Cela's wand is out of CLW charges and unusable.
You heal and move retracing your steps back the way you came.
You again take damage crossing the bridge and use 8 more charges to remove the non-lethal damage and fatigue.
You find the the key to Xin-Grafar allows you to cross the runes without activating the traps to summon.
GM Stuff: 1d100 ⇒ 51d100 ⇒ 23
As you are crossing one of the bridges however, a Large Fire Elemental climbs onto the bridge and attacks.

I am carrying the Jewel of Everlasting Gold. Happily. Prancing around a little bit even.
Appraise: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16
I would like to put my hat in the ring for the Mithril Shirt +2, as well. Just to discuss at least...
Since Anaba and Rolande can't use their CLW wands themselves and Cela's wand is discharged, would one of you guys please let Cela use yours? I can actually use mine, so want to keep it.
In case of any question, so it is stated: I will stash any unclaimed item in the Bag Of Holding for safekeeping. Considered party treasure. I make no claims! But since nobody's name is on the sheet, Stash it I will.
Anybody need any of these things?
We are at Keeneland today to watch horses swim around a muddy circle. AFK most of the day

You remove the gems sewn into the lining of Imine's cloak and examine them. You estimate the 30 gems are worth about 20,000gp
The +2 mithril shirt is human sized (medium), so not practical for a Halfling. Items do not shrink to fit.
When you pickup the Jewel of Everlasting Gold it imparts some knowledge to you about its abilities:
which the bearer knows how to use the moment she
touches the artifact.
• Clairaudience/Clairvoyance: At will, the bearer of the jewel of
everlasting gold can hear and see what transpires in any part of
Xin-Grafar simply by concentrating on the jewel. This power
functions similar to the clairaudience/clairvoyance spell but can
be used to spy on any location within the city’s confines.
• Continual Flame: At will, the bearer of the jewel of everlasting gold
can cause the artifact to burst into harmless flame, as per the
continual flame spell.
• Touch of Gold: Once per day, the bearer of the jewel of everlasting
gold can touch the artifact to a single inanimate object weighing
no more than 1,000 pounds and transmute that object into
pure gold. The object retains its basic shape and appearance,
but it is now composed of solid gold.
• Elemental Transformation: Once per week, the bearer of
the jewel of everlasting gold can transform himself into a
Huge fire elemental, as per the elemental body IV spell. The
transformation lasts as long as the bearer likes, but she cannot
leave the confines of Xin-Grafar while in elemental
form. This ability allows the jewel’s bearer to survive
the molten-gold floods.
• Summon Wealth: Once per month, the jewel of
everlasting gold can summon vast sums of wealth from
the Elemental Plane of Earth, in whatever form the bearer
wishes. This ability can only create mundane sources of
wealth, such as art objects, coins, gems, or even rivers
of molten gold—it cannot be used to create items with
magical properties.

You are 1/2 way to the exit when the Elemental attacks. Fernleaf is leading the way as a Huge Fire Elemental (since this can only be used in the city)

After bursting into a massive flaming scary monster, (I think I like this pretty much)I will assume an authoritative pose, making my flames extra spiky.
AWAY WITH YOU. BY THE POWER OF THE JEWEL OF EVERLASTING GOLD!!! AND THE MIGHTY KEY OF XIN-GAFAR!! I COMMAND YOU TO FLEE AND TROUBLE THESE FLESHIES NO MORE. GO! BEGONE OR I SHALL CONSUME YOU UNTIL YOU ARE WHITE ASHES BLOWING IN THE WIND!!!!
Intimidate: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9
I hope a few bonuses due to being an elemental, in possession of the Jewel etc.

In my fiery awesomeness, I will take a 5' step towards the smaller elemental and hit him!
Book shows 2 x attacks so I will roll twice. Ignore 2nd attack if not relevant
Fire Elemental Body IV Attack: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (9) + 15 = 242d6 + 4 ⇒ (5, 2) + 4 = 11
Fire Elemental Body IV Attack: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (12) + 15 = 272d6 + 4 ⇒ (1, 1) + 4 = 6

The smaller Elemental steps up and attacks
slam #1: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (11) + 12 = 231d8 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4 hits, but does not pass DR
slam #1: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (3) + 12 = 151d8 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6 miss
Rolande adds 9 points

