As Guntir peers into the room, tongue-tied, a pair of arrows fly towards him from the shadows around the corners!

Everyone:

My apologies guys. I got laid off on Friday, so I was a bit out of sorts. I'm back and ready to go. Playing some Pathfinder is the surest way to get back in the saddle.

The good friar rushes past the men (they're wielding bows so no AoO I assume, unless they've got Improved Unarmed Strike) and tries to grab the woman before she can finish her spell.

The Agent's jaw drops a little as he witnesses the little girl turn on them.

"Ah man, that's not cool little girl, not cool at all..."

Smoothing his robes, he reaches over to pat the friar on the back.

"Teach that schoolgirl a life lesson, man. Teach her good."

Apply bit of luck to Friar Huck, allowing him to roll twice (although I suspect he was already good with the above roll).

See!

Also, no offense, I'm an ex-Catholic. I was forced to be an altar boy for many years so I think that earns me the right to make those jokes.

"Hey! You tricked us!" Makindi is slow on the uptake, but notices the arrow in the dwarf's shoulder. He steps 5' forwards, in between the two thugs, and bellows, "I didn't wanna do this, you don't wanna see me angry!" as he lets his pent-up anger explode forth and swings at the southern thug.

Sorry about that, DM, it's happened to me before to. And you're right, Pathfinder is an incredible escape.

Meanwhile a magical boost from The Agent gives Friar Huck the best possible approach. The halfling immediately tangles up the woman, making any spell of hers a hell of a lot harder.

Will slides into the room, cutlass first. His cut lands before he even plants his feet. The edge of the blade winds a straight line through the thug's neck. His head topples as his body crumples.

The southern thug drops his bow and draws a longsword. He slides closer to the woman and tries to find an opening for a hit on the friar. ATK: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19. Not sure if that's a hit, you have both 17 and 21 for an AC. DMG if hit: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8.

The woman does her best to eek out a spell to knock the monk off of her. Concentration: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (2) + 9 = 11, but the spell fizzles.

It's probably best to take out the guards before the woman, if at all. Like you said, we need to ask someone questions, and she probably knows more. Perhaps the quick loss of her hired muscle can cow her into a surrender.

"My name is Katiya. Look there's a watch station around the corner. Just drop me off, it's better than dying, that's for certain..."

The Agent rubs his eyes and does a double take at the greasy rungs.

"Whoa, either that's intentional or someone's been eating too much fried food."

Smacking his lips, the long-haired Desnan looks around.

You enter into a gloomy, greenish twilight where scattered beams of light filter down between weathered dock planks, bouncing off seaweed covered stones that jut from the dark harbor waters. A forest of pylons suspends the docks above where the scurrying feet of merchants, sailors, and longshoremen hammer like a muffled thunderstorm. Between the pylons, you spot small stone bunkers, ruins of older siege forts now crumbling and weathered from centuries of angry waves. A narrow set of docks traverses the rocks, connecting various locations. Eventually, all lead out to the shallow bay at the mouth of the maze. Nearby, you notice a fresh trail of muck-limned, wet footprints.
