It appears that the game is scarce in this area. He is able to forage enough food for himself but that is all.

Survival for Area C: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (5) + 8 = 13

Still a lack of food that he finds, only enough for him and his axe beak.

When the sound of a distressed horse and then likely rider Krazok leads his axe beak in that direction soon finding its source. He likely is not first on the scene but if no one else does anything he quickly dismounts and tries to calm down the pony so that the group can handle the trap easier.

Male shocker lizard?

Once the group gets away from the outpost at least 500 feet the little green and yellow lizard like creature comes out of hiding and begins to investigate the group.

He goes to Krazok first, who likely just nods at the little thing. Next he zooms over to Arvangail and climbs up his mount's flank to sit up on his shoulder. In his squeaky little voice it asks, "Soooo, what you got? More friends? What's new... and shiney?"

What is new is that a few interesting souls have taken up the call to pacify a portion of the lands and i am hopeful they will help me in slaying that which I Hunt, and i have brought you this my little Slay friend

Also, I think that she only has a 30' movement at this point unless I missed something. She does not get fast movement until Monk/3, she is only Monk/2 at this point. So, she will purchase a light riding horse for the time being to avoid slowing the group.

Helping to open the bear trap to set the horse free This land is home to a least one very dangerous beast that has already killed many of those who lived in or or those that wanted to settle here. I mean to slay it if i can. I will rule it because it is my Right by law, by birth and by Strength it i need to. That i am fit or have the necessary skills to rule remains to be seen. he replied with a smile

Blienka raises her eyebrow at Arvangail's rather strange comment.

What would this beast of which you speak be? I have not heard of this before. And, by what birthright would you hold any more right to serve as the sole ruler of these lands? What makes you think you have any more right than any of the rest of us? Do you even know what blood flows in the veins of those with whom you travel?

Valisia looks back and forth as the conversation turns to rulership and birthrights. She didn't say anything. Her entire life had been a constant reminder of the celestial blood that flowed in her family's veins. Did that make her fit to rule over someone? She doubted it. She did feel like it would be interesting to run a small kingdom though if she admitted it.

Clearing her throat, "Well thanks for helping with my pony everyone. It seems like we can probably get the trap off..."

"I too would like to hear about this beast. It sounds.....fascinating..."

"I am curious as well, how do you intended to rule the land? Will you preserve or conserve the forests and have the people live in harmony with the land? Towns and Cities require a lot of wood, for buildings, burning, construction and industry. Mining disturbs the earth and the tailings need to be dumped somewhere. I would be saddened to see any lands blighted by overzealous exploitation."

She felt a little soapboxy, but decided it needed to be said, if anyone cared for her opinion. Patting her pony, her mind turned to the acorns she had recovered from the treant. Wondering....

Imrael too paused and listened to the conversation. Of course he knew where his own destiny lay, but that is but a far end, and the how of it was still in tumult.

"Yes, please do disseminate what knowledge you have. Is it a ghost or a giant or a giant dire badger? Does it slay by stealth or strength?

And speaking strength, by what Right do you hold? I had assumed that you had been given a mandate from the King, or some other noble as befits a Feudal system, but if you are simply hoping to be given a Writ of Nobility for committing a random good deed, you might wish to lay in a more solid foundation before expecting to be paid after the cake has been delivered, so to speak.

And Valisia, let us not make overmuch of the planning of the land before we see it. If it is overrun with forests, then there shall be ample wood for all. And if it has not a single green thing growing in it, we shall have a deficit of wood before we even start. Let us not bake the cake before we even see the flour."

For some reason Imrael really wanted a cake.

Looking back and forth from the conversation going around and around,

I certainly hope this doesn't turn sour from here, I was only curious.

"Yes please tell us more of this beast you keep speaking of, perhaps if some of us "New Comers" knew more of what we were looking for we may be able to help with our own expertise."

Looking at Imrael, "I also agree we should not begin to think of what we will be doing with the land before it is even secure, if such a beast exists that we are looking for we should surely deal with it first."

Male shocker lizard?

Sly hops up and down before the elf and gladly takes it admiring every little nuance about it pantomiming his emotions of joy. Then he puts it on and twirls the necklace around until he can tuck the silver amulet under one of the chains secured to his neck.

As the group travels he makes his way around to each person to see what they will do to interact with him. He is very inquisitive and checks in packs as much as he can.

True, true, Blienka, I had thought you had fast movement already. Good lass in getting one of the light horses! I fall asleep early one night and boom goes the posts!

Food for 23 so far... over the two days... so no one needs rations for the fist four days. So no foraging needed for the next two days! Yes foraging makes the group move at half speed.

Valisia, it is a regular pony.

With the horse being calmed by Krazok, and everyone's aid so far the pony will be saved without any more harm coming to the pony. Such a helpful group! I love it!

Blienka finds a small patch of onions the first day and finds a few rabbits the next day, plenty of food for the group.

Blienka decides that Arv is clearly not in a mind to be reasoned with at this point and further discussion is unlikely to lead to any beneficial results. Instead, she begins to scour the area for more traps.

Might as well take the traps we find. Although I hate them for their intended purpose, the might be quite effective if placed around our camp at night to waylay any unwanted visitors.

She then, despite her colorful garb and outlook, shows that she is quite adept at moving quietly when she wants.

Sly shakes his head indicating no to Krazok's request, then rushes into a nearby bush, peeking out at those gathered around.

A diplomacy check is needed and possibly a small bribe.

