Overland Map

As far as Rufus knows, there are a number of animals and creatures that may have been able to do this. Anything of human sized and having claws could do this. A bear maybe. Owlbear, possibly. It would have to be a shallower clawing for such a beast to do this. The Stolen Lands are home to a wide variety of different animals and creatures. It is hard to pin down any one creature.

I don't really feel like listing every single animal and creature that could be in the Stolen Lands. Safe it to say that anything you think it could be, has a chance of it being right now.

Your supplies having been given back, you set forth, now mounted, toward the site of the attack. Aleric, being a 'kind and gentle soul' (his words), offers to take you up to at least where he found the wagons.

The group arrives, not much immediately obvious. There is a fairly old fire pit, maybe 4 days old. Castor does spot a bit of blood here and there and the wheel tracks of the cart that had been on the side of the road. Beyond that, there are no tracks or other indicators of where the attackers may have come from or may have went.

Anything in the request to Restov that you guys put in is now available. You have the money that was sent as well as enough horses for each of you.

I take it there are no bodies to be recovered and everything that could be found by taking 20 on a Perception check was already listed in the post above; if so...

"Looks like we've struck a dead end. I had hoped we could at least recover their bodies and give them the proper funeral rites, but it seems there's little more we can do here" Xelani bitterly states with a defeated look on her face.

"Personally, I'm loath to proceed all the way to Restov. There's no business for us there, and Kressel's probably hanging from a gibbet as we speak: it's south that our duty lies. If someone survived, we're bound to hear from them sooner or later. If not... Erastil guide their souls, for they're beyond our reach now."

Since we're now all mounted, I have half a mind to go exploring some of the eastern hexes, perhaps even investigate the mites now that we're second level... What do you think?

Inactive

Korinne sighs with disappointment, but nods at Xelani's words. "It was worth a shot. At least now we know that there's little else that can be done. As far as continuing on to Restov is concerned..." she shakes her head. "I'm in agreement with Xelani on this one, I can't see much point in it unless we want to confirm that Kressel has been delivered and dealt with or if there are additional supplies that we might need to buy." Looking around at their surroundings, she adds, "Since we're out this way, we could do some additional exploration as we head back toward Oleg's..."

Male Half-Elf Cleric/Ranger(Guide) 1

Castor nods silently, unwilling to speak.

Please forgive me, Starsong. I wish I could do more for our lost friends, but duty has me held. I pray for your blessings, that they may have escaped safely.

Something else seems to occur to Korinne. "I can't remember, did Arawn mention anything about family or someone that would wonder about his...fate?" she says quietly, trying to keep her voice level and failing slightly with the last word. "Kesten would be able to see to notifying the families of his own men, but we're likely the only ones who can do that for Arawn."

If there's even any family to notify she adds, the thought of there not being one filling her with sadness.

Male Human (Kellid/Varisian) Cavalier (Standard Bearer)/Skald 4/1 [ HP: 38/38 | AC: 15 T: 12 FF: 14 | F: +7 R: +2 W: +3/+4 | Init: +1 Perc: -1 | Effects: Raging Song (Inspired Rage)]

Knowledge (local): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11
Knowledge (nobility): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (12) + 7 = 19, both to determine what Rufus might know of Arawn's family.

Overland Map

Rufus knows that Arawn was the son of a noble, who claimed he was Xanathos Surtova, the eldest son of the previous king. All records provided by the man were correct but there was quite a bit of uncertainty as to the claim. Arawn was set up to be next in line for the throne, a deal struck by his father and his childless brother to prevent civil war. However, scandal broke out that discredited Xanathos's claim when it became apparent that he had relations with inhuman creatures. Discredited, dishonored and basically broken, Xanathos threw away any claim to the throne and Arawn's claim with it. The whole family lost nobility status and were cast out.

The details after that are sketchy at best. Xanathos and his wife went out of public scrutiny and with no money and no land, haven't been seen since. I believe you can guess what happened to Arawn.

Male Human (Kellid/Varisian) Cavalier (Standard Bearer)/Skald 4/1 [ HP: 38/38 | AC: 15 T: 12 FF: 14 | F: +7 R: +2 W: +3/+4 | Init: +1 Perc: -1 | Effects: Raging Song (Inspired Rage)]

"None we are likely to find," Rufus replies, "nor would they thank us for the knowledge."

