Set Dressing:

The meeting is taking place inside a private room in the back of a Club. The Club is just on the border of the Barrens. The Mr. Johnson is sitting before you. To either side facing toward the middle, which is where a basic clear plasteel table sits, are two couches large enough to seat everyone comfortably.

Mr. Johnson's Appearance:

She is a Human Woman around the age of 30 with short hair and glasses that block a clear view of her eyes. She is wearing a business suit without a Jacket clearly revealing her concealed holster and the Ares Predator it contains. Her coat is most likely the black trench coat hanging on the coat rack near the door.
Think Baroness from G.I. Joe: Renegades.

Job Background:

A fairly trustworthy Fixer associate of yours called you up and pointed you towards the job saying only that it would be a simple job with a large reward.

Mr. Johnson: "Welcome please have a seat. I am sure you are aware of the type of job you have been called for?"

"before entering the room. Place a bug drone in a shadowed corner. So I can see who is entering and watching the door"

Enter the room and survey the contents and the woman standing there. Give her a nod and take a seat so I can see the room and door.

"Good evening, I am Shade it is a pleasure to meet you."

Shade appearance: a little over 6'0", 180 pounds, black hair, brown eyes, Caucasian, 2 data jacks appears to be his only cyber mods. Carries a backpack over his shoulder which he appears to be very protective of. T-shirt with a large oriental dragon inked on it. Blue jeans, boots, and a long dark overcoat, with driving gloves. He is well spoken but with a soft voice. And his eyes are constantly shifting and it looks like is paying attention to multiple things at once.

Paddy considers arming up like a mad Irish bomber for the meet, but decides for a more subtle approach. The spot being near the barren calls for a little discretionary weaponry however. He selects his revolver and a couple of grenades in his pockets, wearing an old olive-drab army surplus jacket over well-worn flannel shirt, jeans, and work boots.

Parking his little scooter and securing its alarm system, Paddy takes a glance around before calling up a bit of mana to protect himself.

Entering the club, he saunters back to the room, dropping into a couch while keeping his eyes on the door. Paddy's about 1.8m tall, massing less than 85kg. His hair is shockingly red, although natural, and fairly messy.

"'Sup, Shade? Rest of the crew running late or we it?"

Spoiler:
Casting Force 7 armor spell:13d6 ⇒ (5, 1, 6, 5, 4, 3, 1, 6, 6, 6, 6, 1, 2) = 52. Drain resistance vs 5S 10d6 ⇒ (5, 6, 4, 1, 5, 6, 5, 5, 2, 4) = 43. (Full Hit!. Armor increased by 7, no drain.) Wearing armor vest & carrying Ruger, 3 extra speedloaders, 2 drag grenades, an HE grenade, Meta Link commlink, fake license for the pistol, and a fake throwaway SIN.

Walking into the room with a stride of someone who is used to being the center of attention, Verve has to pause several times as his path is obstructed by a couple of groups of women and a nervous looking young man. He speaks quietly but quickly with each before moving into the meeting room. Adjusting his tie and then sitting, he says "Good to meet you, Ms. Johnson; or is it Mrs.?"

Mr. Johnson: The woman stays sitting looking slightly agitated at Verve's comment.

"Making friends already, V? Say, aren't we missing someone large, angry, and blue?"

Always trying to get a date. And yes I believe so the large blue furby.

HP/SP: 28 (28) / 36 (36) | EAC/KAC: 18/18 | Init: +3 | Fort: +7; Ref: +8; Will: +4 | Resolve: 2 (5) | Perception: +6 Force Ward: 16 (16); regen 4 hp/min | Elemental Overflow (+2 to Dex)

god dang these young people. All too quick to affect disdain and try to show people that things don't phase them thought Verve as he replied to Paddy "What can I say, I'm a people person; and yes, where is Sir punchedinface? I would have thought he'd be here by now."

But if the lady would care to pass on any information about our job would be fine. I am always interested in work or the results of the success of work.

Okay how is everyone planning to post IC Words and Actions? I tend to do italics for actions and bold for words spoken aloud then both for their internal monologues.

Bold for spoken. for text/IM. Italics for internal thoughts (not much for me though). Regular text for standard dialogue and exposition.

HP/SP: 28 (28) / 36 (36) | EAC/KAC: 18/18 | Init: +3 | Fort: +7; Ref: +8; Will: +4 | Resolve: 2 (5) | Perception: +6 Force Ward: 16 (16); regen 4 hp/min | Elemental Overflow (+2 to Dex)

I tend to do things out of character like this.

When Verve does things in character, he types like this, and when he thinks about it, he types like this.

"When I'm talking about what I was thinking" Verve said aloud, "It will look like this."

any questions?

Not for you Verve. Though not sure about Paddy's methods...

