The Vegepygmys Attack Ladim again!

First, two smaller ones from his right:

Attack 1 PRONE: 1d20 + 1 - 2 ⇒ (11) + 1 - 2 = 10
Attack 2: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 1 = 15
DMG: 1d6 ⇒ 6

After straining its little plant body following Ladim's attack, one of the creatures falls dead.
0HP disabled monster dies due to -1 HP on standard action.

Another small Vege steps up and attacks above the corpse of his bretheren!

Then the large Vegepygmy attacks with a glowing mace.

As Ladim is being swarmed by endless waves of vegepygmies, he remembers a wise, intelligent and incredibly handsome man's words,

Actually, the 15 doesn't hit, Ladim has Mage Armor on, and has an AC of 16. Should've clarified that.

As another vegepygmy attempts to stab Ladim with his spear, the moment the spear impacts, the tattoo around the wound solidifies and the spear knocks away harmlessly, chipping a piece of bone from the tip. "Haha! Wankeeeer!", Ladim shouts back, seeing the first one bleed out after his feeble attempt at an assault. Turning to the side, another spear jams in his leg, and a glowing hammer smashes in his side, with the sound of crunching bone. PAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAIN!!!!.

Ladim is on 1 hit point at the moment. Wouldn't mind some beatstick assistance.

Funny post Ladim. But I still have no idea how you opened the door to the bathroom, and then somehow wandered 50 or 60 feet away, through at least two more doors AND opened another door with enemies behind it with no allies nearby. I was still yet to post about "exploring" the urinal.

Is it my turn yet? We really need to post Round by Round on our posts too, so we know where in the battle/rounds we are….

@TRO - I'd say you need to make sure folk are taking their turns, and if not, bot them…Askra always fine to be moved and pushed around. ;)

As Felicia moves up and opens the door, Relas howls in pain as the ear-splitting screech reverberates throughout the corridor and throughout his entire body! The vibrating sensation in his skull causes an odd and unpleasant feeling as he backs away from the door, shaking his head in pain...

Ouch! Moved Relas back and Felicia up; the door to the room should now be open. Askra, I'm not sure where you are on the turn order; if TRO counts your move action as your action for Round One then you're done for the moment...if not, I think you should be able to act at any time.

"Gyeeeeeeee!"

Whether as a result of her shared bond with Relas, also stricken, or her own lack of mental fortitude, the ungodly screeching brings tears of pain to Palomia's eyes as she staggers, hands reflexively moving to cover her ears. The vibrating sensation in her skull brings on a sudden and intense wave of nausea and it is all she can do to not empty the contents of her stomach onto the floor.

Palomia had been holding her action but considering she failed her save and can't do anything but take move actions, I'll just say that she now acts after/simultaneously with Relas in the initiative order now - if that's acceptable!

Basically, I said that Ladim goes and opens the door, when the others accompany him there. Buut, it's also possible he didn't notice them taking a small detour to the restroom and stumbling onto lost and lots of vegepygmies.

Clairification:

Before combat, for a few days, all players were allowed to re-position/post actions, prepare for battle. During this time a few characters cast Mage Armor, opened doors, and chatted. This was OUTSIDE of combat, so there were no rounds. Everyone could act as they pleased.

THEN - Vegepygmies heard Ladim nearby, and surprise-rounded him, starting combat. Simultaneously, the Thought Monster began attacking Relas, Palo, Gwyndle, and Felicia.

@Felicia you have not yet made your will save.

Felicia opens the door and reveals inside.

A long table with various unusual stones and dirt samples heaped on it sits along the southern wall of this room, while to the north a line of metal desks with glowing panels and buttons are placed next to a large humming device. The heart of this device seems to be some sort of flickering sphere of reddish- brown mud or dirt. Dust covers much of this room, save for a strangely clean swath between the doors, which leads to the strange humming device.

Just beyond the door is the enemy, but it's looks like several blurry and fleeting images. Palomia, Relas, and Gwyndle all see different things. The vision of an old friend or family member, someone they once met or loved, a hated enemy, or an old pet. The hallucinations confuse the three party members!

@Palomia, @Relas, @Felicia @Gwyndle Make a WILL SAVE DC 14 at the top of your next post. Failure results in -2 Attack penalty against the monster.

@Felicia, sorry, you can't move, and open a door, and attack in the same round! You may save that attack roll for your turn in round 2.

As Askra swoops past Ladim, he spits blood loudly and shouts, "Nice to see you, love!" As the giant eartbreaker smacks the vegepygmy, spilling bodily fluids everywhere, Ladim takes another step backwards, and swings for a haymaker. A massive bolt of energy lashes from his fist, flying towards three of the vegepygmies, and exploding in a blue flash.

