Sun Desin |
Sorry for me as well, had a trip downstate for business and wasn't able to post like I wanted to last yesterday. Sun has another roll he could do, but he does not really have any viable skills. Unless I can substitute profession herbalism into the Pellius, I'll just aid someone. Suggestions?
Z'hor'll B'bblebr'x |
I created my rolls, based on what I thought the decision was.
FYI - over the next week or two, I might be slightly limited on volume of posting due to the major upgrade going in here. Hopefully it won't be a big deal.
GM_TheBobJones |
Yeah spreadsheets! Once Sun posts we can move on. Might I recommend Doritannia Raffaela?
Z'hor'll B'bblebr'x |
Drawing is a free action during a move.
3 If you have a base attack bonus of +1 or higher, you can combine one of these actions with a regular move. If you have the Two-Weapon Fighting feat, you can draw two light or one-handed weapons in the time it would normally take you to draw one.
bolding mine.
Sorry, Methodios.
GM_TheBobJones |
FYI - every round you ar3e in the 'heat wave' you have to make a fort saving throw with a progressively higher DC, once you make a fort save you so not take anymore NL damage, but you are still fatigued as per the rules.
So Methodios, Tiberius, and Z'hor'll will still be fatigued.
Z'hor'll B'bblebr'x |
Yeah, sorry about moving. That's fine.
Z'hor'll B'bblebr'x |
Hate to do this again to you, Methodios, but...
Ammunition: Projectile weapons use ammunition: arrows (for bows), bolts (for crossbows), darts (for blowguns), or sling bullets (for slings and halfling sling staves). When using a bow, a character can draw ammunition as a free action; crossbows and slings require an action for reloading (as noted in their descriptions). Generally speaking, ammunition that hits its target is destroyed or rendered useless, while ammunition that misses has a 50% chance of being destroyed or lost.
Bolding mine
Z'hor'll B'bblebr'x |
Oh, that has to have earned me another level in Rules Lawyer... it just has to.

Sun This is totally a new system that I have devised that is super awesome.
Everyone else This is exactly like the T-rex scene. I even copied and pasted Damien's temple.
Everything you are about to read is copyright Damien, 1427 Crocodile Dundee Lane, Olivia Newton-John, Australia. Used (hopefully) with Permission.
This is a modified chase scene. You can check out the super cool graphic that I made. ::pats self on back::
There are four major obstacles that the PCs must overcome to reach the apartments of one of the merchants. First, the PCs must fight their way down the stairs to the ground floor. Then they must push through the zombies on the ground floor to reach the hallway to the apartments. Near the merchant’s room, someone set up a rudimentary tanglefoot bag trap to ensnare a target should the merchant try to flee. Finally, the PCs must get through the door, which the merchant barricaded earlier in the evening.
In the single most head-scratchy moment in Pathfinder, yes that is in fact a swim check to get in the door. Don't ask. Just roll with it.
Again, I will take the highest score and whomever else rolled in that category, I will count that as an aid another. Again, no peeking until after you post, and no discussing tactics.
Lastly, you are meant to save either Metella or Passad. You can decide to split up and try to save both, but, and I cannot stress this enough, that would be a really bad choice.
Questions?
Methodios |
Yay! Chase scene. Love the graphic.

Oh dear. Permission granted. Love that you appreciate my way of doing chases in PbP. Learned it the hard way when I tried a turkey chase!
GM Damo |
FYI, GM, re: the swim check. For things like this where there's clearly a typo (ie. it should be a STR check) you should feel absolutely free to change it from what is written. You are still the GM. ;-)

I am giving Sun until 10 AM CST to post, then I am going to bot him and move this along. Lots o' fun to come!
GM_TheBobJones |
I am sorry, but I believe the MAP is a bit wacky. I cannot fix it until lunch and I jump on some nonfiltered wifi. Let me know if there are any other problems.
Also, I did not adjust the INT rolls for Fatigue, but I don't think it would effect anything since you all beat the bad guys.
Z'hor'll B'bblebr'x |
@Tiberius, how are you getting 2 magic missiles at 1st level? Mostly just wondering...
GM_TheBobJones |
Spell Specialization
thenSelect one spell. You cast that spell with greater than normal power.
Prerequisites: Int 13, Spell Focus.
Benefit: Select one spell of a school for which you have taken the Spell Focus feat. Treat your caster level as being two higher for all level-variable effects of the spell.
Every time you gain an even level in the spellcasting class you chose your spell from, you can choose a new spell to replace the spell selected with this feat, and that spell becomes your specialized spell.
Special: You can gain this feat multiple times. Its effects do not stack. Each time you take the feat, it applies to a different spell.
For every two caster levels beyond 1st, you gain an additional missile—two at 3rd level, three at 5th, four at 7th, and the maximum of five missiles at 9th level or higher. If you shoot multiple missiles, you can have them strike a single creature or several creatures. A single missile can strike only one creature. You must designate targets before you check for spell resistance or roll damage.
Z'hor'll B'bblebr'x |
Cool.

ok... my damned sheet is somewhat messed up online... forgot I had a MW scorpion whip, not that it would have mattered. Will update soon/

