Dwalindor the Pahmet |
@rameth...I thought the dagger was just until we sold loot. That works for Dwalindor...unless nobody else can use a falchion and wants to trade .
Dwalindor stops a bit to catch his breath.
"alright. Let's move . "
Rameth the Delver |
[oc] NOPE we didn't sell it lindy. When we Id the sword you can use that and we will put the dagger in the sell pot[/ooc]
Rameth the Delver |
What you got there Calin?
He checks for traps on the chest 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (13) + 14 = 27
He opens it 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (1) + 14 = 15 DD
that won't work 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (5) + 14 = 19 DD
Appraise for the priest stuff 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (9) + 11 = 20
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12 int if i can roll
DMummy |
As Rameth is busy calculating how much he can sell the items in the cedar chest for, Ptemnib - who has no intention of letting you out of his sight - sees the chest.
Ah, my possessions! I was worried they'd sold them already.
He frowns.
But where are my clothes and pendant?
You remember the vestments and holy symbol hanging in the storage area where the tekenu attacked.
Rameth gets frustrated as the chest remains securely locked.
Note - Calin's perception check, by his own admission, applied only to traps.
Calin Tinderfoot |
Looks like some religious items and another locked chest. Anyone able to work the lock? I know Dwalindor has his lockpick Lucy.... but I think the contents might be less damaged with something more subtle.
intellegence: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 1 = 10
Rameth the Delver |
[b] Rameth tries the key he took off the leader
Rameth the Delver |
Rameth gesture for him to take his robes then he searches the room
1d20 + 13 + 1d6 ⇒ (6) + 13 + (4) = 23
DMummy |
As Rameth ransacks the room, he finds a key hidden under the mattress.
When he puts the key in the lock of the chest it opens and he pulls out a backpack - wellmade, but ordinary, with two side pouches.
You begin to pull out a small horde of wealth - rings, necklaces, gemstones, statuettes. The bag contains a minor fortune, 4,706 gp worth of precious items.
As he's searching although he isn't quite sure what the statuette means, he shows that it has spaces for four feathers and holds only four.
Rameth the Delver |
I suspect this is the sky kibg or whatever.
Rameth pulls out the cat statue
Look at what a cute couple they are Lindy! Rameth makes them dance up to Dwalindor and kiss him, one on each cheek
DMummy |
Ptemnib gratefully accepts his clothes and medallion from Rameth, and in short order looks like a disheveled priest instead of a disheveled captive.
He examines the figurine you're waving in front of Dwalindor.
Interesting! A holder for feather tokens. It appears that whomever that was outside, he glances with annoyance at you, was communicating with someone, probably recently. Let us hope it does not bode ill.
The area to the north still needs to be explored, then you have to determine if you're going to leave someone to guard your loot and if so who. Also you need to heal up! -Hint, hint Audia-
Rameth the Delver |
dm I figure once we heal and get ready to explore north we send our priest friend with instructions to contact Ibrahim and have him send his men, by the time we are finishing up we should be good to go
Audia can we get a couple healing blasts? Then we can finish up with the heal sticks
Rameth the Delver |
oh fine :). Just means we will have to delay meeting Na and maru
"Angel Eyes" Albus |
Yep, lets just load the stuff ourselfs and bring it to the temple. They offered safekepping of our possessions, right? We can scort to priest there at the same time. AND we avoid dealing with that weasel, I mean the good old Ibrain... We will check on Naru afterwards.
Albus starts to load his backpack with the loot.
Albus do not trust Ibrain and would prefer avoid dealing with the man if he can.
Rameth the Delver |
we need him I think you had gone but Rameth has a good SM and he is trustworthy for now. Besides we need him for the waterclock
"Angel Eyes" Albus |
Albus suspicion would rather leave the big stuff behind than call the old man. His reasoning being that right now noone knows we are the ones who hit the silver chain. After we call Ibrain he will. But that is just his street-thug paranoia, he is also a greedy bastard and would let it go on the promisse of gold from the big itens. Lol
Dwalindor the Pahmet |
Dwalindor scowls at Rameth and the cat dolls.
"Alright very funny. Ok lets keep moving."
Rameth the Delver |
Waiting for a channel from Audia
Then we search the rest of the place take what's his face back to the temple, leaving Albus here to guard while we get Ibrahim to send his men to gather it all, then we go to see he Maru twins
DMummy |
Botting it is.
Channel: 2d6 ⇒ (3, 1) = 4
Channel: 2d6 ⇒ (6, 3) = 9
I believe that puts Audia at 2 channels left today.
The sun is beginning its descent as it's early afternoon as you arrive at the Temple. Ptemnib sweeps into the temple with you and is greeted enthusiastically by his many friends among the acolytes.
Ptemnib thanks you with a large smile for bringing him back to the temple and steps to ensuring the refugees are well cared for. Already you can see people responding to the popular cleric and his easy manner as he helps organize the chaos. Perhaps he'll be able to calm people and return them to their homes.