Full Round Action, Toppling Magic Missile at three of the other pygmies, unless the biggun isn't dead. If he isn't, the first one is for him.

Magic Missile: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
CMB trip: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (12) + 11 = 23

The first one in the blast is hit hard, smashing in the wall with a crunching noise, and falls on the floor, pulpy liquid dripping from its head.

Second target: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
CMB trip: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (1) + 11 = 12
Damn 1's

Saved from the brunt of the blast, the second one staggers a bit, obviously bruised, but keeps pushing onwards, clicking intensively at the opponents.

Third Target: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
Trip: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (17) + 11 = 28
I'm going to assume that Askra murdered the boss one here, that was a s%%+ton of damage.

The last impulse of the arcane haymaker collides viciously in another foe's thigh, twisting the knee backwards, arcane energy singing the flesh. The vegepygmy lets out a terrifying high-pitched scream, and collapses on the ground, holding its shattered limb.

I am assuming that they have the same HP as the other ones, but in my descriptions I didn't outright kill any of them. Their plantlike biology should allow them to stab me again, no doubt. Ladim would like to hid... tactically position himself behind BoB.

Having a more successful attack this time, the short sorcerer shouts back at the pygmies, "How you like me now, you little pricks?!", before he winces and murmurs, "Ow."

"Mom? Pops?" Gwyndle says when the door opens, his eyes widening in surprise. What are they doing here? However, he is just as quick to squint when he notices something off about them. They were blurry, out of focus, and what was more, there was something else there. Whatever it was, he knew that it couldn't be anything good.

"Hey, Relas, Felicia, look out!" he calls out, attempting to line up a shot past the big people and through the door.

Gwyndle casts jolt on the oogabooga.

Funnily enough, I haven't seen it, since I haven't been to the cinema in months. But, it obviously proves that I'm good enough to be a Hollywood script writer! :P In the case with the vegepygmy, with all the discontinuties it involves though.

Seeing BoB's greatsword tear apart the vegepygmy, Ladim wipes the green sludge from his face, his face the epitome of disgust. "Yeah, big bot, we kind of are. Well spotted." The battle turning around, he shouts at the two heavy hitters in front of him, "Woo! Get in there!"

Whoops, this is what happens when I move people around...Relas was initially up in front of the door. Once he got hit with that screech attack I had him back up and moved him accordingly on the map; I also moved Felicia up next to where Relas had been.

What is it???

Unable to make out anything distinct about the creature lurking within the room, Relas simply stares with an odd sort of fascination at what appears to his eyes to be a strange smoky haze...wait, was that an entity from his home plane?

She blinks in confusion for a moment as her eyes register a vision of her family standing before her. Her parents and four brothers all wearing the same detached, disinterested expression, one that she had grown accustomed to receiving most of the time when she was a child...

"No! None of you are real, you're all back home in Sevenarches and good riddance!" she snarls, anger flaring up despite the continuing waves of nausea that roll over her. "K...kick that thing's face in, Felicia!"

Gwyndle hits the creature with a shocking bolt, damaging it.

Felicia sees a haze of images, foggy memories of creatures standing before her. A tentacle reaches out from the haze and gently strikes at Felicia's head.

Felicia dodges the tentacle with ease!

Felicia responds with a swift sword strike, cutting into the creature.

Askra slams into the leader, which ...clicks and snaps angrily.

Ladim hits two smaller Vegepygmys, injuring one and nearly killing the other as he topples it prone.

BoB steps up and pulverizes one into Vege-confetti.

Ladim sees that the leader is not dead yet, and hits him with a magic missile, toppling him. Then the leader does something strange, and kneels down, lowering it's head and cowering.
It appears to be surrendering. The other small vegepygmy does the same.

The others quickly scatter and hide in the other room.

He'd have to aim a bit more carefully. The sorcerer points his finger out at the creature again, this time firing a considerably larger arc of electricity.

Elemental Ray (1st of 7): 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

"...or maybe not." Despite looking considerably more powerful, the ray's impact is comparable to the cantrip's.

BoB having no idea why the small creature lowers his guard continues his attack.

Ladim looks at the android, Oh, s+&$. Huh... Wait a minute.

Turning to BoB, he puts his hand on the android's shoulder, trying to turn him towards him and looks up at his face. "Right, BoB-y boy, It appears that they surrendered, which is... uhm, them terminating their combat sub-routines in order to avoid further casualties." Ladim lets out a racking cough and spits up blood. That's one big hammer

Continuing, he says in a calm voice, "It would seem that previous programming in you has activated and prevented you from attacking them, in order to avoid further... hostile activities and damage to allies. Usually, when someone surrenders, you back away and leave them be, but are ready for a counter-attack the moment they resume hostilities."

