Exploration Rules:
Brevan Charter for the Greenbelt wrote:
Be it so known that the bearer of this charter has been charged by the Swordlords of Restov, acting upon the greater good and authority vested within them by the office of the Regent of the Dragonscale Throne, has granted the right of exploration and travel within the wilderness region known as the Greenbelt. Exploration should be limited to an area no further than thirty-six miles east and west and sixty miles south of Oleg’s Trading Post. The carrier of this charter should also strive against banditry and other unlawful behavior to be encountered. The punishment for unrepentant banditry remains, as always, execution by sword or rope. So witnessed on this 24th day of Calistril, under watchful eye of the Lordship of Restov and authority granted by Lord Noleski Surtova, current Regent of the Dragonscale Throne.

The expanse of the Stolen Lands has not, in Brevoy’s recent memory, been accurately mapped, and part of the task set before the PCs is to rectify this gap. As they explore the region, they and their companions are expected to keep track of what they find in order to keep Brevoy informed of strong and weak points of defense and to determine possible sites for roads, towns, and other fortifications.

Each hex on the map of the Stolen Lands is 12 miles across (between opposite corners) and covers just under 150 square miles of area. These hexes are provided not only as a way to help define the land (and eventually aid in defining the territory of the kingdom the PCs are destined to rule), but also as an aid in tracking travel through the Stolen Lands.

In this Adventure Path, though, characters will also be taking time to fully explore hexes on the map—doing so takes much longer than
simply walking through a hex. To determine how long it takes the PCs to travel through a hex or to fully explore it, determine the group’s speed (which is set by the slowest member of the group) and consult the tables above. For traveling, the amount of time it takes to cross one hex is listed. For exploring, the amount of time listed is to fully investigate the hex. Until the PCs spend money to create trails and roads, all of the Stolen Lands are considered to be trackless. In some hexes, more than one terrain is present in a hex. In such cases, calculate that hex’s effect on travel as if it were a hex of the dominant terrain type.

  • Quests!:
You have unlocked the Quest feature! I will place a new spoiler in the header for you to keep track of quests. Please be aware that some quests may be expected to range over a long span of time in this campaign while others will be more time sensitive and require quick action. Any time you wish me to add a clue to a quest, please call it out and I will place it inside the header. See example below.

Quest: Deliver a fair amount of fangberries to Bokken.

  • Clue: Fangberry thicket 50 miles or so to the southwest of Bokken's hut.

    Quest: Locate Bokken's "crazy" brother.

  • Clue: Man turned bandit may have encountered someone fitting this description. Rumored to be part of Kressle's gang.
  • Clue: Last rumor places Bokken's brother somewhere to the south.

Quest: Special (Ali) Locate a dragon gizzard and a golem keystone.

Quest: Wanted: Bandits! The bandits in the Greenbelt need to be shown that their actions will not be tolerated!
Reward: The Swordlords of Restov are offering 400 gold once proof that bandit activity in the region has been driven down.

  • Clue: Capture or defeat several to help cull the threat of banditry in the area around Oleg's Trading Post.

Quest: Find the lair of the Sootscale Kobolds and ensure that they aren’t going to continue being a threat any way necessary.
Reward: The Swordlords of Restov will provide a reward of 800 gp once the kobold activity is under control.

  • Clue: The Sootscale Kobold Clan dwells in a cave somewhere in the Kamelands.

    Quest: Wanted: Tatzlwyrm Head!
Reward: 600 gp for a relatively undamaged tatzlwyrm head.

  • Clue: Grub claims to have seen one in the forest to the southeast.

Quest: Wanted: Slay the legendary Tuskgutter!
Reward: My prized masterwork longbow and the last of my enchanted arrows for hunting to whoever can finally kill Tuskgutter. If you can bring me the monster's head, I promise I'll even share the head cheese I plan to make out of this trophy.

  • Clue: (?) Every Greenbelt hunter has a story about Tuskgutter, each wilder than the last! Look at me! I lost my leg to the accursed Hog from Hell. Whoever manages to kill the ill-tempered beast will get a nice reward from me old, retired Vekkel Benzen.

