Beromar spins and kicks and kicks and spins, connecting with the goblin near him once with a roundhouse kick. The hobnailed boot splits the goblin's skin, and it collapses in a heap of hemorrhaging flesh.

The goblin singer chants and divines and points her finger at Beromar, sending a spell flicking his way.

I 5' stepped Olwynn before making his attack. he wasn't adjacent to the caster when she cast, since her initiative count is before the shaggy dwarf's. But thanks for asking!


As Beromar shakes off any ill-effects from the goblin bard's spell, Bruin advances casting a luck spell of his own, hopefully guiding his next attack to smack a goblin.

The sounds and sights of chaos in the churchyard are beginning to subside. Most townsfolk have holed up someplace safe, or run home. Many goblins lie dead while other have sated themselves with food or flesh. Only a handful remain actively engaged like the group near the bonfire which burns in the city's center this night, instead of on the beach.

Falling back to support the bard, Blue Goblin slashes out at Olwynn. The blade glancing off the dwarf's leather jerkin safely.

Somewhat surprised with the ease with which he killed the goblins, Viro looks around wildly and ushers the children out of the way. Around the edge of the tent he spies the fight Bruin and Olwynn are engaged in and he makes a quick run around the northernmost goblin. Viro tries to do a neat shoulder roll, but just trips and desperately tries to avoid the inevitable counter-attack.

Viroleth rushes to the aid of his companions, and attempts to roll through to a flank. He cringes expecting the counterattack, but it never comes.

Purple Caster is holding a whip, which doesn't threaten for AoO purposes, so Viroleth is safe from AoO this time.

Purple Goblin watches the human rogue roll past, and fails to dodge the flying kick from Beromar, which catches her on the rather large head, spinning her around with a groan.

She responds by stepping backwards out of the mass of enemies, dropping her whip, and begins casting defensively, but the action and threat of the many foes causes her to disrupt her spell, losing it in the process.

Loges lobs more acid at Blue Goblin, hitting him with a sizzle of goblin flesh.

Olwynn strikes out at the same goblin with his quarterstaff, but the blow glances off the shield of the goblin warrior.

Despite the magical guidance, Bruin's hand slips when readying his mace attack on Blue Goblin, and instead of bashing the villan's head in, the mace falls harmlessly on his shoulder. Bruin regains his grasp, but not before the divine energy of his prior spell dissolves, leaving him to his own devices once again.

Bad luck! Even though the roll was high enough to hit, by rule, a natural 1 always misses in combat. Oh well, on to the next round.

Apparently my character's complete and utter incompetence was part of the grand plan all along, since it looks like Viro just opened up the Goblin like a tuna can. Truly Desna doth work in mysterious ways.

Deftly avoiding any attacks, Viroleth positions himself to flank the goblin songstress, then with his rapier, he skewers the noisome bard, putting her lights out permanently.

Smiling as the caster is finally silenced, Olwynn makes one more swing with his druid stick at Blue Goblin giving him a nice lump on the head.

The fickle luck of Desna turns suddenly, and where the heroes were struggling to hit the goblins, even with divine intervention, now they cannot seem to miss. Viroleth skewers the remaining goblin as an acid blob tossed by Loges and the mace wielded by Bruin all crash into the remaining enemy at once.

With a dazed expression, the final goblin looks about, then falls face forward, acid sizzling from his skin and eyes.

Another goblin threat averted at least for now. Killing the 3 warrior and the bard earned you each 151 xp. This takes you about 20% of theway to Level 3.

After watching the last goblin fall, Bruin looks at the blood on his mace and then puts it away on his belt. He sighs for a moment, and then remembers.

He makes a run for the tent on fire searching for any survivors.

"They ran out the back, I cut a hole!" calls Viroleth after Bruin. Nonetheless he runs after the halfling, cleaning the blood off of his blades. Viro quickly scans around for anyone in danger from the fire, or any nearby water to help douse the flames.