I hope those green bastards don't attack back... I like androids, but they're not the brightest bunch... And

Ladim stands behind BoB, and raises one hand peacefully at the vegepygmies, his other glowing with bluish flame behind his back.

I know that I can't use Diplomacy on things that don't understand me, but I hope they understand body language. If not, Ladim's going to blast the big one.

Askra almost swings again, but notices the plant-creature is down and pitifully surrendering. Gritting her teeth to hold in her unspent rage, the Kellid kicks the glowing weapon away from the leader, and holds Kaad's earth breaker in a ready stance, ready to club the thing's head off if it so much as blinks an….eye.

"Little….weeds! Damn you all to every Hell and all the Abyss!!! GHAAAAAAAAAH!" she shouts at the top of her lungs, all the pent up frustration and sadness unfortunately spewing out toward the larger plant-being.

"Ugh...Paloooo...I feel strange..." Relas whimpers as the odd sensations in his stomach continue. Still unable to make heads or tails of what he's seeing in front of him, he backs up another step, almost bumping into Gwyndle. "And weak..."

"Get him! T-teach him to make that godawful sc-screeching sound!" Palomia cheers weakly as Felicia and Gwyndle battle the strange monster. "I...I think this sickness might be pa-urgh!" she retches. As she looks up again, she flinches as Askra's scream of rage and sorrow echoes down the corridors and her stomach lurches again as she fears for the worst...

Askra yells at the leader after kicking his hammer out of his hands. It drops and clinks against the ground, still faintly glowing. The Vegepygmy leader looks up at Askra, much larger than himself, and cowers in fear. It begins speaking in something resembling a language by rubbing some inner vines together within its throat.

Ladim looks at the vegepygmy and says in a guttering, swamping voice, "Zobsrasr, ra daag kaxomgatem", gesturing towards the room down the corridor the others retreated in.

Androffan:
"If you go back there, we will not retaliate and will leave you be."

Diplomacy: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (9) + 12 = 21

They could have learned some Androffan, even though they probably can't speak it. Other action would be holding the same charge if possible.

As the last of the oogy feelings fade away, Relas realizes that poor Felicia is fighting on the front lines alone. "I feel better now! Hold on Felicia!" he calls as he charges forward. With a snarl, he attempts to snap at the strange creature.

However, the continually shifting form of the creature proves to be a distraction and Relas' jaws only close on thin air.

Relas failed his save earlier and so is taking a -2 penalty to his attacks.

The nausea thankfully fading away at last, Palomia coughs and straightens up to face the monster down the corridor. "Okay, now you're going to get it..." She moves down the corridor to stand behind Felicia, placing her hand on the woman's shoulder and muttering a few arcane words to grant her next action a little more oomph.

With Felicia and Relas in range to give the creature a nice pounding, Gwyndle decides to lighten up on the galvanic fury. Well, maybe a smidgen more wouldn't hurt.

The Vegepygmy leader looks at Ladim, then looks around as Ladim speaks with a stupid look in his vines. He then leans down to the ground and begins to draw on the white floor with his slimy vines. He draws a few lines, and beneath those lines are tubes and corridors, and then many scribbles. He then points to them and points to himself.

Because of my charmed life ability, I'd really like to roll my own saves. I have to decide to do so beforehand, but I can add 3 to that crappy save.

In an effort to assist Felicia as well as move out of the line of fire, Relas sidesteps through the doors next to the weird creature before unleashing a flurry of teeth and claws! Though his claws catch only air, he finally feels his teeth connect with...something, albeit not with as much strength as he was aiming for.

Ladim looks up from the ground, Is it a plan for a weapon? Are they that intelligent? A secret tunnel?, before giving up on the plans, and saying, "Yeah, BoB-y boy. Go on right ahead, Askra hear can keep me prot... I'll take care of her, I mean.", last sentence muttered out in a pained smile as he feels one of his ribs decisively moving in the wrong direction, looking her straight in the eyes.

He then looks at the pygmy and attempts looking at the map-plan-hieroglyph-donut-receipt one last time, and nods. "Askra, hen, do you think we should go and help the others? Don't suppose you got a spare potion or something? It's not that I'm complaining, it's just that I'm pretty sure I'm not supposed to be leaking that much red fluids." Fist still glowing in blue, he continues, other hand at his hip. "Think we should leave these little gimps alone? I don't think they'd attack again, and I'd rather save my spells for someone... more important.", gesturing non-threateningly around the vegepygmies.

Action is readying a non-Toppling Magic Missile, Move Action would be walking up the hallway if escorted by Askra.

But the monster is not nearly as quick as Felicia.

Exasperated, the Vegepygmy leader draws again. Something like a dome, and beneath some squiggles. He points to the squiggles. He slams his vines against the dome, and then against the walls and floor in a fit. It begins scraping at the white floor like s dog, then stops and points to the squiggles.