Quest: Oleg’s been under a lot of stress lately, and Svetlana would love to cook him his favorite meal (moon radish soup) to help him relax. Unfortunately, moon radishes are relatively rare. Bring Svetlana a basket of moon radishes.
Reward: Svetlana is ready to pay a 250 gp reward to anyone who can bring her enough moon radishes to make soup.

  • Clue: A whitish radish which locals say glows during the lunar equinox. This is just a myth.
  • Clue: A patch grows somewhere between 15-20 miles south of the trading post.

Quest: Although his wife claims it’s not a big loss compared to what the bandits could have taken, Oleg knows the theft of her wedding ring has distressed her. She’s forbidden him from risking life and limb to recover it, but if anyone else can find the ring and return it to him, he’ll be very grateful.
Reward: Oleg promises 1,000 gp in trading post credit if his wife’s ring can be recovered.

  • Clue: A plain brass wedding ring set with a single pearl.
  • Clue: The bandits were the last to have it, but they might have lost or sold it already.

Quest: Capture Falgrim Sneeg, alive if possible.
Reward: Kesten can arrange a reward of four masterwork weapons of the capturer’s choice if Falgrim is delivered alive. If he’s delivered dead, Kesten can only promise two weapons.

  • Clue: Falgrim fled into the Greenbelt to become a bandit.
  • Clue: Falgrim is described as an older Varisian with graying hair and an very unruly beard. He is a former mercenary, and those who fought with him say he possesses an unnerving calm in the face of violence.

As you can see, definitive clues and uncertain clues shall be listed as black and light blue respectively. Once you're certain of a clue, tell me, and I will update the color.

    Ephemeral GameMaster

    Upstairs

Llewyn decides it's better to go ahead and avoid whatever is happening downstairs. He closes his room's door and bolts the lock. Then he pulls the bed frame over and braces it against the door. Having dressed, he opens the small window and sees the stable roof just below has a nice simple slope in order to get down.

It's like it was meant to be, he thinks to himself. He gathers up his things and gets ready to make the attempt. In the alley, he hears a someone walking on the stones, their boots making a splashy click-clack from the rain. Whoever it is whistles loudly, and Llewyn finds himself suddenly feeling very strange.

    Will Save DC 30: 1d20 + 2 + 20 ⇒ (8) + 2 + 20 = 30

The feeling passes, but the whistling pauses for a moment and the footsteps stop. After a brief second, a chuckling echoes down the alley and the whistling continues. The footsteps once again go splishy-splashy, clickity-clack, and they move on down the alley and around the corner.

Llewyn takes a moment as a small wave of dizziness makes his head swim after the strange feeling. He pauses on the sill, a light sprinkle of the rain pattering on his face.

    What was that?

Down the hallway, the two gnomish companions of Veliar, go racing down the stairs magic dancing on their fingertips. Others take Llewyn's example and barricade themselves inside their rooms...though not everyone is willing to try their luck escaping out their windows.

"Rhaich!" Kalica swears in Elven trying to remain calm within a chaotic storm of people. She looks at Ali and nods then looks at the crowd.

She seems overwhelmed by the sea of people before her. She peers through the crowd trying to find an opening that she can run unhindered through to get to the bar unscathed.

She then whispers to Ali, "If I fall, you are to run to the bar and go through the door. Do not wait for me. Understand?" She then waits patiently for an opportunity of an opening to present itself while fending off anyone that might hinder them in the process.

"You are not going to fall!" Ali whispers softly into her long ears, as they are stuck in the throng. "Especially not with tha' clodding great big feet." Ali tries to add a bit of levity in the serious situation.

Female Catfolk Time thief / 1

    Acrobatics: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 20

Miyari's ears swivel towards the half-elf as he calls the woman whose name has slipped her mind and Arielle. Well, if she trusts him, then that should be good enough... she does not seem quite the trusting sort. The darkly furred woman gestures to Glen that she is going to go with Corinne towards the door, with the suggestion that he come when he is able and that she will wait for him there. Or at least she tries to convey that message using some kind of ad hoc gesture message.