But if the lady would care to pass on any information about our job would be fine. I am always interested in work or the results of the success of work

Okay thank you all. The noob understands now

"I agree with Shade. I'd like to hear more about the job. BC knows his job very well, anyways."

That is spoken aloud

<Hey, BC! You coming to this meet? Its at the club in Touristville.>

That was a text message

I hope the big angry guy didn't try catching something too big for him.

Internal monologue

It could be fleas, maybe he had a flea bath and his fur dryer broke

What do you think something big blue and furry might catch?

"Tank shells? Antipersonnel RPG? Who knows, really. I'm sure the big guy is fine. Probably just trying to make some time with a chica."

Mr. Johnson: "I'm guessing you are talking about the Troll member of your group. The only information I could find on him was 2 words Bullet Catcher. What is that supposed to mean? Bah... Anyways the job is simply retrieving a Data Drive from a Ganger who picked it up off of a kill he done to prove himself to his gang. You will also need to send a message to the gang to pick their targets more carefully. Heck if you want you can wipe the entire gang out and probably get a nice bounty for their heads from local authorities. I might could set it up for you if you wish."

Wetwork, wonder how the rest feels about it.

May I ask what gang? And which particular ganger you are speaking of?

Male Dwarf Monk(Mantis) 6 Brother of the seal 2 vmc(rogue) hp 82/82 Perception +12 AC , touch , flat-footed Fort +9, Ref +8, Will +7 (+3 vs poisons, spells, and spell like abilities.)

Sorry, missed the new thread. Working on catching up.

Lol wrong character

As the words leave the Johnsons mouth our late member finally makes his appearance.

"It is what I do for a living.” The oppresive looking that is BC moves to take up a couch. "Sorry boys, had a bit of a brush coming in... nothing I couldn't handle. Took me forever to pull the .45 rounds from everywhere they lodged."

I knew you were to big to get lost. Now we can get the scan on the job

"Ha. Told you he was just out living up to his name. Info-dump: datasteal from some gangers who geeked the original owner, plus a little retribution for grabbing it in the first place. And our lovely Ms. Johnson was just about to fill us in some more, like who, where, and what exactly we're grabbing. Is it a 'link, headware implant, datachip, something else?"

HP/SP: 28 (28) / 36 (36) | EAC/KAC: 18/18 | Init: +3 | Fort: +7; Ref: +8; Will: +4 | Resolve: 2 (5) | Perception: +6 Force Ward: 16 (16); regen 4 hp/min | Elemental Overflow (+2 to Dex)

Pulling out his commlink to take notes, Verve will sum up: "So, we grab a drive, then have the option to get a bounty for dealing with the gang in a more....permanent fashion. What is your offer in terms of renumeration?"

Mr. Johnson: She retrieves a silver Credstick for each of you. Upon checking them you find them to be fully loaded with ¥."The stick is with the gangs Decker. He is horribly inexperienced. It is a basic Data Chip that is heavily encrypted. The gang resides in a scrapyard that parts out electronics and vehicles. The are called the Junkyard Dogs or something like that."

Ms you had said something about a bounty? And is there any idea how large of a gang they are?

Mr. Johnson: "Our last intel report stated they had 23 full Members and around 10 Pledge Members. The most powerful weapons they had were a Roomsweeper used by the boss, a Ruger 100 used by a 'sniper' they have always stationed to take out any 'Assassins', and finally 3 Steyr TMPs alongside an SCK Model 100 which are equipped to his 'Enforcers' which rarely leave his side. The rest of the weapons are Lighter Pistols I think the Colt America, Colt Agent Specials, and Colt New Model Revolvers. Oh also the one armed with the SCK is an Orc with cyberware. Seems they got all of those out of a Knockoff Shop and by hitting some shipments to a small company. As far as the bounty. It is 20,000¥ if the boss, his enforcers, and the sniper are captured alive. It is 40,000¥ if the entire gang is wiped out including the boss and his guard. Though you won't be able to get both."

Can you tell me exactly how remote this scrapyard is? For the kind of work required for a complete collection of the bounty would open us for a very large influx of personal interest into who we are ,if this isn't a very remote location. It would make this a very unviable option for our reputations.

Mr. Johnson: "It is in Puyallup and is fairly ignored. And you will not have to worry about the bounty collection we will take care of that for you. Consider it a bonus."

"So, 20k each for the data retrieval, and a possible 40k if we geek the gang pretty much outright? And this is out in the P-Barrens? Sounds good to me."

