You head over to see Reginar at his place on the edge of town and tell him about the trap door. You find him playing with Fahari and smoking his pipe. He offers you drinks. "Ahh, now that is interesting find. Good work. Let's see what happens. I think they take the new recruits out into the city 4 or 5 days after they join. You can keep an eye out for your friends and maybe they can signal you, but don't break their cover. I'm sure if they don't cause too many problems they will get out or be able to send a message to you. If however, we don't hear from them after five days let's plan a rescue. The trap door will be most helpful."

Through the night there is no activity,
but it starts about 7:30 with six priests taking up spaces in the front.
At 10AM a group of six priests leaves and goes out into the city.
At 11AM a priest in black robes with six other priests comes and speaks to anyone who listens in the crowd. After 30 min the priests who took the morning shift go inside and the new six priests take the watch outside. Occassionally someone will stop and ask a question and engage them in conversation.
Midday the group of six who went into the city returns and an hour later a group (could be the same one - hard to tell) leave the temple for the city again.
At 2:00 PM another group of six leaves for the city.
At 4:00 PM there is another group of priests who come out and do 30 minutes of preaching to the crowd followed by the afternoon shift going back inside.
At 5:00 PM a group of six returns from the city to the temple
At 6:00 PM There is another group which exits, preaches for 30 min before the old watch goes back in.
At 7:30 PM A group of six returns from the city.
At 10:00 PM The watch on the door moves inside.
There is no word this first day from your party inside.
The next morning Day 2:
At 7:30 AM six priests take up their watch.
At 10:00 AM a group of six priests leaves and goes out into the city.
At 10:30 AM there is a tapping noise outside your room at the inn and you see a small bird with a note tied around it's leg. Looking at it it says "We are safe - WAIT - Cela"
The rest of the day has a similar schedule from the priests.

You continue to watch the temple (Day 3) and the rotation is the same on day three (seems they are somewhat predictable). Still no signs of your group outside.
Day 4: about 10:30 AM you receive another note. "All is well - we got our gear back." included is a drawing of the inside basement and 1st floor - with most of the areas detailed. (Updating map)
The rest of the day goes by as it has in the past days.

The ranger says this is good news you can start planning if we need to raid the place and probably enter through the tunnel.
Day 5: Everything starts the same, but no groups of priests leave the temple for the city.
and you receive a note about 10:30 with
"6-10 Black Robes are heralds- Egarthis (leader)
6-10 Grey robes are Priests, Includes Krant (instructor)
~20 White robes are Acolytes"
At 11:15 AM the front doors open wide and a procession of the Razmiri members comes out. Black, White and Grey robed priests line up as a black robed priest starts to speak a crowd gathers (this is the busiest part of the day). You see grey and white robed priests mix in with the crowed as he speaks.
The white robed acolytes are doing all manner of things to entertain or capture the crowds attention.
Roll Perception checks please! There is one who is suspiciously short!

Actually yes because they are spending about 30 min out there.
You think you see Buchart, Cela and Fernleaf just judging by the way they move and their proportions. Your sure Fernleaf is there he is the only Hobbit sized. It looks like he is distracting the crowd as the grey robed priests steal coin purses. He is a very naughty Hobbit! Buchart and Cela are helping as well

After 30 minutes the all but six acolytes and priests move back into the temple.
The rest of the day the schedule remains as before.
Day 5: The day starts as it has in days past. This time however at 10AM a group of six leaves the temple which includes 1 Priest and two acolytes. Two of the Acolytes are easy to recognize as Fernleaf and Cela since you have seen no others that fit their dwarf and hobbit sizes. You follow them a few blocks away from the temple and they wait outside a bakery named Harvest Hearth. Here they turn away customers, until no one is left inside. the priest (fat stocky, strong looking man) says something to them and Fernleaf, Cela and you suspect Buchart enter the bakery. The priest and two acolytes stay outside, blocking anyone from viewing the inside and turning anyone who wants to enter away.

Just got home
While they are out, I'd like to cast message on all of them so we can properly catch up. Also, I'd like to put Smek in a pouch and allow one of the insider party members to "steal" it.
You manage to get message cast and Smek is with them it is easy to transfer him to a party member with all the distractions in the crowd.

Through message you learn that they have been accepted as acolytes after getting drugged at the tavern - be careful of the barman!
Their trainer is Krant who is cruel and somewhat dim. The Leader (Elf woman) has been gone over a week with several prominent members now and Egarthis is in her place.
They have free roam of the 1st floor and most of the basement floor.
They have yet to see anyone actually cast a clerical spell (not even a cantrip). The members seem more like thugs and rogues.
They are not locked up at night (they have beds in the basement with other acolytes) and are not aware of how they got in the temple or any tunnel. The tunnel is news to them.
They do not have access to the second floor it is restricted access.
You both realize that soon it will be time to break out as the week is ending.
They have all their gear including their coin, but the "priests" went through it all.
Their daily schedule is closely supervised by Krant.

I will pull my punch on the baker and ask him to scream and please stay down!
Unarmed Strike: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22
OUCH!!!
confirm crit: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 20
Double ouch!!! Why can't I roll like this when it really counts!
damage: 2d3 + 6 ⇒ (2, 3) + 6 = 11
Sorry old man!
GMPablo |
You try to pull your punch, but he leans right into your fist and you beat the baker horribly. He falls back and whimpers - Don't kill me! There's a bag of gold in the flour bin over there!. I have five kids to feed! Take your money and go!" Cela can tell, he is on the verge of unconsciousness... A part of you feels maybe the life of a Razmiri priest would be good - you could go far!
Buchart |
We will see how much he has and hell, I'll reimburse him from my own coin soon. I'll also leave a message with this guy.
Message:
"Please give this guy one of my CLW potions. And tell him I will give his gold back soon."
To the baker I whisper,
"I'm sorry old guy! A friend or two of mine will visit you soon. Give this to them. Don't worry, they don't wear masks. I'll leave you a couple of coins. Just tell everybody that those masked guys suck!"
And I leave him a few of his coins. I also grab a loaf and head out the door. I will turn to Krant and say, "We only collected some intrest. Hu hu!"
Buchart |
Just some CN recklessness! I will be sure then to only take a few gold beyond what is needed for his payment, so there is some interest. As stated before, I plan to pay him back...one day. But Krant first on the payback. I will attempt to distupt the appearance of the place. Thought the flour would help that anyway.
