LeMond Asher |
Asher draws out one of his potions of Cure Moderate Wounds from his bandoleer and drinks it.
Healing: 2d8 + 3 ⇒ (5, 8) + 3 = 16
Is Asher noticing the damage reduction on the metal man? Can I do an engineering check or something to confirm if Asher believes an adamantine bullet would help in this situation?
If so...: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8
Cretien Dufrene |
Cretien moves as quickly as possible to Falko, drawing a potion from his belt as he moves.
cure light wounds, will use on him as soon as i get there if no one else has stabilized him.

Round 7
And so we have failed to make any arrest but we can send the uniforms to catch her and have confiscated the good. so a minor victory i think ? he says casting a 2*CLW: 2d8 + 8 ⇒ (1, 1) + 8 = 10 on falko
and then a CLW : 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12 on himself and then his last CLW : 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9 on falko again
LeMond Asher |
With the taste of the potion still on Asher's tongue, he curses the wasted resource.
Asher runs up to the tunnel, watching the retreating figures moving away and incredible speeds. "Yeah... Minor victory" he says bitterly. "Tell me, where does this tunnel lead?" he says, turning to Cretien.
He gives Falko a glance as he's being tended to while awaiting a response.
Bluff: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
...
Asher is clearly trying to hide a look of concern about the other constable, and also one of frustrated guilt.
Falko Escheus |
Cretien's CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9
Falko bolts out of unconsciousness: "What! Wait!" then gets his bearings and relaxes somewhat: "Mh!? They've escaped I see... Powerful and ready they were. No amateur dealers... I wonder where they're from? We should check those items to see if they're somewhat... Tainted? Cretien, think you can do the analysis?" he says, slowly and painfully getting to his feet.
He looks around: "That bridge just disappeared... How did she do that?" and he walks over to the edge of the bridge to take a look.
Cretien Dufrene |
Cretien takes a shot against the remaining construct, and if his turret has line of sight it will as well.
+1 thundershot: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24 vs touch AC
dmg: 1d10 + 1 + 2d8 ⇒ (1) + 1 + (3, 1) = 6
turret: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24 vs touch AC
dmg: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
"As for magical analysis, I deal mostly in the combination of magic and machine. Purely magical items are better analyzed by pure mages. I'm specialized more on the machine side of the house."
GM, did i catch in my earlier research where that tunnel led? if so, I divulge that to the party ASAP
Falko Escheus |
"If you say so. Now Angus is urging you to run after them. Lead the way then! I'm right behind you!" he shouts and runs after Angus.
I need to be more careful! I know Dad! I hear you fine: 'What's the point of learning defensive incantations if you don't use them in a fight?!' I know... he thinks to himself, and perhaps his deceased father.
Cretien Dufrene |
"I don't think we will catch them. We can see where the tunnel leads though. It wasn't mentioned when i checked out the records on this place. "
im sure her speed buff will last plenty long enough to escape/
GMEDWIN |
You go through the tunnel and it ends in a sewer nearby where you could go either left or right so you aren't sure which way she could have gone.

LeMond Asher |
"You boys check out the tunnel, I'll alert the cavalry. Don't go too far now, she's long gone and had enough time to set magical traps in her wake."
Asher grumbles to himself as he takes the quickest way back out into the rain. He loads another flare cartridge into his musket and fires it into the sky as a signal to alert nearby lawmen of their need.
Angus McCormick |
She does indeed go twice faster than i but still we might more from this exploration he says pointing at his heavy armor
DM: Angus will have secured the chest and will carry it with him
So left or right he says casting a light spell
Cretien Dufrene |
Cretien picks up his slightly damaged yet fully functional turret, folding it down into its portable form quickly and meeting the others at the junction.
Cretien auto-succeeds at DC 15 engineering
Having no opinion on right or left, Cretien makes a verbal note, "This tunnel is about a month old. They started construction six months ago, so it was likely magically concealed."
Cretien Dufrene |
i was just following the group, i'll fix my turret before bed.
LeMond Asher |
Crap, my post got eaten.
Asher, who had been loading the broken turrets into the carriage as evidence while waiting for his allies, shows the patrolman his papers/badge before giving him some somewhat intensely delivered orders.
"RHC. We had a sting here minutes ago, and the suspect got away. Spread the word around as quick as you can, and report to the RHC any findings."
He describes her, as well as mentioning that she might be accompanied by a seemingly 'metal man'. "She is skilled with magic, and dangerous. Do not confront her, simply follow her and report to the RHC."
Cretien Dufrene |
when there is some downtime and the investigation on the turret evidence is done, Cretien will try to repurpose them into RHC spiderturrets
Angus McCormick |
Check left tunnel and exit for clues / then check out right tunnel and exit for clues. Then exit Report to RHC with chest and confiscated magical items. Report to boss. Putting out an APB on the woman then off to bed
GMEDWIN |
You search the tunnel but the water is waste deep and it is very slow going. You are unsure which way they left or if they are still in the sewer.
The policeman is happy to oblige Lemond's request. The reemerges from the station where the battle had taken place, smelling of fecal matter, rain mixed with sea water and chemicals.
You return to HQ,

