It doesn't take long to remove the entrails from the basin, though there's not much you can do other than tossing them on the ground. Well, somebody ought to be able to clean them up later, disgusting though they are. Nothing rises to attack, however.

WIth the basin cleared she planned on returning to the room at some point and removing them fully. However for now she takes the vial of holy water and dumps it into the basin in a last effort to right it. "In the name of the Inheritor I will see this place restored." She whispers it over the basin and in the presence of the painting of warriors with upturned swords.

WIth that done she gets up behind Julian and taps him on the shoulder, urging him to proceed...

At the top of the spiral stairs, a wide hall stretches for thirty feet before ending in a door. Two alcoves on both sides of the hall hold torches that burn with white light. Each torch illuminates a pedestal, on each of which rests a battered and broken steel helm.

Julian's being rather stealthy, but Rowan and Tarov aren't - and as you finally emerge upstairs, you see a minotaur standing guard. Blood-red fur and glowing yellow eyes leave little doubt as to its Abyssal nature, and the moment it sees you, it lets out a roar and gets ready to charge forward.

Round 1

Tarov moves in front of the others and kneels, propping the butt of his ranseur against the ground to take the Minotaur's charge head on. "Stay behind me!" he calls to his companions, eyes locked squarely on the abyssal creature.

Tarov moves in front of Julian and Rowan (move action), declares a Challenge vs. the Minotaur (swift action), and readies an action to attack when it comes in range (standard action). If the attack hits, he uses Armiger's Mark on the it (free action).

Rowan moved behind the dwarven knight and called on Iomedae's aid to enhance his armor so that they would not fall so easily to the beasts blows. Julian's bomb was accurate, but the beast's flesh dispersed most of the flames, and it would clearly take far more than that to stop the creature. As he lands where he hopes he is needed he lashes out with Einherjar to cut along the tall minotaur's calf muscle and hopefully slow it down!

@Rowan:
Irabeth's sword is a +1 evil outsider bane longsword.

Tarov's ranseur plunged into the creature's flesh, followed by a strike from Rowan a moment later. Julian, in the meantime, was slipping around to the side (risking, and succeeding, at a dodge) before cutting out with his black blade. The creature had obviously been wounded, but just as obviously it was still on its feet, and it bared its teeth at Rowan as it saw all the holy iconography on its shield.

Without hesitation, it swung its horns around and struck out in an attempt to gore her, bellowing in hate as it did so.

The combination of blows is a bit too much for the creature, and finally, it slumps over as blood pours out of its body and across the floor. All that remains is the door in front of you... the last door in this building. He had three bombs left, no useful spells and plenty of Arcana to spare for a few minutes of fighting. Einherjar thrummed with the thrill of the battle ahead, if the wardstone was still there they would not fail to destroy it. AS the seconds ticked by his ward remained, but only for a couple of minutes. "Lets do this, I've got nothing left to do." "No matter what is on the otherside we get Julian to the Wardstone and Destroy it. I must save my spells for what lies beyond the door. This time I will go first, Julian is too important and Tarov you need to be ready to defend him. Please stay ten feet behind me."

Tarov still has at least 30 rounds of Pro from evil left. I did the lvl 1 casting not lvl 2 communal.

Iomedae grant us victory even at the cost of my life to succeed, I will gladly pay that price. For Kenebras. For Fallen Sarkoris.

Rowan smirk's grimly as she nods to her companions. "I've always wanted to drink a Dwarf under the table. Besides the heretic here can't be trusted on his own." Another pointed joke but as she started her incantations to open the door she trned away and smiled broadly. Knowing that she had strong allies behind her.

The door slams open as Rowan targets it. This circular room's original purpose is unclear, but now it seems to be a trophy hall of some sort. A low stone pedestal sits on the floor in the middle of the chamber under a domed ceiling. Atop the pedestal is an iron, barbed cage-and within the cage sits a chunk of softly glowing white stone.

Within is a single figure - a deformed woman holding a scythe and glaring hatefully at you. Her very body seems to be wasting away, but she's also covered in bone armor... which doesn't explain how disheveled she is.