Overland Map

The group heads back to Oleg's. It's close to night by the time you get back and Svetlana insists you stay the night before heading back out. Refreshed from a good night's sleep, the group heads out in the morning, after acquiring supplies and informing Kesten of your intent. As you leave, you spot Aleric and Beneric talking to Oleg, probably talking him up for some venture. Based on Oleg's face, you have a feeling Aleric and Beneric will not be to successful with him.

With the horses acquired, I'll say that you can hold 10 days of rations for everyone if you need it. Most of that will obviously be packed onto the horses, obviously.

The group explores to the south west, going a bit into the forest. Your horses make traveling the plains a bit easier and while still not incredibly faster, traveling through the forest is still relatively fast.

As you move through the thick underbrush, Korinne spots not too far away, a clearing. You can make you what appears to be foliage, probably some sort of leafy greens of some kind. As you are about to turn to tell your companions, you see a head pop up from the heavy patch of greens. Small and reptilian, you easily identify it as a kobold. On closer inspection, you can see three other kobolds. You take note that they don't seem to be acting normally. They seem rather sluggish and are simply sitting around, not paying much attention.

You have a surprise round if you wish to attack right now. The Kobolds have not noticed you.

Male Half-Elf Cleric/Ranger(Guide) 1

Sense Motive: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (9) + 8 = 17

Intrigued by the Kobold's strange behavior, Castor tries to get a hunch of what might be going on.

Overland Map

Castor notices that all of the Kobolds have distended bellies. You notice some remains of some raddish not too far away from them, as well as some baskets with some raddishs as well.

Male Half-Elf Cleric/Ranger(Guide) 1

"Looks to me like they've had a little too much to eat... or ate something they probably shouldn't have." Castor whispers to the others. "See those radishes over there?"

Survival: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (15) + 8 = 23
Do those look safe to eat? What does Castor know about them?

Inactive

"Did they raid someone's garden?" Korinne whispers. "Look at the baskets," she points. As the group ponders their next move, she attempts to discern what sort of radishes the kobolds have been eating and whether they're poisonous or if the creatures are simply suffering from having overeaten.

Kn. Nature: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (12) + 9 = 21

Overland Map

Both of you believe that the radishes are a somewhat rare variety known as moon radishes. They are very sweet and considered delicious by many people. Their rarity makes them a small delicacy in some lands though they are more common in this part of the world. They are in no way poisonous. Almost certainly, the small, low inhibition kobolds have eaten themselves sick.

Male Human (Kellid/Varisian) Cavalier (Standard Bearer)/Skald 4/1 [ HP: 38/38 | AC: 15 T: 12 FF: 14 | F: +7 R: +2 W: +3/+4 | Init: +1 Perc: -1 | Effects: Raging Song (Inspired Rage)]

"As it happens," Rufus whispers, "I may be able to talk with them, if we wish to follow that course."

Inactive

"It's worth a try," Korinne whispers in reply. "They may be able to tell us more about the surrounding areas." Shooting the kobolds another glance, she adds, "I might be able to communicate with them, too. Let me know if you need my help."

Male Human (Kellid/Varisian) Cavalier (Standard Bearer)/Skald 4/1 [ HP: 38/38 | AC: 15 T: 12 FF: 14 | F: +7 R: +2 W: +3/+4 | Init: +1 Perc: -1 | Effects: Raging Song (Inspired Rage)]

Since the surprise round is almost certainly over by now...

Standing upright, with his hands raised placatingly, Rufus calls out in Draconic, Greetings, we mean no threat."
"Is this land territory of your people, or are you travelers?"

Diplomacy: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24, just in case.

Overland Map

One of the kobolds, hearing Rufus, gets to it's feet. It shifts a bit, seemingly off balance, before righting itself. It growls a bit at Rufus and says, threateningly, "You get away from here. This our food. This our land. You leave, never come back." The other kobolds, reacting to the one talking, get up and start to brandish their tiny spears at the group. They don't attack but they are quite threatening...for sick kobolds anyways.