To the team: <Seems a bit steep for what she's telling us. Either the data is super valuable or the target is a lot harder than they're making out. Either way, I wanna give this scrapyard a once over before we commit to moving on it, and we should definitely ask around about these gangers.>

To Team I have a Fly Spy drone I can recon with, And a Doberman to help out as well. If we do choose the full bounty option, it would be worth the sum to collect the weapons and the cyberdeck. Not sure about the cyberD Ork. If we all use sound suppressors we should have minimal fall out. Just need to make sure I spot the sniper with the drone, Since I am having Nuyen issues right now all would be helpful as I have my eye on a van for transport and modification

"I've got a van if you wanna drive. We'll just need to move some of the more specialized equipment to fit us all in. Of course, if someone has something a bit more...durable, I'm all for it. I'll want to stop by my place for a little back-up before we head out anyways."

HP/SP: 28 (28) / 36 (36) | EAC/KAC: 18/18 | Init: +3 | Fort: +7; Ref: +8; Will: +4 | Resolve: 2 (5) | Perception: +6 Force Ward: 16 (16); regen 4 hp/min | Elemental Overflow (+2 to Dex)

From previous runs, you guys would know that I have an Ares Roadmaster that I operate out of.

If that has rigger adaption thats pretty much perfect.

Roadmaster is perfect, and we have no idea what we will scoop up on the run. But that will be great, just need BC to say he is ready. And Verve to iron out details for any items we have to sell, always better to a buyer lined up

I forgot to mention that as you leave she leave the group with a cheap Disposable Metalink Commlink for contacting her.

On the aforementioned Commlink you recieve a message saying:

Mr. Johnson: <I forgot to mention that any of the stolen items save for the drive that you find and take you can sell as an additional bonus. Have fun!>

"So y'all want I should just walk in and draw fire? Nothing sounded to painful in dat bunch."

Will have my bug drone come into the room and over to me so I can safely stow it away.

Well I am ready to move out, will load up the Doberman on the way there and just need to stop a couple blocks away so I can look for the sniper and then scout out the scrapyard from the air before we go in.

BC gives shade a quizzical look."Ya don't need ta be looking for a sniper chips, ya just watch for muzzle flash and I'll point in the direction I feel any heavy rounds coming from."

I appreciate your tactics but I was more worried about them shooting the Roadmaster. But it would be bad if he shot you too. But I am just the support so how ever you wish to proceed.

"I would like to swing through my doss, specifically to pick up some tactical gear. Not to mention, whip up some astral back-up if needed."

Ready when you are, we need to get my Doberman and Patty's stuff then what ever else is needed then to the yard

HP/SP: 28 (28) / 36 (36) | EAC/KAC: 18/18 | Init: +3 | Fort: +7; Ref: +8; Will: +4 | Resolve: 2 (5) | Perception: +6 Force Ward: 16 (16); regen 4 hp/min | Elemental Overflow (+2 to Dex)

Once we move outside to discuss our plans, Verve will move to the roadmaster (which is not rigged, alas) and pass out the following to each team member:

Glasses (capacity 4 w/flare comp, thermographic vision, Vision Magnification, and Image Link), Earbuds (capacity 3 w/audio enhancement 3), handheld r4 ultrasound sensor, Plastic Restraints x10.

He will change into his full body suit that has non-conductivity 5, and put the following into various pouches on his person:
Directional Jammer r6
Tag Eraser
White Noise Generator
Glasses (capacity 4 w/flare comp, thermographic vision, Vision Magnification, and Image Link)
Goggles (capacity 6 w/Vision Enhancement x5 and Vision Magnification)
Earbuds (capacity 3 w/audio enhancement 3)
handheld r4 ultrasound sensor
Plasteel Restraints x2
Plastic Restraints x10
Autopicker r6
Keycard Copier r6
Maglock Passkey r4
Sequencer r5
Monofilament Chainsaw
MiniWelder
Grappling Gun
200m of Stealth Rope
Catalyst Stick
Medkit R6

I'm sure there's things that I'm missing, but that's a good start.

Vision Enhancement only goes up to 3... Nevermind... Confusing 4E and 5E...

Thank you but I have no need for the glasses, the rest I will take but if we are collecting the bounty why restraints?

HP/SP: 28 (28) / 36 (36) | EAC/KAC: 18/18 | Init: +3 | Fort: +7; Ref: +8; Will: +4 | Resolve: 2 (5) | Perception: +6 Force Ward: 16 (16); regen 4 hp/min | Elemental Overflow (+2 to Dex)

that happens to me all the time between pathfinder, 3.5, and 4th edition.

"Wow. And to think I travelled light to this meet. I'll just take my little scooter home, meet you guys at the Stuffer Shack in like 90 minutes? "

"I'll head with ya red. Am always ready to run so y'all jus got ta play catchup right. Not like ya gonna need da fancy. I can jus go in an crack skulls an geek did chief."

"Sure, sounds good. Say, you got wheels? I'm pretty sure my rambled won't carry the both of us."

We can just take the Roadmaster and swing by I am ready just need the Doberman, so I would say we are ready for the next part.
