droomb finds out..." The four laugh evilly, drawing their blaster pistols. "Run droid, RUN!"

Ready go, initiative given above.

Valkyr rolls her eyes at the macho display, at the same time swearing under her breath that things don't go smooth...

Sighting down her weapon she opens fire as the thugs fumble at their blaster holsters.

Hoping against hope the thugs listen to her, she whispers in to her Comlink to 5
