THat was the perfect time for a Critical, honestly. Made it very obvious that no one talks about Julian's mom... Unless they like to be slashed into meat cubes. :)

Hopefully my spell breaks through because Tarov could smash the hell out of his guy than...

ᕦ(ò_óˇ)ᕤ

I totally love this site...

So the plan...

Julian Leads the Way, followed by Tarov and Rowan.

Rowan's Alarm alerts her if anyone leaves the locked door area.

We proceed down to level one, clean house, take some injuries an assess whether to continue on or not.

Hopefully we come out a little worse for wear but able to continue.

Feral mutagen grants Julian a Bite and 2x Claw primary attacks however one of these claws is replaced by Einherjar in his dominant hand. It doesn't increase his damage output much as he doesn't get dex to damage on these Natural attacks but he does get Weapon Finesse to them. So he will hit more often but it takes a full attack to utilize them fully.

So on average.

Einherjar - 11 dmg per strike
Claw - 4 dmg per strike
Bite - 5 dmg per strike

Against a regular cultist I would tear them up. Anything with Damage reduction and Claw and Bite are nearly useless which is fine, wasn't trying to go munchkin just a fun melee option for Julian. :)

GM Rednal Is Deadly Agility an allowable feat from the Path of War book? Only asking as it would only be useable in Feral form really but wanted to know if my option was open.

*Flips through things*

Aaaaaand... what're you aiming to use that with? You've already got Devish Dance, which kind of does the same thing, and they wouldn't stack...

Also, I see you're spelling it "Einherjar" instead of "Einharjar" now. XD

Julian Religion: Desna | HP: 96/103 | AC: 27 / T: 23 / FF: 14 / Resist: Fire 5 Defiant Armor - vs Evil Outsiders +2 AC DR 2/- | F: +8, R: +14, W: +8 | BAB +6 CMB: +7 CMD: +30 | Ini: +15 Perception: +15

Daedly Agility Deadly agility was going to be situational sadly, it would have allowed him to use his dex with the claws and bite of the Feral mutagen. Other than that it wasn't very useful so I was wondering so I could redo my build and figure out if it was worth or not (most likely the latter). It was just neat to think of him as a rough and tumble beater in that form but I can always get an amulet of mighty fists with Agile enchantment and do the same thing without a feat.

Just curious~

Sword Name Einherjar is the correct spelling somehow I goofed it up and when you pointed it out I had to fix it for my own sanity. xD

*Studies up on this* Aaaaaaand... according to a post from the Design Team (here), Natural Attacks are indeed light weapons.

Personally, I would recommend going down the Amulet of Mighty Fists route. Having a feat that only provides a benefit in Mutagen form may not be the best option (though it's entirely legal, given that Path of War is an accepted book for this game), given the limited nature of your feats... and the fact that you could craft more abilities into the amulet. XD It's up to you, though.

Julian Religion: Desna | HP: 96/103 | AC: 27 / T: 23 / FF: 14 / Resist: Fire 5 Defiant Armor - vs Evil Outsiders +2 AC DR 2/- | F: +8, R: +14, W: +8 | BAB +6 CMB: +7 CMD: +30 | Ini: +15 Perception: +15

Yeah, it was more of a cool factor but the magical item is the better more flexible option.

I was just looking at things last night and tryingn to make him a useful fighter in mutagen form since I am not a strength/rage build. :/

But at these low levels massive DPR isn't a must, its nice but we have Tarov. :)

Hehe I wasn't complaining, thats the fun of this gaming. Unlike a video game the unexpected is a very real deal and that type of random occurence makes the game more gritty which is great!

I am hoping we don't have to run from the Grey Garrison but if we do we will have at least put a large dent in them...

I am glad though we were able to finish helping the Mongrelfolk, I hate leaving possible quests incomplete or forgotten. :/

I think by far WotR is one of my favorite AP from Pathfinder. Kingmaker is pretty high on that list too.

WotW is a really neat one but I haven't made it into yet lol. Read the players guide portion and it sounds fun. >:)

I might run a Way of the Wicked campaign someday, but for now, I have plenty of games to keep me busy. XD That aside, I don't think you'll need to run.

Hehe I have thought about it too but I am having enough trouble taking care of my own games lol.