"I was wondering when you'd finally get around to coming up!" she spat out. "But your little quest ends here!" She gripped her staff a little tighter, and even from here, you could feel the pure hatred emanating from her body as she prepared to kill you - or die in the attempt.

Rowans body thrums with divine might as she raises Irabeth's family blade and points it skyward. For a moment the room seems to still before the sudden hammer blow of divine power floods into her body. The room is filled with a golden light that floods the blade in her hand with the power of her forbearers. Her hair becomes the color of flames and glows like red hot embers as her eyes taking on a fiery glow full of righteous fury. Sitting above her brow was a faint halo, cracked but present and shimmering faintly as all her might was brought to bear against their foe.

In celestial! "I won't let you stand alone Tarov..."She points the sword and anyone would know that she had marked the woman as her foe as a faint shimmering barrier started to surge around her. "In the name of the Inheritor together we will rain justice down upon you with our blades!" She makes a gesture, twirling the tip of her sword in a circular fashion as she adds. "On your KNEES heretic!"

The woman's hand seemed to flick through the air as she simply backhanded Rowan's spell, but Julian's bomb caught her full in the face a moment later. She darted forward a moment later, moving up to the doorway and blocking entrance to the room - it wasn't large enough to allow others to bypass her, but it did bring her face-to-face with Tarov. Without even hesitating, she swung her scythe out at the dwarf, aiming not for him... but for the weapon he was holding.

For the purpose of Armiger's Mark, attacks against your weapon (or anything else you're wearing/carrying/displaying/whatever) count as attacks against you.

Weapon clashed against bone, and bone won out as the woman shoved Tarov's weapon away, then swept out in a quick attack of opportunity against Rowan owing to the woman's horrible Bull Rush attempt.

AoO (vs Rowan): 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (3) + 13 = 16

The swing missed, however, and she sidestepped Julian's attack a moment later. She whipped her scythe through the air two times a moment later, each time aiming for the blessed blade Rowan was holding.

The blows were heavy, brutal, and... only managed to damage a small part of the blade Rowan was using.

By my calculations, that longsword has 14 hardness and 47/50 HP.

The woman spat out an infernal curse a moment later, clearly displeased at how resilient to damage the weapon was. Of course, if she wasn't hitting the weapon, she'd soon be aiming for you... and hitting her with standard attacks was clearly difficult at best, especially given that she was still blocking your passage into the room... and the wardstone you were here to destroy. One way or another, you had to get past her if you were going to succeed in your mission and remove the threat that the wardstone's fragment represented.

Blood splattered to the floor but luckily she had punctured a body cavity. He would survive as long as she didn't. He didn't realize though until after he swung at her again that the damage was more severe than he thought. Not only was his strike far off target but he was fumbling...

Woo Bring on the fumbles! :D!!!

Woman. And fumbles aren't a player thing. XD They're something certain NPCs are risk for. And Rowan, this woman isn't an outsider.

In a flash, Rowan warped behind the woman, using magic to bypass what pure skill couldn't do. Her sword crashed into the woman a moment later, though it didn't flare as brightly as it would have if she'd been one of the creatures it had been forged to slay. Julian's blow, on the other hand, simply bounced off of her armor... and she turned to slash at Rowan, a ragged and desperate edge to her heavy strikes as some of the light around her disappeared.

He dug out the rod of cancelation and dropped it on the floor as Rowan reached him. His tail worked to bring him another bomb component as he readied to defend himself once more. He mixed the concotion and affixed the woman's hateful comment with his own.

"You first!" He lobbed the bomb, negating to hit Tarov once more and blasting the woman with his alchemical goods.

Round 6

Tarov takes the blow with merely a flinch, adrenaline and pure resolve allowing him to endure the woman's blade. "Waitin' on ya, lass!" he practically spits in her face, before making another powerful thrust. Gripping his weapon tightly, his skin seems to turn the color of granite.

Tarov maintains Inspire Courage (free action), uses Blessed Pinions on the woman (standard action), then activates his ranseur's special ability (swift action).
