Male Human Cleric/1

Hello GM! I am GMT and will usually post at around 7pm when I return from work. I may occasionally be able to post from within work...but unfortunately not today :(

Will post Hugo's entrance when I get back.

Male Human Cleric/1

TO GM - Will go directly to Father Grimburrow directly after first post. Just wanted some information around him first so I can engage appropriately (KN Local Roll). Also, Alexa was by the door, thought I'd seize the opportunity to kick off the convo while we wait.

As an FYI for all, I may be off the boards from Friday the 18th until Monday the 28th. I have attempted to download a program which allows me to tether my PC through my Iphone, but do not know whether it will work where I am going. Thus, I hope to keep up with my characters, but if I fall behind, feel free to DMPC me as necessary.

Alexa, thanks for the heads up.

I am back, getting caught up on all my campaigns, which is quite time consuming when you are in too many.

Am happy to be where ever you wish me to be, oh illustrious DM. (^_^)

Personally I am unsure as to the 're-summoning' of Master Smith. While I do believe there's nothing within the rules that says Madeline cannot bring the eidolon back to the plane...the time it will take and other considerations might make it a problem.

Am happy to have the fellow 'return' on the morrow...assuming any of the characters live to see such a time. :P

much cheers to you and yours.

Madeline:

"A summoner can summon his eidolon in a ritual that takes 1 minute to perform. When summoned in this way, the eidolon hit points are unchanged from the last time it was dismissed or banished. The only exception to this is if the eidolon was slain, in which case it returns with half its normal hit points. The eidolon does not heal naturally. The eidolon remains until dismissed by the summoner (a standard action). If the eidolon is sent back to its home plane due to death, it cannot be summoned again until the following day."

Dark Archive

Oh, and Madeline, you may want to revisit this, too:

"Starting at 1st level, a summoner can cast summon monster I as a spell-like ability a number of times per day equal to 3 + his Charisma modifier. Drawing upon this ability uses up the same power as the summoner uses to call his eidolon. As a result, he can only use this ability when his eidolon is not summoned."

*Nods* Indeed...though Madeline is waiting for what ever is lurking before she summons anything so as to maximize it's duration in combat. *Bows*

I am horrible at tracking xp but I will try to keep a note on Creel's sheet so we have a reference. Tracking xp seems rather fiddley which is why I generally prefer a "level when the plot demands it" system but I can work with this.

Dark Archive

I'm also cool with the "level with plot" idea, as well. If you want to go that route, we can.

I agree - RGM, if you just keep track of the exp and level us when we are at the correct amount of exp or when you think we need it is fine. I have not seen a pbp yet in which the players kept track of their exp, and can imagine all kinds of problems and complaints - "Hey, why did he get an extra 150 exp. Pout".

Dark Archive

Cool. Level with plot it is.

No. This was my personal "last straw" on recruitment. We play with what we have or we dissolve the game (or you find another GM). You guys - namely you, Vaghn and Madeline (and Alexa looks promising) - have been awesome, but I don't have the personal patience for the constant stream of drop outs.

Personally, I don't understand why people feel the need to be in 3-4 PbPs that they cannot commit too. Either play a game or don't. I just frustrates the ever-living hell outta me!

Okay, I've vented. On with the game!

Understood and frankly I agree with you. I know I am not always the best at prompt posting and lord knows I am guilty of slowing things down on occasion but I honestly try to keep up. If I can't I let folks know and walk away clean. There is a bard based homebrew on the board that I was selected for and built a fun mindchemist 1/ bard 2 to play. But I realized I could not give my best as life was getting busy. So I apologized and dropped out. Not happy as the game looked rather awesome but it was the right thing to do.

I agree that Vaghn, Madeline and Alexa look good. I think we can go the distance with this group.

Hey all. Had a PM from one of the folks from the recruitment thread asking about hoping in. I told them it was unlikely but I invited them to comment here if they felt like it. It is kind of nice to know we have lurkers.