Fernleaf hits the smaller elemental again and it decides it has had enough of the bigger elemental and moves over the edge and dives back into the molten gold.
With the huge elemental leading the way, you have no further encounters and reach the map room. The switchback stairs exit this room taking you to the surface and the door to Xin-Grafar. You are almost out!
Continue up the stairs to the exit or experiment with the Jewel of Everlasting Gold?
Fernleaf Ivy |
Yes, I will attempt to fully explore the Jewel of Everlasting Gold.
First I will use Clairvoyance/Clairaudience to look through all of Zin-Grafar. I want to see and hear everything of relevance to decide if we have any further business here.
I will, of course, make it use the Continual Flame ability, just because...
Can anyone conjure something up? What I want to do it create or find a 1000 pound balsa wood beam. 2 x 2 x as long as it takes to become 1000 lbs. Or Create Food - 1 loaf of bread basically corresponding to those measurements (Think sub sandwich for 1000 - Jesus would have liked this). Maybe a 1000 pound sheet of paper?
Then use Touch of Gold ability on the bread or balsa wood or paper.
I will then Summon Wealth. I want 50% high value gems, 25% Mithril bars and 25% very high end jewelry. And one golden statue of a naked elf girl. For my fabulous compound I am about to build. As big as possible and still fit the bag of holding.
GM Pablo |
You gather everything including the naked elf statue and all the items transformed to gold. it is a lot of work to break apart the solid gold cube, but you manage and haul your gains up the switch back stairs. You are at the exit and heavily encumbered.
Do you want to seal the door? You are tired, low on spells and could use a rest before heading out of the mountains. There are overhangs on the cliffs here which will protect you from the elements. Dusan recommends stopping here and starting at 1st light for the coast and your ship. He smiles widely as he says this..
Fernleaf Ivy |
I don't trust this gold for a second. I will make sure to sort through the Bag of Holding and see that at least 90% of its contents are not summoned gold, tainted gold, or gold that came from the canals.
Pablo we discussed the pile of treasure outside of where we killed old girl. Also, the various shops and so forth that had non-tainted treasures. I mentioned that I wanted to go through all of that and fill my Bag up completely with non-tainted stuff. Paizo was down and I was not able to mention that before everyone ran out.
I am NOT prepared to leave yet, but someone should take a handful of this stuff outside and see what happens. My beliefs and actions are to trust the non-tainted gold and pack our bags absolutely full to maximum maximum encumbrance while carrying (or ferrying) the tainted and summoned treasure with us as icing on the cake. I will leave mundane items like masks and robes. Not sure about the studded leather, shields and various non-magical weapons. Can the larger folk take the swords and stick them through your belts? put on bracers even if they don't work? Two suits of armor? Everybody who can, strap a +1 shield on your back. I will slide the elven curve blade +1 between my pack and back, assuming it is in a scabbard.
If an item fits in an unoccupied slot, I imagine we could put it there and still carry something else, up to the point where we just weight too much? Would let us carry more actual loot in our packs. Even if the item doesn't function (bracers for someone wearing armor, rings for people who can't use them. Weapons that are not class-correct, etc.)
GM Pablo |
You have all the treasures you found, including the dragon's horde. Your bags are bursting as well as, packs, pockets, socks and underwear. You have more than enough to buy a castle! To make room you leave the mundane items like leather armor and non-magical shields behind, but have all the masterwork or better weapons and armor. Taking a handfull of the summoned treasures upstairs you find as soon as it crosses the threshold to Xin-Grafar it disappears. You can find no way after trying for a few hours to remove a single coin or gem that was summoned with the The Jewel of Everlasting Gold. It appears to be bound here for eternity.
This lightens the load substantially, but you are somewhat encumbered. The bag of holding relieves a lot of that however. You still have some heavy cumbersome Bulette scales to carry - perhaps someone has a floating disk spell...
Duration 1hr per level
You create a slightly concave, circular plane of force that follows you about and carries loads for you. The disk is 3 feet in diameter and 1 inch deep at its center. It can hold 100 pounds of weight per caster level. If used to transport a liquid, its capacity is 2 gallons. The disk floats approximately 3 feet above the ground at all times and remains level. It floats along horizontally within spell range and will accompany you at a rate of no more than your normal speed each round. If not otherwise directed, it maintains a constant interval of 5 feet between itself and you. The disk winks out of existence when the spell duration expires. The disk also winks out if you move beyond its range or try to take the disk more than 3 feet away from the surface beneath it. When the disk winks out, whatever it was supporting falls to the surface beneath it.
Fernleaf Ivy |
I am not surprised by this. Let's artfully arrange the treasure in to a rude effigy to elf-girl centering, naturally, on the golden statue of the naked elf. This will be a nice welcome present to bring false hope to those who may come after us. Or for easy retrieval should we figure this puzzle out.
Leave all the tainted, take everything else.
Still, I kind of like it here. People respect me... I feel like I matter.
I make the Jewell flare up brightly and stare into the flames. The power to create as much treasure as I can imagine... Think of the power I can wield! Fernleaf Flamemaster... Bane to the powers of Fire! Ruler of all I see. Master of the elements...
I should build a church... yes. The church of the Flamemaster. I can be the head elemental. We can worship... me!!! No one could stand before my brilliance. All would bow to my heat and fire!!!