The children all seem to be safe, and the fires, while still burning, don't seem be threatening lives immediately. Father Zantus, the head priest at the Cathedral, arrives on the scene. He is soot-covered, blood-streaked, and wild-eyed.

"Thank the Goddess you were here to stop them. That fire would've burned the church again if you hadn't been here." He channels positive energy bringing all of you back to full hit points.

"There is a defense forming on the steps of the Cathedral. Follow me and join us!"

Your battle-weary group gathers their gear and begins to follow the priest. As you get closer you see the Sheriff leading a group of guardsmen chasing off a handful of goblins. Wounded and dying townsfolk lay on the church steps attended to by acolytes and minor priests.


"Hey you!" shouts the Sheriff. "Nice work with those goblins. I think we've got them..." he words are punctuated by a loud cry of help and fierce barking of dogs from near Northgate. Sheriff Hemlock points to you again. "Go see what that is all about, we have some mop up to do with these little buggers. I'll send a troop your way as soon as I can!" he points around the corner where the ruckus is coming from.

"I'll buy you one after this, all I have is a bow! You're welcome to it if you can use it."

With that Viro takes off in the direction the Sheriff pointed. His near-death experience aside, Viro is obviously enjoying the hell out of himself.

Loges sighs as he follows the two hyper-excited Halfling and Rogue!

Out of the frying pan...into the fire!


None of the guardsmen have a small sized crossbow. A few of the dead goblins have shortbows and arrows, but not sure Bruin is proficient.

The group hustles around the corner in the growing dark. Near the gate, they can see a guard hut that is now a smouldering ruin, with two dead guards out front. Near the gate, a group of goblin warriors is huddled watching in terror, as a mounted goblin readies to fight against a large hunting dog.

The dog's master, a well dressed nobleman, cowers in fear behind a woodpile. As you watch, horrified, the mounted goblin skewers the loyal hound with a long polearm and the remaining goblins dance around with glee, slowly beginning to circle the man. One licks dark blood of his blade as he approaches.

The goblin is mounted on a foul beast which has a mangy canine face with the same flat nose, beady eyes, and protruding teeth as a rat grown grotesquely large.

You recognize this as a goblin dog, a common companion and sometimes mount of goblins.

He then takes off. Briefly he wonders at what he was doing. But he had pledged to serve Desna and her followers, it just so happened that he would serve with a mace in his hand.

Bruin lays hands on Viroleth, passing on the luck of Desna once again to the rogue.

Double-moving into melee position, Beromar cries out his dwarven battle cry.

Growling fiercely, Red Goblin advances to attack the dwarven monk. Hitting him with his dogslicer for 3 hp dmg.

The mounted commando turns his mount towards the new trouble, steering it around the thrown acid glob from Loges. The goblin rider stows his horsechopper, and unslings his bow, firing into the crowd at Bruin, the arrows striking the priest for 2hp dmg.

Olwynn rushes up to take the position beside Beromar, his dwarven brother.

Red Goblin Slicer: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 18
Beromar Dmg: 1d4 ⇒ 3
Commando Ride Check: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (4) + 9 = 13

He then makes a wide turn around the melee, to flank the goblin facing Beromar.

He then move next to Beromar and offers his Lady's blessing once again.

Bit of Luck for the mad monk. 2/6 remaining for the day.

As Bruin passes Desna's luck to the dwarven monk, Beromar's flurry of blows land against the Blue Goblin beating him around, but not dropping him.

Loges tosses an orb of acid at the goblin dog, which would've hit the beast, but the rider reins in at the last moment, and the orb splashes short of the target.

Red Goblin slahes out at Olywnn with his dogslicer, missing as the goblin steps back from the fight.

The mounted goblin then spurs his mount forward while firing his shortbow at Loges, who catches an arrow for 2 hp.

Olywnn steps up swinging his staff at Green, but missing.