Male Human (Kellid/Varisian) Cavalier (Standard Bearer)/Skald 4/1 [ HP: 38/38 | AC: 15 T: 12 FF: 14 | F: +7 R: +2 W: +3/+4 | Init: +1 Perc: -1 | Effects: Raging Song (Inspired Rage)]

Sorry it's been so long since I posted last. Work has been killer.
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19, does the kobold seriously think they can back that threat?

"It's trying to threaten us."

Overland Map

Sorry for the pretty extreme delay. I had some family matters to attend to.

It does seem like it will defend this patch with it's life. To be fair, it is obviously sick(though it may not realize that itself) so it's reasing may not exactly be sound.

Inactive

Draconic

Korinne also adopts a nonthreatening pose and calls out, "We're not here for your food, we're simply passing through. We didn't expect to meet anyone out here. How much of this land is yours? If we're supposed to stay out, we need to know how far we need to go!"

Diplomacy (Aid Another): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24

Male Half-Elf Cleric/Ranger(Guide) 1

Castor, not understanding the language, opts to let Korinne and Rufus handle the talking, but keeps ready, should hostilities break out.

Overland Map

"All this our land. You leave, now!" The kobold moves his spear from one side to the other, seeming to indicate what they own. The action seems to cause the kobold to lose it's balance for a moment and rights itself.

It seems like the kobolds are blustering, trying to intimidate you though not really succeeding(for probably obvious reasons). However, the do seem adamant about protecting this area.

Male Human (Kellid/Varisian) Cavalier (Standard Bearer)/Skald 4/1 [ HP: 38/38 | AC: 15 T: 12 FF: 14 | F: +7 R: +2 W: +3/+4 | Init: +1 Perc: -1 | Effects: Raging Song (Inspired Rage)]

"Σίγουρα τόσο ισχυρός ένας λαός όπως οι ίδιοι δεν έχουν τίποτα να φοβηθούν από εμάς. Είθε να μην μάθουν το όνομα των ανθρώπων που έχουν αφήσει αξίωση σε αυτά τα εδάφη?" Rufus hold his hands placatingly.
Aside, he mutters to the others, "I don't believe they are a threat.
Or rather,"
he shrugs, "I don't believe they are a threat we cannot counter, if necessary."

Draconic:
"Surely so mighty a people as yourselves have nothing to fear from us. May we not learn the name of the people who have laid claim to these lands?"

Overland Map

"We no afraid of you! You fear us! Sootscales rule this place and always will!" The Kobold says, seeming to prepare itself for the coming fight.

The Kobolds seem ready to attack though they aren't yet ready to make the first move. You feel that Sootscales is not a specific name but probably their clan.

Female Half-elf Paladin 2 (Divine Hunter) | HP 15/15 {effects: none} | AC 17 (Tch 12 FF 15) | F +7, R +6, W +7 (+2 vs. Ench.) | Init +2 | Perc +5, low-light vision

Woot! For some reason I stopped getting notifications about new posts! Funny this is - it only happened in regard to this particular campaign. Good thing I randomly checked; from now on, I'll be sure to check the threads instead of just blindly rely on my profile's campaigns tab.

Guys, my sincerest apologies for having fallen out of the grid for apparently no reason!

Xelani has been content to watch the events unfold, the language barrier and both Rufus and Korinne's competent handling of the situation suggesting taking a backseat as the wisest course of action. When the party opts for the diplomatic approach, she nods approvingly.

As the Kobolds try to muster whatever pugnacity is left in their bloated bellies, she whispers to her allies. "Rufus says we can easily overpower them, and let's say I'm quite inclined to believe him. Do we really want to, though? Is there anything we might gain by putting those little creatures down?" Her tone is one of sincere curiosity, she seems more than willing to follow whatever course of action the group suggests.

Male Half-Elf Cleric/Ranger(Guide) 1

"I'm not entirely sure. Do they represent a threat to the future kingdom we are to build? Would they potentially attack us later on? Is there any hope of making allies out of them? There are many questions at hand."

Male Human (Kellid/Varisian) Cavalier (Standard Bearer)/Skald 4/1 [ HP: 38/38 | AC: 15 T: 12 FF: 14 | F: +7 R: +2 W: +3/+4 | Init: +1 Perc: -1 | Effects: Raging Song (Inspired Rage)]

Is it knowledge (local) or something else to know whether diplomacy or intimidation works better with kobolds?
knowledge (local): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12
'bardic knowledge': 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8...
Sigh

"They aren't listening, but they aren't escalating either."

