GM Demonmoose |
This large room is lit by tracks of glowing panels of light set in the ceiling, ten feet above. To the west, the room ends in a ragged wall of rubble, rock, and twisted metal, while to the East, a ten foot-diameter circular platform sits on the ground before a pair of large doors. Rectangular panels of glass adorn the large doors between crude paintings of a mechanical talon.
GM Demonmoose |
As you start to examine the room, the eastern doors burst open and several half orcs enter the room. Each wears a spiked gauntlet and chain shirts. They form a perimeter around you.
"Challengers against Hellion's might. What fools. What do you think you can accomplish against a God?" The male half orc says. He looks to be of a higher position than the others based on his clothing and stance.
Alexis Ravani |
Alexius starts singing inspiring the party, a song of false gods, and their inevitable fall.
(+2 to hit and damage)
GM Demonmoose |
Time depends on how long you waited outside. Probably 10 minutes before you entered as you watched people filter out and recovered from the arena fight.
Alexis's Initiative: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
Cemifobbar's Initiative: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16
Kharamell's Initiative: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21
Kraig's Initiative: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 17
Nyssa's Initiative: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 = 13
Tessara's Initiative: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8
Valt's Initiative: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (3) + 0 = 3
Enemy Initiative: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23
1. Enemies
2. Everyone
Enemies' turn was moving into the room. Everyone's turn.
Alexis Ravani |
Assuming alexius's singing started before combat. If that is not the case, then she has acted
She casts blistering invective
Alexis yells You pathetic cannibals are all doomed to the abyss, miserable pieces of S@$% you are! You waste of space morons are doomed to a painful death!
intimidate: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (2) + 11 = 13
damage: 1d10 ⇒ 5 to all intimidated enemies with 30 ft. That's all except the bottom right one.
Reflex DC 16 save to avoid catching on fire
Hmm, lost it on delivery she thinks to herself
GM Demonmoose |
Tess's first arrow stabs into the thigh of the nearby acoltye. The other arrow bounces off a coppery looking shield with a blood red metal claw painted on the front.
Almost worked, Alexis. Intimidate roll was just a little low.
The half orcs furrow their brows and stare in confusion at the bard. One of them mutters, "I don't understand. We're not Smilers..."
Red Acoltye (10). Valt, Iophiel, Cemifobbar, Kharamell, Nyssa and Kraig (GM)'s turn.
GM Demonmoose |
Reflex Save, DC 16: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (2) + 0 = 2
Reflex Save, DC 16: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (10) + 0 = 10
Reflex Save, DC 16: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (15) + 0 = 15
A deep pit manifests underneath two of the half orcs and the leader, formed from Kharamell's magic. They try to shift and move away, but are too slow to realize what is happening.
Falling damage: 2d6 ⇒ (1, 3) = 42d6 ⇒ (3, 1) = 42d6 ⇒ (5, 1) = 6
Blue (4), Purple (4), Nalakai (6) prone. Red (10).
Nyssa Veshane |
Nyssa sizes up her opponent, then steps forward, slashing at the nearest half-orc.
Longsword: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (16) + 12 = 28
1d8 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9
Move action(study target), 5' step, standard action(attack).

yeah, low rolls happen. Sigh
Valt Skyddade |
While Iophiel moves to take the nearest orc to the pit, Valt concentrates his mind to incapacitate the one fighting Nysssa.
Greatsword: 1d20 + 7 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 7 + 2 = 13
Damage: 2d6 + 13 + 2 ⇒ (4, 1) + 13 + 2 = 20
Čemifobbar |
Čemifobbar starts a bloodrage and and attacks the nearest acolyte (green) with his tried and true +1 falchion. He's also going to use power attack try and cleave into the adjacent half-orc acolyte (yellow) as well.
This is to use the Frightful Charger ability to Stagger the leader
+1 falchion (green): 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (11) + 14 = 252d4 + 22 ⇒ (3, 3) + 22 = 28
+1 falchion (yellow): 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (11) + 12 = 232d4 + 22 ⇒ (1, 3) + 22 = 26
Should have all the math right: bard song and Bull's Strength potion included. Not enough room to charge for Frightful charger, though.
GM Demonmoose |
Nyssa makes a deep slash into the half orc, slashing though her chain shirt. The acolyte grunts.
Will Save, DC 15: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
Iophiel's greatsword clanks against the half orc's metal shield.
Cemifobbar cleaves into two of the half orcs, killing them instantly with his magical falchion.
Blue (4), Purple (4), Nalakai (6) prone. Red (10).
Kharamell's turn.
GM Demonmoose |
Kharamell's bullet punctures through the stomach of the lone half orc.
Blue (4), Purple (4), Nalakai (6) prone. Red (10), Orange (7)
Enemy turn.
The three half orcs try to climb up the pit. They are unable to find purchase in the stone.
