Ulrich steps up to defend Chavana's lieing unconcious on the floor. He swings at the caster but just getting over his fatigue still isn't able to connect. Gelgish maneuvers around to get in a better position on the front line goblin, catching a glimpse of the chief near the rope bridge as he does.

Once in position he smacks the goblin over the head with his weapon, bringing dropping it to the floor. Darpan fires two shots, one flies true, hitting one of the other archer goblins who drops as well.

The goblin chief seeing the dwarf shouts something to the goblins you are fighting and waits for them to act before he spurs his mount towards Gelgish, dropping the horsechopper and drawing his shortsword on the way. The other goblins turn toward the dwarf to attack, both dropping their bows.

Neither of the goblins hit but the mounted goblin rushes him as well.

Thinking the goblins were retreating, Gelgish realized his overreach too late as the mounted goblin slashed deeply into him. His vision blurred as blood poured forth and the dwarf visibly staggered.

Ouch...just when I thought we were out of the woods...Will wait to take Gelgish's action until Darpan and Ulrich go

@GM: You mentioned that the chief dropped his horsechopper and drew his shortsword, but the damage rolled was 2d4+10. Would a goblin with a short sword really do that much damage?

Gelgish attempts to shake off the effects of the slain chief's blow and get to safety, ducking and dodging as needed to evade attacks.

Withdraw action, using Acrobatics to avoid AoO's. Not sure if the rider-less lizard has any interest in attacking, but it and the singer would get attacks if I can't beat their CMD. Because Gelgish is withdrawing, Goblin 2 shouldn't unless I'm missing something.

Gelgish blankly watched the remaining goblin flee, needing no extra encouragement from The Bear not to pursue. Pressing one hand against his wound to stop the bleeding, he absent-mindedly took the potion from Darpan while sitting down on a log. He did not drink the potion yet though, instead he watched the archer pour the other elixir down Chavana's throat in hopes she would be revived.

Holding off drinking the potion until Chavana's up and we see what healing she can provide. I definitely think our adventuring day is over, so if we can get ourselves patched up enough without the potion we can head back, rest up, and save the other potion.

Chavana wakes up with a start as the potion does its magic.

"Hope be praised! It's you!"

She reaches up and hugs Darpan. Seeing the others wounded she straightens herself up, and awkwardly crawls to her feet, noting the red stains from her own wounds on Darpan's uniform. She pulls out her wand of Cure light wounds, and begins using it on everyone injured.

GM, I am unsure of how you want to handle this, but she'll take care of the others before she takes care of herself. She'll start with Gelgish, then move to Ulrich, then Darpan, then herself. She will use as many charges as needed to get everyone to max HP. I'll start out with the rolls below. If more are needed to get everyone to max, please add to the next GM post.

@Chavana: Gelgish would be back to full after the first 4 wand hits. Also, could consider that the first two wand hits plus the channel would do the trick. Might be the better way to go if others could use the channel.

Gelgish visibly brightens and gains his focus as the healing surged into him. He gives Chavana a tip of his broad hat and a grunt of thanks before scanning the path back up to the goblin's lair.

He'll stay in cover but wants to ensure nobody else arrives to fight the party unannounced

The healing brings a smile to Darpan's lips as he stays close to Chavana while she heals the others.

I'll write it off as Chavana was frightened at her friends and was down, so she was being extra cautious... unless the GM wants to pursue otherwise, I'll leave it as is.

"Agreed, Darpan. Something that can bring the numbers into more manageable counts. I have heard of spells that include an area, sadly, I am unable to cast such things myself. That was an awful situation to be in. They will be expecting us next time, so we should be prepared for worse than we received this day."

She seems happier as Darpan 'plays shadow' while she heals Ulrich and Gelgish.

When I GM, my rule is that once someone is healed to full you save the remaining charges. No reason to penalize people for trying to be economical with posting at time.

"Back to town?" The Bear shakes his grizzeled head. "We should find a likely camp site nearby and hit them again in the morning. Unless I miss my guess, their leader and shaman are dead. While we are in no shape to confront them now, in the morning we should be able to finish the job without as much trouble."

Gelgish glanced back and nodded in response to The Bear. They hurt us but we hurt them, maybe worse. Shaman's dead, this blight-cursed singer's dead, and the leader's dead. We should hit 'em again tomorrow, after a good night's rest. Camping nearby is the right idea. Before that though, let's see what's on these bodies. Chavana, if you can figure out what's magic or not, that'd help. The dwarf then proceeds to strip valuables off the varies bodies the party had left to lie in the dirt since arriving at Thistletop, while keeping a wary eye towards the path leading up to the fort.

Mass body looting, hopefully with Chavana using detect magic. Recommend we head half a mile away from here and camp, then head back in the morning.

Yeah only use charges for what is needed to actually do healing. IC if someone appeared to no longer be injured it wouldn't make sense for you to just keep hitting them with the wand :)

Checking the bodies you find little else than the small sized armor and weapons the goblins were carrying. However, on the leader and the singer you do find some items that may be of greater value including three flasks of liquid which Chavana easily detects as magic, a high quality small breastplate, a magically enhanced small short sword, a small dented crown, a key ring with a number of keys and a pouch with 20 gold inside.

Chavana will identify the potions, and recommend that Darpan hold the Cure Moderate wounds for anyone who may... fall unpleasantly during our next excursion. Cure light could go to Gelgish, and Barkskin to Ulrich. Does this sound good to everyone else?

Chavana cannot guess as to the sword, so holds it for future 'loot.'

After getting the camp setup you all settle in for the night. With the way things went everyone mostly keeps to themselves for the night. Falling asleep you all rest through the night with no incident, waking to the morning light your muscles still sore and stiff from the heated battle the day before. It is a new day though, and the fresh coastal breeze and sound of gulls in the distance are at least somewhat refreshing.

With natural healing everyone will be at full health.

Darpan wakes early and starts to stretch out his muscles. As he warms up, the knots in his body begin to slowly dissolve and his movements become quicker and more fluid. After about 20 minutes, he starts to put together breakfast for the others. As they awake, stiff and sore, he helps them stretch and work the kinks out of their limbs.

After packing up your camp Ulrich takes his time finding the trail back to the fort. Leading you back to the entrance of the thistle tunnels once again.

Gelgish approached the entrance to the tunnels warily, eyes sharp for signs of recent goblin activity. His dorn durger in hand(s), he made his way towards the rope bridge with the others.

@GM: not sure where you want us to pick up. Pretty sure we'll simply try to get back to the bridge.

Ulrich will lead the group to explore from the southwest, north west, central south, southeast, central north, then finally the bridge area.

Trekking through the cramped spaces you find it much as you had left it before, though the stink of death has set in as the goblin corpses have been left out to rot overnight.

Ulrich leads the group to the area where they made their stand, to the south of the bridge and says, "Gelgish... think you can scout ahead to the bridge and see what you there is to observe?

Gelgish nods at Ulrich, then says nothing as he heads up to the bridge. He keeps an eye out for traps, concerned that the goblins may have prepared for their return.

He'll particularly look at chokepoints and the bridge itself

You take your time walking up to the bridge scounting it out. Examining the bridge, you find that the at first glance it seems very secure but something seems off. Taking a moment to examine it further you see that the bridge appears rigged to unconnect from one side if too much weight is put on it.

GM:
Does it disconnect from our side or the far side if two much weight is on it? Could Gelgish disable the "trap" so that the bridge would hold the weight?