    Bluff (secret message): 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (12) + 10 = 22

Hoping that the goblin is as good at charades as he is at investigating, the catfolk continues to move silently, crouched slightly so that she can better weave through the crowd with feline grace, limboing beneath a swung chair. Fortunately, the weapons being used are not built to be weapons and the combatants involved are not so well trained. When she gets closer to what's-her-name and Arielle, she nods firmly again to offer her assistance. Or at least to cover their rear.

    Male Dwarf Bloodrager HP: 10/16

Brokk looks at his fallen foe and begins to walk away. The bar itself is a madhouse and he loved it. He began pushing his way to the last place he remembered dropping his gear, the bar, in hopes it had been placed somewhere around there. The revelers made movement difficult and he had to keep his gaurd up in anticipation for anything. As he got to the bar he searched for his gear or that mischievous gnome Jellink.

If possible I want to hold Brokk's attack until attacked or possibly startled. If I can move and still search that will be my other half action

    1d20 - 1 ⇒ (17) - 1 = 16

    Ephemeral GameMaster

The roll is more general, indicating success at brawling or dodging your way through the melee. So you can absolutely move and search. And incidentally...

In Brokk's path, a man making cawing sounds like a crow is on the back of a younger man and acting like he's getting a piggy back ride while beating the younger about the ears. The younger man is doing his best to dislodge the crazed shop worker, but unfortunately trips over a long stick. Wait! It's the haft of Brokk's warhammer fallen over. And there's his pack and other gear laying on its side under the stool!

Roswitha yanks the pillow from atop her head, abandoning all hope of sleep given the din downstairs. Bolting up from the bed, she strides to the door, yanks it open, and screams:

    "SHUT! UUUUUUP!"

    Initiative: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22

    Ephemeral GameMaster

    Upstairs

Roswitha sees a man laying slumped against one wall of the hallway, blood (his presumably) on the floor and damage to the wooden wall next to the man's head. There is very little doubt something is very wrong in the Dragon's Rest.

    Downstairs

Miyari makes some gestures at Glen that he has clearly seen before, and he understands perfectly. There are definitely some benefits to having solved many mysteries together.

    Perception DC 13:
A dueling student with much too large of a grin slips out the opening leading to the keg and store room.

Now even the landing is spilling with people brawling and fighting. It's chaos in the Dragon's Rest.

    Chance: 1d100 ⇒ 88

The giggling woman seems to have been swept away from Ali and Kalica by the press of bodies, and is not specifically in view among the press of flesh.

    Kalica and Ali:
You take a -5 on each of your rolls, but they are combined. Kalica may only take Acrobatics rolls, and Ali may only make combat rolls, but the totals are added together. If Kalica chooses to make a combat roll, there is a 50% (high side) chance of dropping Ali prone. This combat roll would be made at -10.

    Improvised: 1d20 - 4 ⇒ (15) - 4 = 11

The half-elf uses his axe to parry one end of a broken chair and solidly smacks the the owner with the haft knocking the old man senseless.

"From where are all these people coming?" he asks the cosmos in disbelief. "One would think every building along the street outside has suddenly been emptied only to come for the inn!"

Congratulating herself for always sleeping clothed in a strange inn (against occurrences precisely like this one), Roswitha whispers a brief phrase, tangling her fingers in a complex, knuckle-popping motion. A barely-visible shimmer coats her form closely. She stops to grab her pack, unwilling to leave it unguarded in her room, and pick up her crossbow.

Casting mage armor as a standard. She'll pick up and sling on her pack, grab her crossbow, and look out into the hallway again (checking for danger).

    Female Elf Ranger/2

Kalica focuses on making her way to the bar. Once she does get to the bar she will lift Ali off her shoulder and place him on the other side of the bar. Then her plan is to hop over the bar herself.

This is of course if she makes it, lol

Female Catfolk Time thief / 1

Miyari waits until Corinne and Arielle move closer to the door to follow. If they manage to make their way out of the main room, she stays in the doorway both to wait for Glen and to make sure that nobody pursues.

Roswitha: The hallway is eerily empty with the exception of the injured man dressed in suspicious garb.

