He has asked us to persuade you to ally with him, he is a powerful friend, and one who knows well the worth of secrets. I think you would be well served in sharing with him, I doubt he would seek to deprive you of opportunities, and am indeed confident he would offer you more."

The madam raises an eyebrow. "I have never heard of this Torch person. Why would I want anything to do with him?"

Marianne taps her nose, "Exactly, see discrete." But realising she is being far from persuasive she looks to her fellow Pathfinders for rescue, wishing fervently she could just go giant and solve the problem with her spear.

Rapunzel leans over to Arvoandeon and whispers in his ear.

Fastenhyme strolls over to the garden and reaches to pull a flower.

Arovandeon had already noticed a few interesting things about their meeting with Madame Zelekhati, and was forming a diplomatic approach when Rapunzel's not-quite-subtle prodding had him reconsidering the odd phenomenon among the sand.

As the party begins to peer at the garden, the patterns suddenly stop.

Arovandeon keeps his eyes on the sand. "Grandmaster torch is interested in how you gather your secrets, and wants to know what secrets you currently hold. He does not wish to end your business, but he also does not wish a rival." Arovandeon looks to Madam Zelekhati and raises and eyebrow. "But perhaps he was mistaken about your role here - should we be speaking with the sandman instead?"

Loenor cocks an eyebrow. "Sandman? I think the fumes have gotten to this one," he mutters to himself.

Our intentions are to leave without violence. So can we talk peacefully?

Madame Zelekhati stares at the party for a long moment. "I'm not sure what you mean, "gathering secrets". I am an honest business owner." She looks back to the garden. "What is a sandman?"

Marianne has no idea what Arovandeon is talking about, and the half elf is clearly a good liar. She casts about for something that might serve as a club.

"A sandman is a native outsider from the elemental plane of earth." Arovandeon explains to his companions. "It is the source of the disturbance in the sand."

Turning back to Madame Zelekhati. "If the sandman is not under your control, then perhaps it is the servant of someone else. We should destroy it." Arovandeon stands up and reaches for a small ceramic sphere, one of his bombs, at his belt.

Im not attacking just yet, but did My knowledge check reveal any resistances to energy or weapon types?

Marianne grins, "Unknown monster in this good ladies sand you say? We would be poor guests indeed if we did not destroy it!"

Nicely done Sir!

Fastenhyme had bent down to pick a flower out of the sand bed, believing the shiftiness was an illusion. At Aro's mention of something alive in the dirt, the stiff magician recoils and steps back.

Loenor looks to the garden, pulling on his trident at the thought of an unseen assailant, only to be given a jarring reminder that it is peace-bound in place.

As her companions ready for action, Rapunzel's hair begins to snake and sway gently as her eyes focus in on the sandman.

As Arovandeon mentions destroying the sandman, Zelekhati becomes clearly agitated. As the other party members begin to ready themselves, she says. "You impertinent fools! How dare you come into my establishment and threaten me! Get them!" She screams.

She then points at Arovandeon and fires a ray at him, hitting him with the beam of acid! Note that your "Flatfooted Touch" would be 10.

Loenor hastily undoes the peace-bond on his trident whilst stepping forth a bit closer to the woman.

"Ahh!" Arovandeon recoils from the burning acid.

Stepping away from the sands, he plucks a small vial from his belt, dislodges a wax-sealed cork from the top and swiftly drinks the elixir within. The taste of copper and honey passes his tongue briefly, followed by a tingling numbness ascending the left side of his jaw. There is a sharp sting when it reaches his eye. To the observer it was a startling change - the pupil expands well beyond the normal range, giving his eye the appearance of having turned black. His sight fades from that eye, assigned to a partition in his brain tapping primal instincts for self-preservation. His body begins subtle movements beyond his control, directed by this second mind to avoid threats and danger.

Fastenhyme fires a ray at the madame, striking her. The half elf woman cries out and rubs her eyes as she loses her sight!

Marianne break the peacebond on her weapon and grows in size!

As the sandman attacks, Rapunzel, Marianne, Loenor, and Fastenhyme begin to feel drowsy! All need to make a Will Save DC 16 or fall asleep

Rapunzel is able to easily evade the snadman's clumsy attack.

As the Madam begins to cast Marianne sinks her longspear into her side inflicting a terrible wound. Then she staggers yawning hugely as she dwindles back to normal size and falls asleep.

She provokes and is within range of Marianne's Longspear hit AC 24 for 12 damage.

Fastenhyme springs a wand into his hand and fires a Magic Missile at the elemental creature.

Unable to dertermine the nature of Zelekhati's spell in the chaos of combat, Arovandeon decides to throw his bomb at the sandman.

Loenor and Rapunzel prove immune to the sandman's sleepy aura, while Fastenhyme resists his yawns! Marianne, on the other hand, shrnks and falls to the floor, snoring embarrassingly loudly!

Loenor moves to cut off Zelekhati!

Arovandeon tosses a bomb at the sandman, and it hit the outsider squarely!

Fastenhyme then fires a force projectile form a wand, hitting the sandman!

"Give it up now madame! We don't want to harm you no more!", Fast calls out over the battle.

Rapunzel tries to grab the sandman again, but only comes up with loose sand sifting through her fingers!

Izoki levels his musket and with a loud boom, puts a bullet in the outsider! If anyone in the tavern didn't know what was going on, they do now!

Hearing people around her, Zelekhati step north and turns, casting another spell, shooting light from her hands!

"No, don't they are my muffins... ZzzzzzZzzzzzz," Marianne mumbles, rolling over and attempting to make herself comfortable on the floor as she sleeps.

"Rapunzel, I believe Izoki and I can handle the Sandman. Turn your attentions to Zelekhati and maybe we can take her alive!"

Arovandeon then prepares and throws another bomb at the sandman.

Izoki runs over to Marianne, shakes her shoulder and chirps loudly. "Wake up sleeping beauty!

As she is blind, she cannot 5-foot step, so I get an AoO as she moves away.

As the madame moves away, Loenor reaches out to stab her.