Overland Map

The lead Kobold seems to whisper something to his compatriots. They each take out a thin, long piece of leather and drop a stone from a pouch into the middle of the strip. A simple twirl and the three kobolds let loose with their slings, aiming for Rufus and Korinne.

kobold sling at Rufus: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
kobold sling at Rufus: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 1 = 20
kobold sling at Korinne: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 1 = 16

The rocks fly and one hits rufus and another hits Korinne. The rock dings a bit off of Rufus's armor, not doing too much damage though Rufus realizes that it will probably bruise him slightly.

The rock sent a korinne hits her arm but it is so weak that it doesn't really break the skin. Only a bruise will be left to make the spot where the rock hit.

Seeing the rocks hit(but probably not realizing that the attack did barely any damage), the central one smiles and says "See! We hurt you more unless you leave now." He brandishes his spear ready for a fight.

Rufus and Korinne both take 1 non-lethal damage. I now realize that, generally speaking, this is the saddest fight I have ever seen in an AP...

Male Half-Elf Cleric/Ranger(Guide) 1

Castor isn't sure how to react as the stones fly, though he notices how his companions appear mostly unfazed. He draws his bow and takes aim at the kobolds, but hesitates to fire at what he sees is a mostly harmless target already.

"... What do we do?"

Male Human (Kellid/Varisian) Cavalier (Standard Bearer)/Skald 4/1 [ HP: 38/38 | AC: 15 T: 12 FF: 14 | F: +7 R: +2 W: +3/+4 | Init: +1 Perc: -1 | Effects: Raging Song (Inspired Rage)]

"Alright, they weren't escalating..." Rufus corrects himself. Drawing his blade, (still sheathed), he points it at the apparent 'leader'. "That's quite enough," he calls out in Draconic, "if you are so strong, you won't be afraid to face me in single combat."
"You win, we leave. I win, you stop bullying us."
Korrine notices he has a slight difficulty keeping a straight face at the implication that the kobolds are bullying him.

The sheath is because Rufus is going to take the hit & fight non-lethal.
Of course, if he had stayed Cavalier, he would not have a penalty...

Inactive

"Αυτό είναι σωστό. Μπορείτε...ή ισχυρότερος πολεμιστής σας, από τη δική μας...που συμβαίνει σ 'αυτόν είναι," Korinne smiles, nodding in Rufus' direction before slowly taking a step or two back to clear some room. Noting his difficulty in keeping a straight face makes her feel better as she chews on the inside of her lip in an attempt to do the same. "He's challenged their 'leader' to a duel...if he wins, we leave. If Rufus wins, they stop ah...bullying us," she offers over her shoulder to Castor and Xelani.

Draconic:

"That's right. You...or your strongest warrior, against ours...which happens to be him."

It amuses me that Korinne has done more translating for Rufus than anything else in the game so far, hehe.

"Well, let's hope they've got enough wits in their scaly heads to accept the challenge. For their own protracted well-being, that is" she whispers in Korinne's ear.

Is "Interpreter" a recognized Kingdom Role?

Overland Map

The central kobold yelps an agreement and says, "Yep yep! Crak teach you why Sootscales own this land!" He seems to whisper something to his companions and then moves out to meet Rufus.

Kobold Init: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
Rufus Init: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 1 = 12

Rufus is first...this poor, poor kobold...

To be clear, Rufus and the kobold, Crak, are about 30 feet away from the other three kobolds and 30 feet from the rest of the group.

Xealni, there is not a "Interpreter" role...yet :P

Male Human (Kellid/Varisian) Cavalier (Standard Bearer)/Skald 4/1 [ HP: 38/38 | AC: 15 T: 12 FF: 14 | F: +7 R: +2 W: +3/+4 | Init: +1 Perc: -1 | Effects: Raging Song (Inspired Rage)]

Looking down upon the reptilian foe before him, Rufus shakes his head briefly, as though concluding an argument with himself. Without warning, his sheathed blade blurs in a conical arc to impact with a resounding 'crack!' into the kobold champion's ribs.

non-lethal Bastardsword attack: 1d20 + 6 - 4 ⇒ (20) + 6 - 4 = 22...
Oh dear. GMGM, may I elect not to confirm that crit? An average of 18 to 20 non-lethal damage could still kill him, potentially, unless he really is an heroic representative (I.E. has class levels greater than one) of his species...
Bastardsword damage: 1d10 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14 non-lethal...
Gulp, I might have just killed him anyway...
Note to self, pick up 'Golden Legion's Stayed Blade' ASAP.