Llewyn: Unfortunately, the ledge proves to be a tad slippery. Llewyn slips and bumps his head on the ledge enough to make him stars. The DC would have been 12. I forgot to post that the last time. Sorry!

    Non-lethal damage: 1d4 ⇒ 3

The bard lands on the sloping roof and finds himself sliding fairly slowly toward its edge. The stars fade in enough time for him to reach out and stop his momentum. From there it will be an easy drop to the ground.

    Perception DC 10:
There appears to be someone coming out of a door from the Dragon's Rest just past the stables. In the darkness, it is unclear who or what it is.

Miyari: Occasionally, Arielle's guardian flickers, and while no one else knows what this might mean (or even remember), after their private conversation, Miyari can't help but know exactly what this means. With the help of her power and the adept half-elf Veliar, the scarred-faced woman moves through the press of people with relative ease.

Perception DC 15 (Armin, Glen, Miyari +5):
Some kind of symbol begins to glow faintly on Arielle's forehead. Arielle's Round Five action.

Armin and Glen: Quite suddenly, a laughing woman steps in leaps up onto the elevated perimeter. Kicking a young man who appears to be dressed in a nightgown in the face and knocking him senseless, she adroitly bounces off the banister and lands before Armin and Glen effectively splitting the group on the raised section. She raises her sword in a perfect stance for the dueling student she is. Her eye on falls on Glen, and she bursts into giggles as if there is a joke she knows for which the small gnome(?) is the punchline. The gleam of violent madness is evident in her. She makes ready to attack.

Brokk: Behind Brokk, somehow he can feel someone looking at him. Glancing back, he can see his "dance partner" getting to his feet. The once called Rorme reaches for his discarded sword all the while staring Brokk down.

Kalica and Ali: "You two! Keep that end of the bar clear!" The deep baritone of Broquart the innkeeper rings out as he gestures to the pair at that end of the bar. He klonks the head of a middle-aged woman dressed in the gaudy garb of a street walker. "If they get back here, we'll all be done for."

    Perception Kalica/Ali DC 15:
The unconscious man lying on the floor behind the bar seems to be waking. He groans slightly opening his eyes which look around bewildered.

Armin, Glen, and Brokk are our last to go. If you are unable to post by tomorrow, I will go ahead and move us past this point.

    Male Android Bloodrager 2 | HP 18/18 | AC 17, T 12, FF 15 | Fort +5, Ref +2, Will +1 | CMD 17 | Init +2 | Perception +8 | RC 5

    Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (20) + 7 = 27

Armin was not typically in the business of striking strangers unprovoked, so perhaps it was a good thing that this woman was so blatantly dangerous. More importantly, she was in his way.

The android stomps toward the laughing woman, trying to push his way past the people who were crazy in another way entirely. Along the way something shatters against his head - a mug, or cup, or gods knew what. Whatever it was, it disoriented him just enough for the wild swing he unleashes on his target to miss.

    Round Five Cleanup

Brokk: Brokk dashes the few feet to his equipment and scoops up the pack and kicks the haft of his massive hammer up, adroitly grasping it with his thick fingers. Spinning on his heel, Brokk ducks a wild swing from a pudgy middle aged woman who is subsequently tackled by one of the insurgence members clearing the space between the dwarf and the eerily quiet man.

He grins at Brokk, his teeth bloody as something in his mouth was clearly damaged from their previous tussle. The effect is extremely menacing. To make matters worse, Brokk begins to hear a strange chiming bell in his head that rings at fairly regular intervals.

Glen: There is little doubt why the giggly woman is glaring at Glen, his crossbow bolt is still protruding from her side. She does not seem to be hampered by it however. Her attention is pulled away from him when Armin brings in his wild attack. Armin splits off the edge of the table with the impact of the blow.

With her attention now on the hulking brute, Glen takes the opportunity to duck under the table.

    Stealth by distraction: 1d20 + 16 - 10 ⇒ (8) + 16 - 10 = 14

The scarred woman stops for a second and glances back at Armin and Glen with concern, but Veliar tugs on her sleeve.

"Sorry!" she says and turns to follow the half-elf as he pushes a pair grappling and punching one another out of the way. Arielle closes her eyes. Arielle's Round 6 action.