__________________________________________________________________________

I won't claim a victory until the last enemy falls lol. I have been in a game on the boards where we had a good thing going and than two characters got one shot by the three 20's in a row. Mine was one of them. :(

But this is fun regardless if we win the first time or not. :D

__________________________________________________________________________

I have tried a few times to get into the WotW but my characters are way too underoptimized/not super villiany enough I think.

I recently built a (gestalt) magus / Psion (Telepath) -> eventually become a thrallherd. I was looking at doing a manipulator type character, using telepathy to conquer heroes and twist them to evil. >:)

Anywho back to fighting stuff! xD

Julian When will you learn you can't play a bad guy *smh*

You couldn't even be a bad guy in Fallout 3 (Julian = Fails)... :P

Being non-optimized makes GMs happy. XD It's usually much easier to run the adventure as-written, without needing to toss things into the blender and hope the resulting mix doesn't inadvertently kill all of you. (Not to be confused with the times when we try to kill you on purpose.)

Thats about how it ended, though I actually played through where I didn't detonate Megaton and I still got an in at the Tenpenny Tower. :P

Still can't be the most evil bad guy if there are other bad guys. Hence my joining WotW would be bad as I would be offing my fellows as soon as I could. Seriously evil aint evil unless your the supreme evil. >B)

Besides a little poison and attempted murder between evil people is par for the course, just shows how much you like each other....

Asmodeus might disagree with your backstabbing approach. Evil which backstabs even those who are still useful and helpful is often so... inefficient at spreading evil on a grand scale. What you really need is someone strong enough to be in charge, whom everyone else acknowledges, and then you can really get down to business.

Ascendent Rowan HP: 135/144 | AC: 25 T: 14 FF: 22 | F: +14 R: +13 W: +15 | Init: +2 Per: +7 | Smite: 1/1 LoH 7/9 | CMB +9 CMD 23| Effects: Resist Acid 5 Cold 5 Elec 5 AoC 10ft |Senses: Darkvision Perception +11 Aura courage (10 ft.), resolve (10 ft.) Speed 60

True, Lawful evil wasn't my style. I was more Chaotic Evil 2nd edition style. Annhilate everyone and everything. Much like Julian's beautiful Fallout vid. That was pretty much how I rolled. Use them until their spent and then pow drop them, take their stuff and find the next sucker! Although playing the Joker-esq type evil character is a ton of fun.

Fallout shenanigans:

Fallout 1 I tried wiping out the entire game map, nearly impossible task, but I almost succeeded until they took the strongest guys in the game and dropped like 200 of them in a single encounter on me. I was totally tore apart in under 5 turns, granted they had brought enough laser gats, rocket launchers and miniguns to level a small town. But who am I to complain, it was a hell of a death march. >:)

I later pulled it off and it was the saddest ending ever. I was basically a horsemen of death, where I walked only empty towns and sun bleached corpses remained for hell walked with this lonely wanderer. He eventually died in a gunbattle with a coalition of towns and brotherhood soldiers ambushed and killed him as he slept. XD!

The only good thing in fallout 3 was that they didn't allow you to kill kids. In F1/F2 you could gun them down. Thats the only time I bulk. Even if it is fake its a little f-ed up to shoot kids. Same with the baby octpus things in Dead Space, even the rolling toddler bombs made me wonder what pyscho came up with that.

*Glares at the dice roller* Tryin' to make a reasonably balanced fight and the randomness goes absolutely bonkers on you... ouch. XD;

*Waves flags weakly* Go, brave heroes! I believe in you! =D;

Ha! Ya see! The moment you think its too easy god throws a few curve balls and beat ya silly with a big stick. xD

Iknow it sounds like a cat poster but*Believe!*

Now unless I misunderstood this has been mostly fire damage which Julian resist 5 of each time. Resistances are always a hard thing for me to track but I just want to make sure that his HP is correct as so far he has only taken like 1 damage if I am reading everything correctly~

Julian would be taking considerably less damage, yes - though even that resistance wouldn't have helped much if hit by one of those crits. XD

In fairness, I can't say I'm disappointed - I did want this to be harder (given that the difficulty of this campaign is widely accepted as being 'low' to begin with), I just prefer the difficulty increases to happen intentionally. XD Oh well! Stuff happens!