Climb: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
Climb: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
Climb: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 = 13
The other two orcs strike at Iophiel and Cemifobbar with their spiked gauntlets. Their blows are ineffective.
Spiked Gauntlet v Iophiel: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 151d4 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
Spiked Gauntlet v Cemifobbar: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 71d4 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
Everyone's turn.
Nyssa Veshane |
Nyssa moves to the side to gain a clear path to the half-orc that is giving Iophiel such trouble, then charges.
charging sword: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (18) + 13 = 31
damage: 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11
AC 17 next round (charging).
Kharamell |
Kharamell reloads and fires, taking care to keep from hitting Cemifobbar.
Arcane Gun (Pistol): rtouch, bardsong, fire into melee
To Hit: 1d20 + 5 + 2 - 4 ⇒ (19) + 5 + 2 - 4 = 22 To Hurt: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8
GM Demonmoose |
Cemifobbar slashes completely through the half orc with his falchion. Her mouth and eyes hang open as the body pieces fall to the ground.
Nyssa cuts into the half orc. The force of her charge slams her against the wall.
Blue (4), Purple (4), Nalakai (6) prone.
Kharamell and Tessara are refunded their turns. Only enemies that are left are in the pit.
Alexis Ravani |
Alexis moves up to beside Cem.
She casts daze on the nearest enemy target
Will save, DC14 or lose next round.
Valt Skyddade |
Valt waits for the archers to take care of the poor orcs in the hole, while asking Iophiel to be watchful in case one of them is able get off the pit.
Greatsword: 1d20 + 7 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 7 + 2 = 11
Damage: 2d6 + 13 + 2 ⇒ (6, 5) + 13 + 2 = 26
Čemifobbar |
Čemifobbar speaks to the priest in the hole: "You don't seem so mighty now, priest. You are a fallen priest. Literally! Four of your acolytes are dead. Three of them at my hand. Why not surrender?"
intimidate: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (12) + 8 = 20
Intimidate might not work against them. But it's worth a go.
GM Demonmoose |
The two acolytes try to climb the pit, while the leader, Nalakai, sends out a burst of negative energy.
Everyone can make a Will Save, DC 14, to halve the following damage. It is negative energy.
Negative Channel Energy damage: 2d6 ⇒ (1, 1) = 2
Take all of that damage.
Climb: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
Climb: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 = 13
The acolytes are unable to get footing and remain at the bottom of the pit.
Everyone's turn.
Tessara Yandalëra |
Tess raises her hand into the air and clenches it. "Vaess virednith!" Her arrow in the corpse erupts out in clones and attacks the others.
Attack: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (15) + 13 = 28
Damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
Edit: Is Nalakai in the pit? You need to have line of effect to have channeling effect you. Tess is standing over the pit so she's hit regardless, but it effects the others.
Will: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9
Nyssa Veshane |
Will save vs channel: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10
Nyssa moves to gain a better vantage point, circling around Kharamell's magic pit. She passes between Čemifobbar and Alexis on her way.
Double move.
Čemifobbar |
That negative energy channel shouldn't have an affect on Čemifobbar, should it? Because of Negative Energy affinity for Dhampirs? You think I'd get that right by now (bad week!). I don't think it should heal him (he's at full HP anyway.
WILL: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20 (Cloak of Resistance)
Čemifobbar will stand at the edge of the pit and lob a sling bullet at Nalakai.
sling: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (11) + 6 = 171d4 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9
fatigue round 2/4, and should still have Bull's Strength happening
Kharamell |
Will: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16
Kharamell moves up to the edge of the pit and fires at the evil cleric.
Arcane Gun (Pistol): Rtouch, bardsong,
To Hit: 1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 5 + 2 = 27 To Hurt: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
confirm crit (Pistol): Rtouch, bardsong,
To Hit: 1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 5 + 2 = 27 To Hurt: 3d8 + 6 ⇒ (5, 6, 5) + 6 = 22
Valt Skyddade |
Valt, Will save: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12
Iophiel, Will save: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19
Kharamell's extremely bright beam takes Valt by surprise, making him wonder if he used some magic to enhance it.
WOW!
Valt Skyddade |
It was just admiration for your double 20s :D
GM Demonmoose |
Nalakai is in the pit. If you are at the edge of the pit, you can take the 1 or 2 damage. I mean, do you want to waste a roll on this?
Kharamell, Tessara and Cemifobbar finish off the remaining half orcs. As Nalakai dies, he maintains a smug smile on his face. The pit raises up as the spell ends, revealing three prone believers of Hellion.
Battle is over.
Nyssa Veshane |
"Well, those minions weren't so tough." Nyssa sighs. "That demon, or whatever, we saw in the glass, though. That one will be trouble."
Nyssa slings her shield and scabbards her sword.
"Might as well see what they had."
Nyssa begins to search the bodies of the religious fanatics.