Kalica/Ali: "Broquart! We can't stay here!" Jellink yells. She points to the door as more and more people seem to be pouring in, the touch of madness evidence in their eyes. The rebellious faction which had initially been successful in stemming the tide of the mob is being overwhelmed as more folks enter the Dragon's Rest. The big innkeeper looks around at his establishment with a stricken look.

"I'll fix it all later! We have to get out!" the magenta-haired gnome yells at him. A hard expression appears on Broquart's face. He nods once and says, "Anyone not crazy, get out the back!"

The man who had been foaming at the mouth sits up holding his head. "Wha-what's going on?" He looks around in utter confusion and disorientation.

Roswitha: A rather pretty half-orc comes running up the stairs looking over her shoulder with a frightened expression. She looks up in surprise to see the armed Roswitha standing in the doorway to a room. She puts up her hands in a poor mimic of a fighting stance trembling all the while.

Armin/Glen:Her laughter becomes more shrill as her sword arm comes up to take advantage of the opening Armin's missed attack provides.

    Hilarious blade: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
    Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 2

Almost in a mimic of the barbarian's move, the woman shears off a wall mounted oil lamp completely from where it joined with the wood paneling.

Brokk: The man called Rorme charges at the dwarf with his sword poised to strike.

    Quiet slice: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20
    Damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

Someone is bodily thrown between Brokk and his opponent disrupting his view. When the visual barrier is passed, the dwarf only has enough time to flinch back reflexively, but the blade's edge still catches his arm inflicting a light wound.

Llewyn: A man's cheerful voice says into the dark rainy night, "Master, look what greatness I have wrought! Master? Are you there?" The voice begins to fade in pitch as Llewyn can clearly tell the person is most likely moving away from him.

Sorry for the delay! Check the Round Six spoiler. If your name is bolded, please post. Llewyn, since your previous post was mostly pure reflex, we'll say that you still have an action this turn as well.

Kalica wastes no time. After making her way over the bar she helps the stricken man to his feet. "No time to explain make your way to that door!" She points to the door that everyone is escaping through.

She then turns her attention to Ali. "Ali, let's go before there is no chance to escape!" She offers up her hand to the youth in hopes he will not put off her trying to help him down quickly.

Roswitha snorts as the woman attempts a fighting stance, though she doesn't entirely discount her martial prowess. Half-orcs are nothing to sneeze at when riled. Everyone knows that.

"Rough crowd tonight? You can..." She tries to think of a polite way to say hide. "... guard my room while I go downstairs and settle some people. They're interfering with my beauty sleep, and that's a bad idea." She waves a hand in the direction of her room, which still has the door standing open.

    Free action is fine.

Roswitha: At first, the half-orc seems wary, but then she lets out a sigh of relief when Roswitha sounds and acts sane.

"Go down...? N-no! There be crazies tearin' up the place. We go out another way."

The half-orc points down the hallway behind Roswitha.

"I-I..." she swallows and tries to regain her breath. "I'm Cerwek. I work the tavern. If'n ya want to avoid danger, follow me, 'kay?"

She moves past Roswitha then up the hallway to the end. Seeing the door to Llewyn's room open, she peers in and then goes inside.

Armin grits his teeth, frustrated by his failure. He could not even begin to understand what the woman found so hilarious, but whatever it was just made him angrier. When the woman swings at him and wildly misses, the barbarian follows up with a backswing, swinging just as hard as he did before.

Armin/Glen: For the first time since she appeared the woman stops laughing and cries out in pain. The glimmer of something shows in her eye.

    Will Save: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25

Holy crap! Good thing that wasn't on an attack, eh Armin? :P

The woman blinks several times and looks around. She sucks in air and slumps against the wall as the pain of the serious wound Armin dealt her seems to take hold. She lets out another squeal of pain as her shoulder with the crossbow bolt makes contact with the wall. The bolt is jammed further into the wound by the action. She looks around the room in astonishment. Confusion and fear war on her face.

Her sword arm dips down, and the movement seems to bring her back to the present—the present being one angry barbarian standing over her.

"P-please...Don't ki—" She suddenly coughs and blood comes up. "Wha-why...?"