You don't see Ibrahim's trademark white and purple-striped tent, but you know he maintains a warehouse off of the Sunburst Market where you first met him.
As you approach you see that unlike the rest of the shops, closed with shutters and with the occasional panicked face peeking out of slits in upper story windows, Ibrahim's warehouse bustles with activity.
It is surrounded by large wooden barricades, with sharpened stakes pointing outwards like a wall of pikemen and several men patrolling with longbows and khopesh. Braziers blaze merrily and several arrows stand thrust into the ground next to them, no doubt ready to be set ablaze should any undead approach his business.
Ibrahim the Grey |
Ibrahim himself is sitting out front behind the barricades at a small table with an umbrella providing him shade and a pretty young woman cooling him with a palm frond while he sips from a porcelain cup.
He smiles when he sees you.
Ah, my good...friends the...Maze Minders. I was hoping that you'd survived...the attack at the Canny Jackal. What brings you to my...humble shop?
Rameth the Delver |
The continuation of our deal of course. We have some things to be moved, off loaded and i came to get you to send some chaps to transport it for us. Our arrangement was quite profitable for us both before and I see no reason not to continue. I even have a few new masks
I assume we didn't find anything else of interest in the building?
Rameth the Delver |
Waiting for a channel from Audia
Then we search the rest of the place take what's his face back to the temple, leaving Albus here to guard while we get Ibrahim to send his men to gather it all, then we go to see he Maru twins
Ibrahim the Grey |
Ah, that'sss most...kind of you to think of me in your moment of...triumph, however there have been...developmentsss ssshall we sssay?
He wave his hand at the barricades in front of his warehouse.
Tell me, how much do you have to...transssport? Asss there isss a large need for men just now and ssseveral of my...employeesss have been hired by the civil guard.
He flashes his too-white teeth at you.
Asss you might imagine, they are...mossst willing to part with a goodly portion of their...treasssury. You would have to be a fool not to...take advantage of their generosssity.
Rameth the Delver |
shall we play out Ibrahim first, then do the other and just say it happened in the other order?
Not many, A single heavy wagon should do the trick. One fellow to drive it, 2 or three to guard. If they come now we will help them load the heavy stuff. Send them now and you can have this mask. the brass mask
1d20 + 13 ⇒ (7) + 13 = 20 percep add 1 for traps
DMummy |
Rameth, you discovered a loose brick that had an amulet hidden behind it,
Ibrahim looks at the mask and his hand shoots out to grip your wrist. His grip is surprisingly - shockingly - strong.
Where...did you find...that masssk?
Rameth the Delver |
Our latest job, sent to rescue a fella, and we were attacked by looks wearing this.
1d20 + 11 ⇒ (20) + 11 = 31 SM
Dwalindor the Pahmet |
Dwalindor takes exception at the merchant reaching for Rameth but restrains himself from pulling Lucy.
"Easy there..."
Ibrahim the Grey |
Dwalindor takes exception at the merchant reaching for Rameth but restrains himself from pulling Lucy.
Probably a good idea.
Ibrahim is obviously perturbed by the mask that you've found - not necessarily devastated or scared, more alarmed.
My...apologiesss...I have...read about thessse kindsss of masssksss in ancient ssscrollsss bought from...explorersss in the wildernessss but had not...thought to see one here in...Wati.
He shakes his head.
Very...well. You may have the ussse of a...driver and wagon. I will sssend my...best men to help you.
He claps his hands sharply and three of the largest Garundi men you've ever seen exit the warehouse. Not one is less than 6' 6", and all are heavily muscled.
Ibrahim gestures at you and speaks rapidly in Polyglot to them.
The men bow and bring out a wagon to help.
May you have a sssafe...journey and return. Ssshall I be ssstoring your...itemsss when you come back?
Rameth the Delver |
I can identify it in the morning. Let's save our coppers
Dwalindor the Pahmet |
After leaving the armed warehouse emporium
"I do not know what it is with that Ibrahim guy. He just creeps...well, I ain't too fond of him lets say"
Dwalindor looks back and waves as the party departs.
Rameth the Delver |
Rameth prepares to fight, he puts a shield extract in hand
DMummy |
The Garundi look at Dwalindor with indignation that they would impugn their employer so. You do arrive back at the brickyard without incident to load up your wares, but the sun is beginning to set thanks to the time spent organizing and bringing the loot up the stairs - if you do decide to visit Namaru and Maru it will be after dark, and they may not welcome your entrance at that time.
"Angel Eyes" Albus |
Albus takes 20 for 26 searching that last room while he awaits for the others. With detect magic.
To past the time the magus does a double search in the dorm room. He also tries to remember if he knows a capable necromancer or willing cleric to work the thugs's boss body for some answers.
K. Local: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (7) + 10 = 17
Dwalindor the Pahmet |
Oh no...not miracle max? Lol