If he is a reliable poster that is great. If he has 25 posts to his name and has quit two other campaigns, then I say stick with the four we have.

I just want to see this pick up, from what I have read, RGM has been doing a great job and we as the players need to pick up the pace to keep things going.

Other than me making comments, and Madeline responding to one comment, we have had no action since RGM posted on Tuesday. I rolled for a Channel Energy and Init for Hugo assuming he was still present (in the game, not as a player) and would have probably done that anyway.

I can try to push this group, but there is only so much I can do if others are not responding regularly. If someone is going on vacation or will be unable to post for a period, common courtesy says to drop a quick one line post in the OOC letting everyone know and asking someone, or RGM, to NPC the player until they return.

At present I am in 14 campaigns and average about 25 posts per day, so as long as others are posting and stating what they want to do, I will always be around to respond and help answer RGM's questions. On the other hand, if everyone has called it quits, let us know so that RGM can shut down the game and not have to put the time into something that nobody else is following.

I too would be disheartened to see our campaign fade into the dark.

Partly, of course, because that would in a way mean the bad guys have won. ;)

I will/would also welcome another player, but so as to not disgruntle our hard working Dm further, the participation required should not be treed enough.

Now...back to you regularly scheduled Zombie action. (^_^)

I believe RGM is giving Hugo until later today to post before he has him torn apart by the living dead.

The rest of us are waiting on RGM. Vaghn has an opening for another post if he wants to take it but all in all I think we are pausing to allow Hugo the chance to reanimate before we drop him and continue on.

Speaking of continuing on are you seeing yourself as more of a summoning/casting druid or rthe get in and get your claws dirty type?

Female Human (Varisian(Ustalav)) Druid(Menhir Savant)/4 - Monk/1 HP: 33/36; AC16, T15, FF15; F+7,R+5,W+11; Per +13; Init +3

Having never played a druid before, I had not really thought of it. More of a combo, a secondary melee fighter - we have Smith and you already. But definitely willing to summon lots of help (nothing cares less about undead stat and level drains than a summoned creature.) With my 19 Wis, I should be good on offensive spells if/when I get them (call lightning, etc.)

I guess I view myself more as a caster who has no qualm about stepping into battle when necessary - especially once I become able to change shape.

Male Workaholic, level 10

Hello all. As Creel had mentioned, I had been lurking and reading your adventures in Ravengro. :-)

I had submitted a sorceror with the undead trait originally - perhaps not the best of applicants I'll confess. If it helps your party, I am willing to take on other roles. A cleric if it looks like healing is more help, or ranger if more muscle is needed perhaps?

As for posting, I am currently playing in only one Pbp. It can be found here, and it has been one that definetly demands quick action! My character [Kellen] is up around 35-40 posts already. It has been a little more combat oriented, so having more role-playing is OK with me.

If it matters, my time is US East Coast and I generally post either early in the AM or late in the evening. I may get the opportunity to post during the midday or late afternoon, but that is not always the case.

RGM looks like he's been managing things pretty well given your circumstances and I hope I don't offend by butting in. I don't want to complicate matters or be an annoyance.

Thank you for your time and I hope I haven't blurted too much information. Good luck with the zombies. :-)

ALL - I gave Hugo two days. He still hasn't posted. He's now out.

I'm not going to bother to PM Hugo (Creel, you can if you'd like).

If Alex Martin wants to step in with another character (maybe a cleric, one of the acolytes from the Temple of Pharasma), I'm fine with that.

Really, however, it's up to the group.

HP: 28 / 28, Init:+3, Perc:+7,AC:16,Fort:+3,Ref:+4,Will:+3

I am fine with Master Martin stepping int to he breach.

Good health and long posting to him.

Agreed about Alex - a divine caster would be best considering that this is a fairly undead focused AP - at least that is my understanding although I have seen other APs take strange turns (for instance the second book of Counsel of Thieves seems to have a lot to do with putting on a theatrical performance, at least that is as far as I have gotten in it.)