It doesn't take an inquisitor to tell the woman is utterly terrified.

Even though it was pure luck of the dice, I'm giving you an RC for causing a save by exceeding the damage threshold to trigger such a thing. Good job, Armin! Of course, it was the lowest possible roll, but still!

One of Roswitha's dark eyebrows rises. "Avoid danger? Tempting, but that seems rather against the spirit of exploration, does it not? After all, if we can't handle a tavern fight, how can we handle taming the wilderness? Stay safe, Cerwek. I'm going to see what's happening down there." And Roswitha heads for the stairway, absently murmuring a phrase. A dark, shadowy figure appears in the hall ahead of her, shedding a weird light that illuminates the hall, despite the figure's dark nature.

Move 30' toward the stairs and cast dancing lights, humanoid figure, in the hall ahead (at the top of the stairs if those are visible).

Roswitha: The sorcerer sees the massive melee in the tavern below. Blood and smashed furniture seems to be everywhere. The room is nearly unrecognizable.

Kalica/Ali: "What's happening!?" the bewildered man asks frantically. He trips over his fallen sword as Kalica attempt to hustle him out. He bends over and picks it up almost reflexively. When he rights himself, he looks out and sees the silent Rorme attacking Brokk.

"Rorme? What are you doing? What is going on??"

The silent man's eyes flick over to him. The man seems to flinch.

"Rorme...what's wrong with you? Your eyes..."

A sense of satisfaction comes over Armin when his weapon strikes the crazed woman, the impact sending a jolt up his arms. The android smirks, but the expression lasts for only as long as her laughter. He blinks when the woman collapses and begs for her life; that feeling of triumph escapes him, leaving only bewilderment. And in her eyes, where before there had been madness, he could now see only one thing. Fear.

"I am not going to hurt you any more," Armin says calmly, realizing how he must look to the woman.

Brokk: Since I already posted about the attack on Brokk, I will leave it as is, but going forward I will have to remember the dwarven longhammers have reach!

Brokk feels the anger rising as he feels the sting of Rorme's blade.

    Perception for Brokk to hear Ali: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (2) - 1 = 1

    Brokk's attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
    Damage: 2d6 + 3 ⇒ (4, 4) + 3 = 11

A passing insurgent attempting to vault the bar bumps the haft of the longhammer in Brokk's hands throwing his powerful swing off by a hair. The head of the hammer slams into an overturned bar stool rendering it into kindling. Rorme makes no notice of how close he came to being utterly brained. No regard for anything resides in his crazed eyes.

Glen: Seeing the woman who was attacking them suddenly collapse, Glen can't help but be intrigued. Her confusion and subsequent panic proved something else was happening, something yet undiscovered.

"Another mystery? Or is it already linked to what we have seen," the goblin mumbles to himself. Popping out from underneath the table, he approaches the downed woman. "You can't stay here. I know you're scared and hurt, but if you just lie there, it will mean your death. We're trying to get out of here, so come with us. I greatly wish to hear what you can tell me about this."

The woman starts to insist she doesn't know anything, but Glen raises a pointy finger. "Save your strength. We should go."

Turning to Armin, the investigator cocks his head and says, "You should probably carry her. She probably won't make it out on her own."

    Goblin Dodge: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (9) + 8 = 17

    Llewyn: Perception: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (8) + 0 = 8

The voice and footsteps continue on unabated. Llewyn approaches the door and looks in. He sees the a storeroom filled with ale kegs and vats. Apparently the proprietor had a couple of his own brews in addition to some kegs of beer from other places. A couple figures seem to be exiting the main bar into the storeroom.

    Llewyn Perception DC 10:

Roswitha: It is clear it would be rather dangerous to try and cross the room. Most of the people in the room are behaving erratically and violently without order or purpose like they are all simply crazy. On the far end of the room at the bar, people seem to attempting to retreat out of a back door. Suddenly a crazed yell draws Roswitha's attention to a wild-eyed man charging up the stairs with a full bottle of wine being wielded as a club. A gnome in a nightgown thrusts his hand out, and the crazed man simply falls to the floor bonelessly. A heavy snore begins to erupt from him.

