Saps or other non-lethal weapons. Though taking a -4 with a normally lethal weapon is also an option. Justifying acceptable losses is also entirely reasonable, but I'm liking the idea of this group not being ok with murdering folks because of that.

You get a good night's sleep. The bunks are quite comfortable considering the low price, and none of the others who shared the room with you bothered you particularly during the night. One was snoring a bit, but not very loudly. Rhialla, your room was better than you had expected. Such a room would have easily cost four derims or more in a city.

The next day comes, and you all feel well-rested and refreshed. Jabela comes up and opens a window and says "Good morning everyone. There's pottage, milk and bread ready downstairs for one thalen. I can also prepare a bath for you for one thalen, if anyone feels so inclined."

The rain hasn't quite stopped but it is reduced to a slow drip-drop, instead of the heavy pour of yesterday.

The dwarf seems to almost instantly perk up on the rays hitting him and looks at his breakfast with eyes no longer drooping.
"Thank ya' Rhialla, was gonna barter some-a meh brew to her fer a good meal but with you buyin' tha meal I can save it. Well save some ah' it." The dwarf says glancing toward the several formerly empty skins of mead now filled with well something highly alcoholic.
"Good food though."

After passing a few miles of farmland the road east reaches Nelphent Forest. After having traveled for twenty minutes through the forest, an enormous wolf with a deep mottled gray coat and spikes protruding from its spine, appears from the woods, and takes position on the middle of the road in front of you. The horse-sized wolf is snarling and showing of its fangs which are as long as knives. It doesn't look like it'll let you pass.

Rhialla readies to throw her spear at the angry wolf (or any friends it might have) at the first violent act of aggression from it. If it is already upon her (in melee) before she can act, then she will use her spear to attack it in melee.

She also keeps an eye out for being flanked or set upon by other wolf type creatures, they rarely act alone.

The dwarf says as he moves a bit forward, to provide a target. bracing his longspear against the ground and taking a shot of dwarven ale. His body reacting to the drink in strange ways as his muscles bulge.
