Oh dear! A Plan! How exciting! But don't you want to role play your executions?

Since these are at-will spells, do you want me to actually make rolls until I get all possible results ranging 2-21, or would it suffice to assume that I take enough time to do that and You'd let me know which DC allows me to cast those cantrips?

I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds

Well roll one more time ...

Interesting question: how are the hand-manacles bolted to the wall? If such bolts were to be warmed, then chilled, back and forth a few dozen times via prestidigitation (making the metal expand and shrink in its socket), what will this do to the wall-socket?

Interesting. However, encased flesh will be scortched and frozen numb before there would even be a hint of damage to the metal. But still an interesting notion.

prestidigitation does not reach temperatures high enough to do damage. I did not mean there will be damage to the metal- I meant the metal will damage the wall surrounding it.
In ancient times, stone queries operated that way: they would carve grooves around a block, stuff the grooves with dry wood, then pour water on it. The osmotic pressure caused the wood to expand, and it was enough force to break off gigantic slabs of rock.
My idea was to use heat energy to cause the metal stud to slightly expand and shrink in the wall, eroding the wall around it, hoping that eventually the wall will not be tight around the stud, and the stud could be pulled out freely

I understand what you are trying to do, give the DM a little credit, just as I give you.

Khara

Spoiler:
Nat 20! Get a Notch. And you are +1 to all Concentration checks for 0 Level spells while you need to overcome THIS particular situation.

As you concentrate on even the most basic of spells, (which spell did you cast?) there is the faint hum in your mind again.

The faint background hum in your head now grows to a something like a sharp whine, almost a shriek.

You have a distinct sense of pushing against something massive. Whereas before sensation was unpleasant, now it has become painful.

You grit your teeth. You focus against it. Your will IS strong!

And this time, you will breaks through!

Yay! that roll referred to prestidigitation to keep myself clean. BTW if that was a concentration check, and not a caster level check, I have another +4..

Present Day

*Sir Cudjet is at -7 HP of his total.

*Enosh is 1 day away from being Fatigued.

*Each player is allowed another action before this scene takes place, your welcome to post those, otherwise we advance to ...

Some four hours after your meager morning rations are brought to your decidedly un merry band this occurs.

As you all continue to quietly plan some form of escape, your whispered conversations are interrupted by the sound of the iron reinforced prison door at the end of the hall creaking open on its rusty hinges.

You hear distant footsteps and the grind of metal on stone. They gradually draw nearer to your cell and then the gate is unlocked and swung wide.

As the light shines out of the room, the silhouettes of seven men can be made out against the light. Marching at the head of the group is Sergeant Tomas Blackerly, the Watch Sergeant for Branderscar Prison and the man who held the Brand that marked each of you.

This is the very man who laughed, spit and beat you into unconsciousness after he enjoyed burning you.

Six guards follow tightly behind him.

Female Changeling Rogue (Charlatan) 1 (HP 9/9; AC 12/11/11; CMD 12; Fort +0; Ref +3 Will +1; Init +1; Perception +5; Darkvision 60 ft)

"Oh look at what we have here, Blackerly has come a'courtin me again, I knew he couldn't be staying away from me charms!" I say with a laugh as soon as I notice is him with the guards.

I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds

Eying each of you in turn, his face is part scorn, part disdain, all hatred. He focuses on your newest addition.

Sergeant Tomas Blackerly barks out some orders.

"The big one at the back, there. That 'great knight'. Step careful, now, he's sure to be a troublemaker." Blackerly spits on the floor.

Anastasia flinches, she remembers how it smelled from the night before.

With three guards having their weapons drawn keeping a watchful eye on the prisoners, three more guards unlock Sir Cudjet and bring him to his feet.

They are being careful to stay well out of the reach of the other prisoners, the diseased looking Enosh and the albino fey looking Greyfield in particular.

"Well, Mi'lord of Murderer, it seems you have a visitor. How you ever warranted such a fine lady is beyond me. Seems she wants to say good-bye."

Sir Cudjet's wrists are bound with manacles then brought forward by the guards.

"Now step lively Sir Scum. We wouldn’t want to keep her waiting for the likes of you. Mind you, try anything, anything at all and she'll be saying good-bye to a broken jaw Knight."

"Are we clear Mi'lord?"

To the group

Please roll Sense Motive everyone

And anyone taking any actions at this time?

I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds

To Anastasia

'Quiet you trollop, unless you really want some of my attention.'

Anastasia, you see Blackerly's hand rests on his truncheon.

He has fast hands for a fat man, that Blackerly, you'll give him that.

You know he is really getting quite fond of you in his own way.

Female Changeling Rogue (Charlatan) 1 (HP 9/9; AC 12/11/11; CMD 12; Fort +0; Ref +3 Will +1; Init +1; Perception +5; Darkvision 60 ft)

I laugh and heap as much scorn as I can into saying, "I doubt a man in yer physical condition could give me any type of attention I would be enjoying. I may need to be borrowing that truncheon when yer finished"

Sense Motive: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16

As he leaves the cell with Cudjet I whisper loud enough for him to hear,"Don't be forgetting the promise I made to ye."