Golden Legion’s Stayed Blade (Champions of Purity, pg 23):

When you’re dealing with large and secretive organizations, a dead enemy is just a corpse, but a captured enemy can be a tool.
Prerequisite: Base attack bonus +3.
Benefit: If you deal an amount of damage to a creature that would slay it outright, you can pull that attack, instead dealing only enough damage to reduce its hit points to –1, and leave it stable.

"Ouch" Xelani can't help but mutter as she hears she sound of ribs being pulverized.

She takes a few steps towards the combatants to assess the situation, trying to save the little kobold's life if at all possible.

Lay On Hands: 1d6 ⇒ 2

Overland Map

As the kobold falls, you see one of the other kobolds raise it's spear and yells "Vengeance!". It runs towards Rufus and the fallen kobold...but then realizes that it's compatriots are running in the opposite direction. Yelping and yipping it turns around and runs away with it's fellows.

With the potential threat fleeing, Xelani heals the kobold. It still seems unconscious, but it's not bleeding anymore...

Fights over. You don't believe the others will be back.

Male Half-Elf Cleric/Ranger(Guide) 1

"I won't lie. That was... rather pitiful." Castor says flatly. "Did you two learn anything before they attacked?" he asks.

Female Half-elf Paladin 2 (Divine Hunter) | HP 15/15 {effects: none} | AC 17 (Tch 12 FF 15) | F +7, R +6, W +7 (+2 vs. Ench.) | Init +2 | Perc +5, low-light vision

"That... will need some reworking if we ever write it down in some annals" Xelani jokes in agreement with Castor.

That said, the paladin kneels besides the poor, unconscious creature and pours all her remaining healing powers into it.

Lay On Hands: 1d6 ⇒ 3

Lay On Hands: 1d6 ⇒ 3

Lay On Hands: 1d6 ⇒ 3

Lay On Hands: 1d6 ⇒ 4

Once it has regained consciousness, she looks at it with an arched eyebrow and a quizzical, bemused expression on her face – as if to signify the time has come for it to follow his companions in retreat.

Unless someone wants to interrogate it, in which case she would restrain it beforehand.

Male Human (Kellid/Varisian) Cavalier (Standard Bearer)/Skald 4/1 [ HP: 38/38 | AC: 15 T: 12 FF: 14 | F: +7 R: +2 W: +3/+4 | Init: +1 Perc: -1 | Effects: Raging Song (Inspired Rage)]

Turning to the others, Rufus queries, "I don't recall, did anyone at the Leveton's say anything about radishes?"
Setting his blade aside, he nods in thanks to Xelani. "I suspect their tribe is called the Sootscale, which may mean something, or it may not."

Oh, Rufus will definitely want to ask it more questions, at least.

Female Half-elf Paladin 2 (Divine Hunter) | HP 15/15 {effects: none} | AC 17 (Tch 12 FF 15) | F +7, R +6, W +7 (+2 vs. Ench.) | Init +2 | Perc +5, low-light vision

Restrained it is then. Good thing we have plenty of rope. As for the radishes, I have no recollection, and a quick search didn't turn up anything. I only remember Bokken asking for fangberries...

Overland Map

The kobold looks around, bewildered, and sees the much larger group around it. It tries to get up, as if trying to run away, and fumbles when it realizes it is bound. It struggles a bit before deciding that it's futile and the just seems to yip and snarl a bit, like a bound dog.

Feel free to ask away. Also, Xelani, no requests for the radishes as far as I remember.

Male Human (Kellid/Varisian) Cavalier (Standard Bearer)/Skald 4/1 [ HP: 38/38 | AC: 15 T: 12 FF: 14 | F: +7 R: +2 W: +3/+4 | Init: +1 Perc: -1 | Effects: Raging Song (Inspired Rage)]

Sitting down in front of 'Crak', Rufus begins, "Let's try this again, why did you threaten us?"