If you wish to attempt to locate and flag the locations of all the traps in this area (Hex), by taking a day and making a DC 15 Perception check—failure by 5 or more indicates that the searching PC steps in one of the traps. During or after this procedure, you can disarm all of the traps either by manually triggering them with a stick or by making a DC 20 Disable Device check.
After this is done the group has collected 14 bear traps, if you choose not to then you have 3 bear traps.

Presently all checks appear to be looking for hidden traps around the cabin.

At the cabin luckily Blienka hears Valisia's statement before stepping on the trap. She sneaks around and realizes that the best route up is either by the tree (DC 15) or a harder climb up the stony hill (DC 20).

As Valisia prodded about and looked in the underbrush for traps, she pondered the conversations the group had lately. Their short exploration so far had introduced her to the area somewhat more, and she had been taking notes, mentally and in her journal. This was a nice land. She hoped it would not be despoiled, but she felt like things would work out just fine if managed well. She clutched the small pack of acorns she carried with her. Perhaps this was a sign, and these were the lands that could use some extra care. The new treant caretakers would see to that she was sure. She would watch for the perfect opportunity, perhaps the gods would send her a sign if she asked. She wasn't ready to ask yet though.

Arvangail and Florian slowly make it up the tree, they can find several places where limbs are a bit worn by travel and several branches that have been deliberately cut to make good rungs to climb up and down the tree. Up at the cabin Arvangail steps off the tree and onto the porch. The door is shut. He tests it out by pushing first and is rewarded with it opening inward.

Inside the cabin:
It is rather spartan, though there is a cot with several treated furs, as blankets, on the cot. The other items are a wooden chest, the starting of 10 arrows, honey bucket, a wooden stool, and two dead fowls hanging to bleed out into a wooden bucket. There are quite a few flies on the fowl and a good portion of the blood is dry. There are several wooden pegs set in the walls. It looks recently used but not in disrepair yet as a whole.

Imrael nods at Florian. "Aye, just over a baker's dozen, all told. We'll share them out among the horses until we can establish a better base.

And speaking of establishing a base, t'would seem that if there was a huntsman here, he has either moved on or perished, as he's not checked his traps, or has appeared before us though we have discovered his home.

Do any of you know aught of tracking that we might see if he left us a trail to follow?

Arvangail, what is our next step? Now that we have cleared this dangerous area of all offending traps and discovered an abandoned cabin, do you have an idea of where this dragon of yours might next be found?

And there is a chest in there? 'Tis not theif-ly to search it, so long as you take nothing. But there may be a clue to the man's whereabouts, and he might need help. If there is a map to this dragon of yours, he might wish helpful strangers to follow it and come to his rescue!"

Krazok responds to Valisia, "Yes they are! Thanks for the healing."

He takes three of the bear traps and puts them into his axebeak's saddlebags.

Arvangail:
Nothing detects as magical.

If you keep any number of bear traps please make a note of it in the discussion thread (if not in gameplay explaining where you put them, see Krazok's statement). Then add them to your loot or gear section.

No trail can be easily found DC 24 Survival check.

Chest in the cabin:
A wine bottle half full, a mink fur 'so soft', a bag of coins, a map of 'newest traps', a poor excuse for a lute, a half filled waterskin and a few rations.

Blienka you find a bluff in the region that looks out over the area seeing the forest for miles.

Florian shrugs and looks into the chest, calling down to the others after his inspection.

"All told not much left in the chest up here, a map of the traps which would have been nice to have before everyone went looking for them a,d a map of the immediate area it seems."

Looking to Arvangail,

"Where are we off to now?"

As she is looking for the most scenic places in the area, Blienka also searches for any signs of where the hunter might have gone.

Survival: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (18) + 9 = 27

Blienka also takes three bear traps figuring that they are good for protecting the party in less hospitable parts of the stolen lands.

Upon closer inspection of the map...:
You see that it does not show where the bear traps were but instead where pits, dead falls, and other bigger traps can be found. Primarily in the South West region from the cabin. With the map, you will not fall prey to any of the traps that are marked on it.

The other area talks about pesky vermin in the area to the South, a radish patch to the South for one day then one day East, a day South from the cabin then a day South West will lead to a building with the nasty bear, finally it tells about the bandit camp that is two days South.

Blienka finds a trail that leads to the South East that looks like it has been used several times each week, likely for months.

Krazok stretches some and asks the group, "So we follow Blienka's path she found or work on finishing the exploration to the NorthWest?"

Does Florian share what he learned from the map with us?

Imrael says arvangail walking out of the cabin we are not strong enough to even attempt hunting off that thing he replied camly.

addressing Krazok and everyone else in order to be thorough first we finish exploring this are then we move on to the path found won't you all agree ?

Blienka nods:
I doubt vermin, a big bear or a radish patch are likely to go anywhere. I would like to look into this bandit camp as they are no doubt destroying the beauty of any land where they might be setting up camp. However, I think that we should finish this area while we are here. Otherwise we will just be riding back here later to reinvestigate.

Nodding agreeably, but to no one in particular, Valisia stood on an old tree stump to add just a little more height to herself.

"Bandits sound like bad news. We should message them, and see if they are willing to change their lives to be productive citizens. We could use the person-power to help out. If they refuse us, we will make their banditry less profitable."

Valisia chuckled to herself, she felt like a regular badass with her imagined ultimatum to the unknown bandits. She was starting to like this field work. Much more fun being out here with the plants and animals getting dirty than stuffed up in the temple mumbling boring old chants.