HP: 32/36 | AC: 26 T: 20 FF: 16 | F: +6 R: +12 W: +5 | Init: +7 Per: +9 | Arc: 3/7 Bomb 2d6+8 (6/10 DC 18) | CMB +4 CMD 26 | Effects: Canny Defense; Resist fire 5

True that, I feel bad for Rowan and Tarov getting hit. At least we have some potions to burn through but man! xD

Bombs have that affect. Nods sagely Bombs make it so much fun, in fact Alchemist is slowly becoming a favorite of mine. Ranger/Alch would be a fun saboteur or even Rogue Alch. :3

Though Gun/Alch with infuse ammo is one I must try someday~

Though this is still a lot of fun! REsorurces are running low, we're in a battle of attrition here and throwing bombs back and forth makes it sort of funny. xD

Ya that was some damage there, had it been julian he'd probably be dead. But Rowan's has to do the smart thing and thats get out of dodge for now. On fire, unable to heal well and nearly unconcious isn't where I want to be in a combat situation. Julian is the only one who can withstand it for now, provided the guy doesn't have as many bombs as he does lol.

Paladin's don't normally pull back but its utter suicide to stand there like a fool. :/ Gives me time to knock the flames off me, process my mind attack and heal so long as Julian can hold them off.

It's also crazy that opening a door is a move action. NOt part of, but a stand alone move action. I really hope I can move 15 ft, open a door and than finish my movement. Or else Tarov will have a free path out of there and I will have another round of bombing lol.

Everyone, prepare to hit Level 5. You'll be upgrading fairly soon, and I'd like to have minimal disruption in the gameplay thread... so if you could post your planned updates here, and then do the actual updates when I give the word, that'd be great. ^^ Note that abilities will not be refreshed this time - anything expended now will still be expended after you level, though any addiitonal uses of things (such as new spell slots/daily uses) will be available.

5th level: Warder (Zweihander Sentinel) / Cavalier (Inspiring Commander)

Saves: +4 F, +1 R, +4 W (no change)

BAB/CMB/CMD: +5, +9, +19 (from +4, +8, +18)

HP 90 (72 + 18)

Skills: 45 (36+9) - Acrobatics, Craft (armor), Diplomacy, Knowledge (history), Linguistics (grabbing Infernal), Perception, Perform (oratory), Sense Motive, Survival

Feat: In Harms Way

Warder:

  • Extended Defense (Ex) 1/day
  • Silver Knight's Blade maneuver
  • Stance of the Silver Crane stance

Cavalier:

  • 16 rounds Inspiring Commands (14 + 2)
  • Inspire Courage +2
  • Inspiring Voice (Ex)

Going to lose a touch of AC, Init and Reflex saves using the new stance (it's constant Protection vs. Evil, which means it overwrites my Ring of Protection, but it also gives my weapon the Holy weapon property, which is going to be HUGE considering we fight like 99% evil stuff) but it's totally going to be worth it.

Also, I finally got my first really cool toy! Haha, time for extreme coaching from 10 or more feet away!

Actually, I have a question regarding Silver Knight's Blade. It says I do an extra 4d6 damage on the attack, and heal an equal amount of damage to that 4d6 damage. Would this be effected by Fey Foundling four times (once for each dice rolled) or once (because it heals a flat number equivalent to the damage done)? I'm cool with either way, I'm just not sure how this kind of thing works in practice.

For abilities like Chance Encounters reroll ability do you one it right after the acrobatic check or right after all rolls are completed.

Because I did it after the Acrobatics and inadvertantly gave myself a critical hit, so instead I switched around the roll so that the critical didn't fall under the attack as it felt somewhat cheap. >:(

But with the coming of Mythic there will be other times of this so I wanted to clear it up. :)

Honestly, it doesn't matter too much as long as you pick a format and stick with it. That said, I usually recommend doing it right afterwards.

@Tarov: *Reads through things* ... *Notices the clause identifying Silver Crane as Supernatural, not Extraordinary* SAVED! But by RAW, Fey Foundling wouldn't activate for Silver Knight's Blade at all - it says it heals per dice rolled, and if you aren't rolling dice for the healing amount, you aren't getting its benefits. This is almost certainly a case of trying to cut down on weird interactions - for example, if any flat amount would trigger it, Infernal Healing would suddenly be three times as good (and tripling the power of any spell without so much as a higher spell slot being used is, honestly, a bit much).