Overland Map

Still squirming against his bonds, Crak replies, "What you mean why? You trespass on MY land! Crak defend land. Is Crak's right! Crak big chief in Sootscales! Crak defend Sootscale honor! You let Crak go or all of Sootscale come after you!" The kobold continues to bluster and sends insults out to Rufus, rather good ones considering most of them have to deal with Rufus' mother.

While the kobold probably is of the Sootscale 'tribe', Rufus doubts that anything else the creature said was true. It is also true that the kobold probably thought of this radish patch as 'his' though you have serious doubts as to if it is a part of the actual tribes territory.

Male Human (Kellid/Varisian) Cavalier (Standard Bearer)/Skald 4/1 [ HP: 38/38 | AC: 15 T: 12 FF: 14 | F: +7 R: +2 W: +3/+4 | Init: +1 Perc: -1 | Effects: Raging Song (Inspired Rage)]

Looking to the others, Rufus queries, "I'm beginning to fear they will all be like this...
which begs the question of whether or not we can even risk leaving them be. Individually, they are no threat. Unfortunately, I strongly suspect there are enough 'Sootscales' to be a genuine problem if they put their minds to it."

Inactive

"Hmm...I'm afraid you're probably right," Korinne sighs. "On their own, it almost seems...unfair...to tangle with them, but in large numbers they could be overwhelming. I can speak their language, but I'm afraid I don't know very much about them as a people...would there be any way to negotiate some sort of truce with them? Would they even honor one?"

Female Half-elf Paladin 2 (Divine Hunter) | HP 15/15 {effects: none} | AC 17 (Tch 12 FF 15) | F +7, R +6, W +7 (+2 vs. Ench.) | Init +2 | Perc +5, low-light vision

"Releasing him would at least appear like a gesture of good will – if they even understand such a concept, that is" Xelani muses. "Still, the moment we let his three companions go we've made our presence known to the tribe as a whole. Sparing it might at least prevent our relations from turning even sourer."

"See if you can get a hunch about where the bulk of those Sootscales operates from, so we can at least avoid any more accidental trespasses" she asks of the more linguistically-inclined party members. "I don't crave the idea of repeating today's encounter – only with 40 kobolds instead of 4."

Male Half-Elf Cleric/Ranger(Guide) 1

"This is quite the dilemma. We have no proof that the Sootscales would be hostile if left alone, but we can't be certain that they wouldn't. On the other hand, I certainly don't wish to become the aggressor in a conflict... This is quite the thorny issue."

Male Human (Kellid/Varisian) Cavalier (Standard Bearer)/Skald 4/1 [ HP: 38/38 | AC: 15 T: 12 FF: 14 | F: +7 R: +2 W: +3/+4 | Init: +1 Perc: -1 | Effects: Raging Song (Inspired Rage)]

Sorry I have missed out posting the last few days. I came down with a flu bug Thursday night & have alternated bed-ridden with being violently ill in the bathroom since then. Feeling better now.

Nodding at the other's opinions, Rufus sighs a trifle disappointedly, muttering to himself, "Lord Parsal had gelijk, het is echt veel makkelijker om gewoon ze te verslaan dan het is om te redeneren met hen."
Straightening himself, he addresses 'Crak' once more. "Φυσικά, παρακαλώ επιτρέψτε ανάξια εαυτό μας για να συνοδεύσει το ισχυρό πρωταθλητής, έτσι ώστε να μπορέσουμε να ζητήσω συγγνώμη στον αρχηγό σας στο πρόσωπο."

Halfling:
"Lord Parsal was right, it truly is much easier to just beat them than it is to reason with them."

Draconic:
"Of course, please allow our unworthy selves to escort the mighty champion so that we might apologize to your chief in person."

Inactive

Yikes! Glad you're on the mend, Rufus!

"Het is een schande, maar soms is het geweld is het enige wat sommige mensen...of volkeren...begrijpen," Korinne nods, looking rather resigned herself.

As Rufus makes his offer to Crak, she looks rather impressed. "That...that might actually get us somewhere! Good thinking," she says softly. "If our little friend here accepts, we may just be taking a detour to return him to his clan and apologize to their chief in person," she explains to Xelani and Castor, with a completely straight face.

Halfling:

"It's a shame, but sometimes violence is the only thing some people...or peoples...understand."