Behind the curtain:
Sorry again for yesterday evening everyone. I have been limited in RL in posting at night, and I was trying to get everything wrapped up. I have no MAP editing access at work, I can only view on my phone. I had multiple maps ready to go, honestly I never thought that she would fool you. I know that you know she was the BBEG, but your PCs didn't. Your first perception check you missed by 1, you second was garbage, and her Bluff beat Z'hor'll's SM by 1 and Methodios' by 2 (even with the +1).
I never thought that we all go in the Crypt, and I posted an incomplete version of the map, raced home, posted a 'hold on' from the car and still had 3 posts of combat.
I forget how exciting combat is.
There were some flaws with this adventure, Doritannia and Pellius are tied to Passad and Metella so are worthless. Jakti was interesting and I wish I had given him more screen time.
Jack, I can total see how you do not know what happened after playing this, and I would be a bit more forgiving to your GM.
Both the Jakti, and Umut plot lines have tons of GM only stuff, and I tried my best to weave those in. Difficulties of PbP when you have days and days between clues.
All in all, I hope you enjoyed it. It was both fun and challenging to run.
As for the next step, I am not sure if I am going to run one more. April -Jone is my really, really busy time, and I have a work thing today that could see an enhanced work load from me. We'll see how it goes. If I do decide, I would like to keep in season 5, and you are all awesome players and are all invited. As always, I am a big boy and if you don't like my GMing style, or would rather focus on other games no worries. I will also notify the other Chris, and Steve if I do run, and post on the Zedroom. Jason, I will PM you to keep you in the loop. Also Jason let me know if there is a Season 5 you have played, there is a tracking sheet for the rest of us.
Godspeed everyone and thanks for letting me GM!
Arthrax Bellringer |
Character Name: Arthrax Bellringer
Your Name: Chris B
PFS #: 73432-1
Faction: Grand Lodge
Chronicle for this character: 5
Day Job roll: Profession Mercenary: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16
Thanks for running the game, John!
Z'hor'll B'bblebr'x |
Character Name: Z'hor'll B'bblebr'x
Your Name: Jack Brown
PFS #: 742940-8
Faction: Grand Lodge
Chronicle for this character: 5
Day Job roll: perform: oratory: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (9) + 9 = 18
Please note that I adventured outside of Absalom (name of city, please) -- for the first goal set for Grand Lodge.
It looks like that's the only goal I can fulfill this time.
Thanks for the game, John!
BTW - now that I've played it (twice) I am going to actually read the scenario. I am not giving the GM any breaks from my first run... too little prep, too many mistakes, etc. The RP section really turned into nothing but rolls, and we really didn't know who the merchants were (there was a lot missed, based on what you told us).
When I actually read through, I'll formulate a stronger opinion of the scenario!
Tiberius Scaevola |
Character Name: Tiberius Scaveola
Your Name: Jyri K.
PFS #: 96960-9
Faction: The Exchange
Chronicle for this character: 1
Day Job roll: Craft (tattoos) : 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (20) + 9 = 29
The adventure took place in Katheer, right? There was a Exchange goal visiting there, I think... (Don't have the faction journals available right now..)
And thanks for the game! It was a good one, even if Tiberius spent the final battle unconscious:)
If you're planning to run more games, I am sure interested. On the other hand, I've played quite a many from season 5. Count me in if it's a scenario I haven't played, but also feel free to play any you'd like. I have (more than) enough games to keep me busy..
Methodios |
Thanks for GMing - awesome job as always. Don't sweat the map. I know it's not easy for you working folks - and it doesn't help when we stay-at-homes meddle! ;-)
Character Name: Methodios
Your Name: Damien
PFS #: 135100-5
Faction: Dark Archive
Chronicle for this character: 2
Day Job roll: Profession (sailor): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22
Methodios sails everyone home to Absalom himself, and pockets the fee. :-)
I haven't had time to digest my faction reward card yet, but I'll be in touch.
Tiberius Scaevola |

Quoting the journal: Visit one of the following centers of trade during the course of an adventure: Goka, Katapesh, Katheer, or Kerse.
Can I check that box?

Yes!

Turns out, I'm not a very good Dark Archivist.
I hear that, Finarin is a terrible Sovereign Court member, crunch wise. Not sure how important there faction cards are going to be. 5 PP to 'convert' is a lot!
Z'hor'll B'bblebr'x |
I'll take charges as well. No big deal.
GM_TheBobJones |
Ok I have a chunk of time tonight and want to get the chronicles out asap. I have Sun's info and he will ding 3 so really excited to carry over to Wardstone Patrol.
Profession Herbalist: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9
Sorry Sun :(
GM_TheBobJones |
After a quick PM discussion with Jack; to recap the primary and secondary success conditions:
Primary is obviously defeat Umut - which you did.
Secondary is to influence 3/5 Merchants. To successfully influence them you needed 4 influence points or if you gain 6 influence points that counts as 2 merchants.
So after the opening cocktail party, you had Temel 0, Doritannia 2, Metella 4, Pellius 2, and Jakti 2 +1 = 3 for convincing the staff to open a window (and auto failing a check for the Zombie Chase scene because of that).
You gained a 4th Influence Point with Jakti during the Wake Speech.
You gained 2 for rescuing Metella.
So at this point you had Metella 6 and Jakti 4, secondary success met! You could have picked up another 2 for Doritannia with the letter Arthrax received, but I pushed the plot since you had already met it.
Z'hor'll B'bblebr'x |
Thanks!
Always good to know where we did right, and where we might have messed up!