Alex could simply take over Hugo - just give him a new name and avatar and join the party now would be easiest, otherwise, we could consider whatever character he wants to run to have done Hugo's actions unless it would be totally out of character.

We are at a good joining point and the graveyard and Harrowstone both could take time to get a new character in if we were to have him join organically.

Once again as the new entry, I will not object to what the older character choose unless is seems really absurd.
__________
If the new person does not step in as Hugo, I say Hugo suddenly realized that fighting undead was not all that it was cracked up to be, and decided to go back and hide in the temple.

As a note, I will be away from home for the next week. Should be able to post in the morning and evening, but there are no guarantees. If I miss a day and am holding something up, please have someone post for me. I doubt I will miss a day, but one never knows being in the road.

I've decided on a new initiative rule. IF you notify me you won't be available for a combat AND I run the PC from my end, your initiative will always be based on taking a ten. So, if you're modifier is +4, you'll go on 14. I'll act in your best interests, always.

If you DO NOT notify me, you're initiative will be a 1 (+ your modifier). I will have you fight defensively and protect yourself solely.

IF you just stop posting, you're probably going to die....

ALL - I will be traveling to the US, leaving Thursday night, for roughly ten days. I will be checking e-mail once I arrive in the U.S. (Saturday afternoon), as well as posting to the game, but the latter will be only once every two days or so. Please, during this time, focus on dialogue and such.

I don't care if Alex picks up Hugo, but if he does, it better be quick. Hugo is about to be eaten by a grue!

OK - thank you for the opportunity. Cleric is fine.

I don't mind trying a new coat of paint on Hugo. One change I was considering - are Aasimar allowed or is that outside the guidelines?

No problem - just wondering. Don't want to mess up the flow. :-)

I'll work on a revised character and post for your inspection in the next hour.

Thank you again.

I'm fine with an Aasimar, provided it looks mostly human and isn't an angel ripoff.

Here's the revised version using the majority of Hugo's stats and information. I have made some modifications for the racial change - mostly this impacts the feats/skills but otherwise kept close to the previous. Also, changed Player's Guide trait, so he's shorter on funds than Hugo - so changes on armor specifically.

Assuming he's passes muster with you guys and RGM doesn't crush old Hugo, I am assuming he's stepping into Hugo's place and "revealing" his new self.

I await the thumbs up, then I will post an action. Sound OK?

Valen:
Valen looks good. His back story is slightly problematic, though. (Hugo is currently fighting the undead in the Restlands with the other PCs) Please keep Hugo alive in the re-write (I would suggest you, unbeknownst to Hugo, followed him to Ravengro).

Otherwise, consider Valen good. I'll bring you once the re-write is done.

Also, once it's done, I'll be awarding you some "catch up" XP.

OK - see below.

RGM:
OK - I have hopefully made the story more workable to your plans now.

My previous version was done thinking I needed to insert him into combat right away - given that it seems everyone was waiting on Hugo's actions to keep moving. Hence the "disguise" effect - my next action would have been to channel energy and have "Hugo" disappear in a flash of light to reveal him.

Apologies for making that assumption.

I wouldn't mind some condensation of the story for myself - if there are some highlights I should know more about, I welcome them.

I started reading at the beginning and have gotten about as far as the players doing some research at the Magic Shop and Church. It looks like you've lost Giles and Torthen at this point; gained Heinrich and Dortlen; and Tharnik's been NPC'd as Kendra's manservant/bodyguard. I was planning to keep on reading, so no big.

For Valen, he may ask the questions everyone knows the answers to, but I wouldn't expect an "in-game" detailed explanation - probably just a recap spoiler from somebody - to keep things moving. This may lead to some "did you try X" questions - again I might spoiler that before asking for an in-game response. Does that make sense?
