Chief White Eagle |
hello all, just curious as I have forgotten.
what is White Eagle's position in the Kingdom?
I mean he is among the founders and i guess he has a seat on the council. but was wondering what other roles he is filling.
the reason I ask is with no other adventuring going on, I sometimes forget I am a part of this game.
Zartana |
It happens. I have the same. I still follow though. We all have input on what to build and give a reason, if needed, why =^^=

Natalya Artemisa |
This is from my sieve of a memory rather than trawling the threads for the correct answer, but I *think* I recall CWE being made high councillor... Could be mistaken though :s
Natalya Artemisa |
Councilor
The councilor ensures that the will of the citizenry is represented.
Benefit: Increase Loyalty by a value equal to the Councilor’s Wisdom or Charisma modifier.
Vacancy Penalty: Decrease Loyalty by 2; the kingdom cannot gain benefits from festivals. Increase Unrest by 1 during each Upkeep phase in which the kingdom has no Councilor.
Fluff-wise, that 'ensure the will of the citizenry is represented' could be interpreted nine ways from Sunday! So I'd say it's whatever you want it to be and can fit in to the existing hierarchy of responsibilities ;)
Zartana |
Yup. =^^=
Unlike Z, you want people to see you ;)
Im just glad i can take 10 while in stealth. And still move at normal speed
Less eyes on her

I agree. :)

Agreed, though we do want to get to dealing with those creatures to keep the people happy.

For some reason, this thread doesn't show updates for me. Such a list of posts :)
CWE is the one that people actually like.
...this half-elf would raise an eyebrow, before shrugging.

In the months that we build i do research on the thing of the thing. As much as i can. She also helps me if she has time

The Kingdom is at peace this month. This causes the treasury to go from 25 to 26.
Then you pay consumption, so the treasury goes down to 24.
An oil of magic weapon appears on the altar of the Shrine to All Faiths.
Phase 2 Edicts.
Time to claim a hex.
Emermark has currently claimed Hexes, Z, X, R, L, H and A. These 6 hexes form a strip running from Lake Tuskwater to the South Rostland Road.
Where to next?
Matsu Miyuki |
Many options. Cheap expansion... stay one the soft green in the north.
Grab resources.... Y and G.
I would say a combination of booth. And expand to at least one forest hex for lumber.
If we step away from minmaxing this would be a logical step.
Raven of Bonespire |
A lumber camp would be good, we will need the resources in the future to continue building.

Y are the Sootscale caverns. These abandoned silver mines still boast enough ore to make exploiting them profitable. You'd have to deal with the Kobolds first. At last report there were allies of the Founders, but might not enjoy having their home turned into a mine.
G, the radish patch can host a sawmill.
The hex west of Freewater is home to the Narthropple camp, which has no game effects. This hex was explored and cleared of any immediate threats so it is certainly an option.
Zartana |
I do not approve of taking an ally's home. so sawmill from my side. id rather ask them to send us some ore now and then?
suggestion? random roll to see if we get resources from them? instead of a certain gain, but at the loss of their home...
Jenya P. |
Sounds good. I think if things go well we can just claim the hex and add a bunch of happy kobold miners to Emermark's growing borders. Kyras I guess you're in charge of who goes on this diplomatic mission? Jenya will sit out. She ain't much of a talker.
Zartana |
And Z likes to NOT be seen OR heard... even though underground environments suit her well

Natalya Artemisa |
+1 for the silver mine, let's offer the kobolds citizenship and all the protection it brings, and offer to pay them for the silver they mine :)
Chief White Eagle |
the remaining founders that were present for the initial meeting were:
Lorald
CWE
Matsu Miyuki
Natalya Artemisa
at least the best I could tell.
these would probably be the best choices for any diplomacy
Mardavig |
So in an effort to claim the Y hex along the Shrike river for Emermark, particularly the deposits of silver there, a delegation is sent to the Sootscale caverns.
The cold winter finds no Kobolds waiting outside to greet you, but as you enter into the caverns you find small coal fires being burned in brass censers. the few kobolds about seem sluggardly and they barely react to your presence.
You address them and shortly after Chief Sootscale come out to greet you clad in a fur robe. "Merk, greetings smoothskin friends, it is good to see you again"
Anyone who wants to come along feel free, if you'd rather not just wait a bit, this won't take long.
Natalya Artemisa |
Natalya is happy to stretch her legs on the trip out to the caverns, and brings along the much grown worg pup, who in the last couple of months has already grown to waist height.
This is 'Frost' she introduces him simply.
He snuffs a little in the air to acquaint himself with the scents of his mistress' traveling companions, and then maintains a somewhat distant air, his ice-blue eyes drinking in the world around him without giving anything back.
As the group is welcomed in to the caverns, Natalya greets the Chief with a smile
It is good to see you again Chief Sootscale, I hope your tribe has been fairing well these last few months?
Mardavig |
Chief Sootscale nods. "Merk, many eggs were lain in the fall, when the thaw comes there will be many Sootscales, merka."
"Merk, your tribe fares well, there are many, many smoothskins about, and fewer dangers to be found, merka. Merk, while traveling to the radish patch and other places, my Sootscales have seen your roads and other things you have built, merka."
"Merk, though it is sleepy winter we will do our best to rouse a feast for you, merka." He gestures to several nearby kobolds and orders them about in draconic. They quickly set to work preparing a reception for you.
Lorald Orlovsky |
Lorald, his crossbow ever at hand during the journey, raises a hand as the chief gives the order.
"Clearly we have disturbed you, I do not think we should trouble you for a feast. At least not until the reason for our coming has been made clear. At which point I think you would be better inclined in your choice of reception."
He removes a flask of alchemist fire and pours a small amount in a near by censer to increase the heat a bit. It was a small favor but a start he thought for disturbing them. He should have asked a sage about the kobolds before they left. It seemed the winter had an effect similar to a bear's upon them. Luckily they were not hostile as a result.
Mardavig |
The Chief nods at Miyuki's reasoned argument. "Merk, sootscales will mine silver for Longshanks, merka. Merk, If sootscales get full protection under law of Chief Miyuki, sootscales will go to longshanks caves to learn longshanks trades, merka. Merk, if sootscales can keep a portion of the silver that is mined then longshanks will get silver mined from sootscales caves, merka."
The Chief reaches out a claw to Miyuki.
Natalya Artemisa |
Well spoken both Lady Miyuki and Chief Sootscale, I'm proud to be present on this day and am sure this agreement will bring prosperity to both our peoples
Natalya smiles as the kobolds and founders reach an agreement, and eagerly breaks out the bottle of liquor she brought along in the hopes this would be the result of the diplomatic mission. Frost cocks his head to the side as he watches everything around him.