"How should we get out of here, Dongle?" the gnome says to another gnome next to him.

Llewyn: I need your Perception check and response to the previous bits of information.

Everyone else: The melee seems to intensify as the mob of crazed people are now fighting each other having subdued or killed the insurgents or other guests who have not already retreated to the upstairs or towards the exit behind the bar. The last bastion of sanity, the bar itself, has some of the insurgents' most capable fighting men and women outside of some of the bar staff themselves.

The scarred woman glances back towards Armin and Glen and is relieved they no longer seem to be in combat with the dangerous sword wielding woman. The half-elf Veliar heads out the back door and looks around. Seeing no immediate threat as only a few of the staff and insurgents seem to be securing the room, he motions to Corinne and moves out of sight probably towards an exit into the night. She follows clutching Arielle tightly. The girl seems to be somewhere else as the sigil on her forehead continues to brighten. Arielle's Round Seven action.

As Miyari follows, she can clearly see the flying dwarf from earlier and another dueling student locked in combat just in front of the bar area. Kalica and her friend Ali are already behind the bar and Ali is tugging on the arm of an upset student who is yelling to the one fighting the dwarf.

    "Snap out of it, Rorme!"

Llewyn can just make out a crouched form looking down from the roof. Where he's positioned himself makes it hard for the person to see him.

The voice sounds an awful lot like Cerwek the waitress. Llewyn can also hear more people entering the back storeroom and are now approaching the door near where he's crouched.

Roswitha, entirely uninvited, addresses the gnomes like she's known them her entire life, pointing up the stairs in the direction from which she came. She makes a smearing motion with her right hand in the direction of the lower staircase, hissing a few slippery syllables as she does. The stairs take on an odd sheen as she smiles and nods towards them, speaking to the gnomes again.

"Besides, those stairs look a bit hazardous. Up is better. Up and bar the door or up and find a window. Toss pillows or the bedding down if it's a long fall. I'll be behind you... eventually." She surveys the confusion in the room with some satisfaction, setting a quarrel into her crossbow as she does.

Not because he thought she would attack again, nor because this rather strange stranger was telling him to do something, but because he had only seconds ago abandoned the thought of smashing her into a pulp - would she really trust him to carry her to safety? It was quite an awkward turn of events, really. Stowing his weapon on his back, he stoops down beside her.

"Come on. I'll get you out of here," he says; assuming she does not resist, he will pick her bridal style and move towards the exit.

A strange light fades from the man's eyes, and he looks around in bewilderment. He is just as surprised by the pain in his left leg which does not seem to be responding when he tries to jerk away from the mob as several crazed people begin to rush towards the bar area.

Dongle and the other gnome glance back at Roswitha and then look at each other. "Well, Pulosh," Dongle says. "The lady makes a solid argument."

When Roswitha casts grease on the stairs, Dongle nudges Pulosh in the ribs. "How come you didn't think of that?"

Pulosh gives Dongle a withering look. Turning to Roswitha, he says, "Lead on, human maiden! We'll stop by our rooms and grab our things as well as our comrades."

Brokk's grin widens as his opponent falls to the ground, unable to stand any longer. Another time! Plenty more fighting to come!

His eyes glance over the crossbow bolt protruding from the woman "Err... mistreatment my lady, but you were much less reasonable only moments ago. However now is not the time the others are already exiting the establishment, make haste, we mustn't lose them."

To Armin the little Goblin says "Fear not Glen will not simply abandon you with her burden, he will try to keep the crowd away and keep attackers off of you."

True to his word Glen makes his way to Armin attempting to push and shove the crowd to make some kind of space, he is unfortunately about as good at this as he would have been at carrying the woman himself. He puts his shoulder into it pushing with all his might against a large man directly in Armin's path his own feet scrape and slip against the floor, but the man doesn't budge an inch. The man suddenly shifts causing Glen to fall flat on his face. Shows of strength don't appear to be his strong points on the floor he gets stepped on and receives a bony knee in the face as he's getting up. With a frustrated growl he bites chomps down on the man's leg finally getting a reaction as the man moves with a yelping jump to avoid any more sharp little teeth.