Know History: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9
Ahah! Both of us, Angus!
Falko is drained by the near-death followed by near-drowned-in-feces experiences. He throws away his clothes once home and takes two baths before crashing into bed.
The next morning, he takes a look at the items, his mind absent.
"Should we try them? That might prove dangerous..."
Lady Inspectress Saxby |
Before you get a chance to investigate further, you are summoned to Saxby's office. On the way you pass a lot of worried colleagues rushing about in a very busy manner, and a lot of RHC staff from the Slate office, all suspiciously prim.
Lady Saxby is frowning, standing up beside her chair, and on the other side of the desk Delft is standing, chewing blindly, smiling, looking a bit daft. To the side is a tall man, shiny military uniform (Lemond recognizes a medal for valor in the Third Yerasol War), fantastic mustache, monocle. From the tense atmosphere in the room you all immediately realize who this must be. No one is sitting down and there aren't enough chairs: a ploy by Saxby to keep things brief.
'Viscount Inspector Nigel Price-Hill' Saxby introduces you. 'Viscount, this is Professor Dufresne and his team, our best RHC Squad. You'll need to interview them for the audit on Delft, obviously.' She doesn't look enthusiastic, gives you warning looks to keep quiet.
'Congratulations on bringing down Macbannin, and saving the king', the Viscount shakes each of your hands. He then looks at Lemond, "I have heard you have done some excellent work for us in Drakr." He pauses coughs and then continues: "Of course, but after finding one incident of such egregious corruption, it is doubly critical to be on watch for more.' It sounds like a threat.
'Yes, Excellent' Saxby interrupts. 'That's all. Stay on your current case and cooperate with any requests from the Viscount’s staff as they review Delft's actions. As we all know there have been no other complaints of any sort', she glares at Johnathan knowingly - he looks back confused.
He continues with Lemond, 'I read you are a veteran of Yerasol, like myself', the Viscount ignores Saxby and speaks with Lemond as Saxby scowls. 'It gives a good name to the RHC don't you think Margaret'. Saxby smiles widely back, toothy and joyless. You try not to chuckle, you have never heard her common name spoken in the office before and to her face no less.
'Why, yes Viscount, what a good point.' Her eyes move over to Angus and scream 'get out and get back to work you dogs' but her smile never flickers. Delft laughs to himself.
Cretien Dufrene |
"A pleasure to meet such esteemed personages. I take it the interviews are not immediate, but scheduled? If so, when is mine scheduled? I have a lot of repairs to make, in addition to our case load." As he speaks, he rotates his body about fifteen degrees towards the door, and shifts his left foot towards it, but stands awaiting a response.
Cretien Dufrene |
"I shall check first thing in the morning, Lord Viscount." or whatever the appropriate verbal title is
Cretien suggests to his team, "Well, how about we meet for coffee, discuss our next course of action?" He steps out of the office, giving whatever salute is appropriate, if any, and waits outside for the team.
Falko Escheus |
Falko had remained in stunned silence the whole duration.
What do they want with Delft? He mentioned he might get in the crosshair. This can't be good... he thinks as the purpose of the summon becomes clear.
He bows deeply to the Lord Viscount before departing.
To Cretien, he replies: "I need coffee, and Delft needs our help..."
LeMond Asher |
During the meeting with the viscount and Saxby, Asher starts mildly annoyed at an unnecessary meeting, but noticing the lack of chairs is mildly amused and pleased that this looks to be a short one. His attention is taken by the viscount's presence for a moment until he starts to recognize the talk...
Audit on Delft? Corruption? Just what is going on... I remember hearing of the mayor, is Delft implicated?
His eyebrows raise in a confused concern and the meeting continues. When addressed, he begins to answer. "Yes, Viscount... I-" but stops when the viscount speaks to Saxby.
There are politics at play here... I was hoping to be finally assigned to a team that gets action, not one just used as a piece on a game board for the elite to manipulate... Despite his rising distaste, he doesn't show it knowingly, and instead puts on his face of cold interest, the look of a man who watches the sky in an attempt to predict a storm.
Leaving the meeting, he joins the others outside of the office with Cretien. "Yes..." he says, coldly, the look of distaste showing openly on his face now. "Let us rinse our mouths. Our priority should be our duty to catch the woman, and we need a plan. However, it is clear that our immediate superior is in a bind. I would like to know why." he says as they get out of ear shot of the RHC headquarters. "Our ACI seemed an honest sort. Have I misread him?"
Cretien Dufrene |
"He seemed alright. Never really questioned things here, it isn't my function. As i recall, everything we did, it all appeared in the end that we had stopped people who were criminals."
