Khara Thrust |
Oh and one more thing, this one aimed at the other rogue and the bard, how are you guys building your characters
I'm building Khara to be an evil mastermind- social skills, lots of knowledge, some magic, but mostly suited to manipulate other people to do the work.
I don't see how the fact that Khara will be strong on the social side make you choose to be less so. From what I see almost all of us have high charisma, fitting for future arch villains that still need to recruit their minion horde..She has disable device/also for magical traps. +8 UMD.
As for healing: I think the spells I got will be more useful than healing. But you're right, the oracle does get an extra healing/inflict spell. The problem with infernal healing is that it requires components (devil blood/unholy water). Would it make sense to take it?

Well two social skill set characters won't be a bad thing, especially if we can work past our differences, I'm sure if we work a room together they won't know what hit them. As for the magical traps, my archetype doesn't have trapfinding so that'll be a job I'll pass on to you.

Please finish up your PC character pages if you have not.
Please make sure to add some back story and be sure you list your Crime Traits.
Feel free to change your starting Languages if you can provide a reason why you speak that language.
DM has to sleep for at least two hours. Entertain yourselves.

I like casting actors for my NPCs, it helps with the image.
While there is an image of Watch Sergeant Tomas Blackerly
I picture him along the lines of putting the worse bits of Bob Hoskins (click) added to the worse parts of James Gandolfini (click) and then left alone with no one to love.

Thank you Snark, wow I actually had them right from memory but I was not sure.
In three days hence, when the Confessor of Mitra accompanies the King's Executioner, Justice will then be served
Anastasia - Transfer for a (brief) Life at hard Toil and Labor in the salt mines
Cudjet - Dueling to the Death, Punishment Death by Beheading
Enosh - Death by Slow (wet not dry wood) Burning
Greyfield - Death by Beheading
Khara - Death by Hanging
Smoak - Left to Hang on a noose but taken down before Death then Beheaded

I am liking the PCs. All of them have potential for fun.
In my minds eye for some reason I can already see Greyfield quite clearly.
What I like about him is not readily obvious, not even for me, then I realized that he has nicknamed most of you.
He is Categorizing you, but not Personalizing you. You are an Asset or liability.
Other PCs starting to form as well, nice.
Snark thanks for the help regarding healing. I always forget its a function of Level and not Constitution.
I need to wait for Rene for one scene.

As the attractive beastborn drones on, Greyfield's eyes wander back down to the floor, yet his ears perk excitedly when he hears "or else to kill every/guard soldier that might come after us"
No comment as DM, as a reader, I like Greyfield.
Anastasia Delphine |
Blackerly and Anastasia.
It's like Romeo and Juliet.
If Romeo and Juliet was written by a Nazi playwright.
"Me mum always said I'd be finding that special someone when I wasn't even lookin"

I can only imagine Brody's face when he reads the end of this thread so far.
As a reader, you guys may want to use the discussion thread a little bit as players would discuss at a gaming table.
If that goes anything like what happens when you and I are at the same table we discuss anything but the game.

2 people marked this as a favorite. |
This being my first PbP campaign, I'm still getting adjusted to the style. I like it greatly so far. Narrative is a good thing.
The whole playing evil aspect is quite interesting as well; we are all bold characters but in a pretty tight spot. Not gonna lie, I was sweating that stealth roll.
Also, everybody's characters are quite original, which is super dope. You know that episode of the Simpsons when the Asian mob has a huge fight in their front yard? And Marge drags Homer inside and he says "ahhhh, but that guy in the white suit was just standing there! He was about to do something really cool!"...that's EXACTLY how I see Rene's character, haha

Thanks!
I appreciate that. And we are all here to have some fun, so that above sentiment is a good thing.
As a DM I am trying to be impartial, as a reader i really wanted you to make your Stealth roll.
I love that scene from the Simpsons, and Rene is a good man, he is just busy.
I will let some of the other players catch up a little bit in gameplay.

Snark
I am a little worried to tell you the truth. We could get reamed. Our only saving grace is Ed is not a killer DM.
Snark Victory |
If I can get all of just my buffs up and running lets see how much damage I can do in one attack.
Grigori's damage on an attack: 2d6 + 41 + 4d6 ⇒ (3, 4) + 41 + (6, 6, 5, 3) = 68
and that's on a single attack and I'll have 4 attacks a round if I full attack and that damage isn't counting sneak attack if I flank
Snark Victory |
A bit more shadow boxing in preparation...
Edit: Wow those were low ass rolls
Damage Vital Strike and flanking: 4d6 + 42 + 4d6 + 3d6 ⇒ (6, 6, 6, 5) + 42 + (5, 6, 1, 2) + (3, 2, 3) = 87

This is the guy in question.
Khara Thrust |
Just a question aimed at Khara, are you making up the infernal or do you use some crazy website for it.
LOL It’s actually an awfully spelled Hebrew. Figured as a biblical language it should fit hell, and since I don’t speak Aramaic or something like that, it’d do... :-D I actually had an Israeli friend who came to visit last night as I was typing that post, she looked at the screen and told my husband “Gosh, how can you stand this geek? Is this Klingon or something?”. I told them to try and read it out, and after struggling with the (exaggeratedly awful phonetic) spelling, they were both rolling on the floor laughing… :-D
And Khara might not be very wise, she is intelligent. She intentionally used Infernal for 3 reasons:1. To get the guards used to hear her speak Infernal
2. To hopefully mask her spellcasting (this time and the next times, see 1)
3. Get the attention of some of them and eventually get them close enough to pick pocket.
So, intelligence-wise, she was quite spot-on on #3. She’d have preferred a few more rounds of perception rolls and detect magic Identification, but having two guys beat her down is about as good a distraction as a pickpocket can hope for… (aside from the falling unconscious an within an inch of her life bit)
Enosh |
Hey guys, I apologize for lagging behind with Enosh's posts. I'm but a mere week away from my diploma and the assignments are plenty.
I'll make up for it as soon as this IRL ordeal is behind me.

Hi guys, at work right now and hectic.
Then in an hour I leave to meet Snark for the end of a year long campaign, Ed is DMing, I think we are TPK dead.
I'll be back with my DM hat around 4 AM EST.
Fell free to keep posting I am a few posts behind in my reading.