I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds

To Anastasia

"Soon enough child, soon enough."

Greyfield takes one small nibble from his ration, and upon hearing Ana's jape at the undisciplined and portly turnkey starts giggly in a small wave which builds to a great crescendo.

Possibly my favorite line so far, make the DM laugh, great. Make the DM laugh while in character, even better. Ok Notch for Greyfield.

Let's tackle this in order

Khara
Perception Nat 20 +4

Spoiler:
You notice several things.

Blackery first up, he is wearing Chainmail, armed with a longsword and heavy truncheon. He has a large keyring on his belt. Also his uniform is different from the common guard.

The guards, they wear Chain shirts, all have longswords, some carry truncheons as well, two have steel shields, two of them carry signal horns. One carries a set of keys but not as numerous as Blackerly.

Add a Notch for the Nat 20.

Initiative Khara please

Let's see if you get to finish your sentence.

How many guards next to you?

1d2 ⇒ 2 guards

I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds

Which guards are next to you?

1d6 ⇒ 1 1d6 ⇒ 2

That's Corporal Goth and guardsman Roge.

What's really interesting about Corporal Goth is he has three distinct characteristics.

1. He is rather superstitious, well almost all these guards are, but Goth, he takes the cake.

2. He is rather paranoid. Not his fault, in the five years he has served in Braderscar, there were several times prisoners have lunged at him.

3. He is rather jumpy. Like REALLY jumpy.

3.a. Technically he was also sort of a bully when he was much younger but that was years ago.

Hmm. Guardsman Roge. Well nothing major to report.

Except he tells a story to the other guards that when he was twelve he ate a snake on a dare. But that's a lie. It was a lizard. And not a big lizard at that. And it was no dare. He was just a little weird. You would pick up on that if you were around him for a little bit.

Where were we? Oh right ...

Initiative Corporal 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 1 = 18

Initiative guardsman 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

Anastasia thought bubble

Is that girl really speaking in Infernal right now? This is going to be Awesome!

I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds

Hopefully Khara rolls high so her spell goes off.

In the meantime

Corporal shouting

"Oi! Oi! Wathca doin! What IS THAT sound! Don't you be makin' THAT sound!"

Truncheons are whipped out.

"Don't you be summoning no 'vil cat spirits now! Oi! Will you look at this byttch! Shut your moouth!"

whack, whack

Corporal's truncheon 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3 damage

Guardsman's truncheon 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7 damage

Ouch! Thankfully 1/3 of that total is just subdual damage.

I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds

That would make Khara unconscious right? She could still have made her spell work if she rolls high enough Initiative.

Truncheon in hand, Blackerly waves it an inch from your eyes.

He could shatter your nose just about now. Roll a Sense Motive DC 5, and you know he wants to!

But he has 'pressing matters' that occupy his thoughts.

To Anastasia, Blakerly says, with truncheon's tip at your nose.

'Now child, don't you be following that bytche's example. We would not want Goth over here to get really wound up now would we?'

Blackerly is clearly smiling. Beaming even.

He approves of his men's handiwork. He has taught them well.

Female Changeling Rogue (Charlatan) 1 (HP 9/9; AC 12/11/11; CMD 12; Fort +0; Ref +3 Will +1; Init +1; Perception +5; Darkvision 60 ft)

I don't think so since it's only a total of three points of subdual damage and 7 points of lethal damage. She is definitely feeling the pain though. But don't take my word as law last time I used non-lethal damage was in 2nd edition.

Sense Motive: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20

"Oh I wouldn't want to be winding up Goth over there." I wiggle as seductively as my chains allow. "Only one I'm wantin all wound up and workin' me over is yerself. Maybe before I get shipped off to the salt mines you and me could grab a cell for a bit, though I'm sure you'd be only workin me over for a moment or two."

edit: feeww! Got to act! Not going to cast a spell. GM- my perception roll was not intended for weapons and such. Just small palmable objects. Brooches, pins, large buttons and so on. That could either be used to pick a lock (brooch/pin), or sharpened on a rough rock to create a rough lockpick tool (large button) or a pouch/purse that might contain such things. If my perception was high enough to see such a thing, I will try and pick those. If not, and one of the 2 guards next to me carries the second set of keys, I will go for those. Otherwise I will grope for whatever is in the corporal’s pockets.
As the guards approach Khara, she stops talking immediately. Whimpering, she flails her hands around, as if trying to protect heself from the onslaught or push at the adjacent guards. In fact she is using that motion to mask an attempt to steal and item and stuff it in her shirt, as discussed above
slight of hand: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (20) + 7 = 27
After flailing around, the second guard beat her down into a bloody, unconscious mass.
