Kitara tilts her head to the side as she listens. Strange, unnatural things. Voices like mirrors and speaking in riddles. Sissy never much did like riddles.

Her eyes close as she stares into the depths of the darkness that is her own mind. "Bindings, she asks. Bindings she did. Are we bound? Bound we are." So they have been bound here. Simple statement of fact. "But not what she expects, Not what she expects indeed..." Perhaps unusual terms of the binding, special conditions. Not a traditional binding it would seem. Perhaps they know more about it.

She swivels her head a little, still thinking. Almost a political word game. "We are bound, We are indeed. But we aren't, We are bound by nothing and everything..." Strange turn of phrase. Bound by nothing would suggest something without value, and yet by everything it is something of great importance. Kitara gives a small mental chuckle as she looks at the two creatures, her gaze falling onto the plates about their necks. I swear, Rose always got so... Kitara's eyes flash wide open as she looks at the creatures, puzzling at the strange iron plates that have writing.

Kitara suddenly bursts out into laughter as she looks at the creatures.

Kitara keeps laughing for a moment or two, then wipes at tears in her eyes, smiling.

"Magical, of course, Hound. See, Rosie was so proud of her precious Brimstone, that one day she had a special collar made for it, with a tag. Had it's name and everything on it."

She giggles as she moves up by the daemons, looking at them both then pointing. "Bound by nothing..., see the iron plates about their necks. Now I cannot read the language of Demons and Daemons, but I am guessing that is like a cat's or dog's collar. Probably has their name on it. Problem is, that if you just give everyone who can look on the creatures their names, then your binding has no real worth. Anyone could command them or take them away."

She giggles and prances over to coil herself up at Rose's side. "So, in that sense, they are bound by nothing. Bound by everything means that something of great importance is the key to their binding. Nothing and everything suggests that the two are linked. And see how the plates at their necks seem less than complete? Something missing?" She points to them as she talks. "Now I don't know much about these things, but Daddy did used to do this kind of stuff. I mean after all, didn't he do that with Momma? Which meant that he would have to have had her name. Her REAL name. My guess is that someplace in here is going to be the rest of those iron plates, with the rest of their names."

Nahia nods along with Kitara as she explains and then responds to Mysty. "Not just any iron plating, but very particular iron plating. Back in the room with the collars, the mural showed the complete plates, though the rest of the names were unreadable. Like she said, the other pieces might be around here somewhere."

Turning to the beasts, she adds "So... given our common goal, can we count on the two of you to leave us in piece while we finish searching this place for all that we need to complete our task?"

Solana looks at both of the creatures after they have finished talking and can't help herself. She starts cackling, laughter ripping through her body for several moments, forcing her to hang on her sister's arm just to keep herself from falling over.

She slowly wipes her eyes, pulling herself back up to standing straight. "It is a politician's first rule of debate and public perception. If you don't want to tell someone about something, give an answer to a completely different question. There is no lie in their words, they will let you pass, and there is something up there in the sanctum. But they are also hiding something of the truth from you, hoping that you might forget or just miss what they are saying."

Solana frowns a bit, looking at Rose storm off. Well, Rosie still hasn't changed. No patience, and always the harsh mistress. I suppose it is good that I found her. I just hope that she doesn't take what I am about to do as challenging her authority.

She slowly works her way up, laying a gentle hand on Hound's shoulder, whispering to him. "If this gets messy again, get Sissy out of here, alright?"

Solana takes a deep breath, drawing in all the feelings and nervousness for a moment, and composes herself. The mirth, the playfulness, the trite nature of her words and motions slowly melting over a few moments.

She then stands up straight, opening her red eyes and leveling them at the two Daemons in the room. She scans them both and slowly walks to them, the clicking of her heeled boots softly rapping off the stone floors.

"See now, you have gone and made the Lady Rose quite upset. I'm certain that quite soon, we are going to be able to find the plates that contain the magic of your binding, with your names. Your actual names. Are you certain that the both of you want an upset woman such as she to hold the power over your very existance?"

She starts to walk circles around them, trying to maintain the poise and the grace of the mistress in action. "It seems to me, kind sirs, that we are both allied in the same struggle, and against the same foes. Our tasks coincide. And being less than truthful with us would not be in your best interests, nor is it in ours. You need us to help complete the pact, so that you can complete and be released from your bonds, and we need your knowledge of this place so that we can best defend and use its full bounty, yes? It seems to me that we should not be bickering or hiding things from one another, but instead joining our forces, and our efforts. Would you both agree?"

He looks to them harshly a moment. "I know you are hiding something from us. You are trying to distract and deceive, and I have no patience for it, nor do I tolerate it. And I believe that I speak for the others when I say they do not either. If not for us, do the smart thing for yourselves. Help us, so that you can in the long run help improve your own standing in your Master's eyes, as the ones that helped guard and guide those that freed him."

Of course they aren't helpful. Why can't any of this ever be easy? I mean, I know, we're on a sacred mission, that is probably intended to test us. But can't ONE thing we meet like this be helpful? Gah, given our luck they're probably going to try and slit our throats in our sleep...

When Rose storms off and Kitara has given her speech, Nahia sidles up to the woman and whispers "Leave them. They've stopped for now and we have more important things to do... It was a nice try though."

At this point she takes up her normal position in the parties marching line, just behind the two big heavily armored warriors, while scanning all they come across for magic.

Climbing up the stairs you arrive at very top of the Horn of Abaddon. It is accessibly only two ways – you come up the 240’ long spiral stair case cut through the Horn’s heart or you fly in through the balcony.
This large domed chamber is baroquely decorated and everywhere adorned with jagged daemonic iconography and visions of spreading pestilence and mortal suffering. It is a grand chamber: eighty feet across at its widest, ninety feet long and rising at its apex to a dome fifty feet high. Low partition walls section off two ritual preparation chambers. And dominating the chamber is the statue of Vetra-Kali himself carved from hard green alabaster. He holds three knives and three bowls and leers eyeless over the altar before him. He presents a figure of brutal alien malice.

The green stone of the altar is stained black in many places, doubtless from the countless victims who met their end upon its block. There is a reservoir at the base of the statue.

Completely out of place is the heavy silver chains that bind the altar and connect to a heavy argent seal pressed with the holy sunburst of blessed Mitra -- the Silver Seal.

Circling the dome in perpetual motion is a huge creature of living energy.

As if being guided towards Hound’s breastplate, the mass of energy hits the big man, causing ripples of energy surge through his body, burning him from inside out. But that don’t prevent the barbarian from attacking, even if his aim as off, leading the blow astray.

Rose knowing that a fall from this right could prove fatal, steps out of the monster way while ordering the fallen celestial to attack.
She then turns her attention to the threat near her and commands it to flee!

Kitara moves and starts to cast a spell, but so used she was to dealing with wild animals, she forgot others could try disrupt her magic. Casting spell inside a Threatened area causes an AoO

She is about to finish her spell, when the elemental slam into her, with brute force and energy discharge. Concentration DC 30: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (7) + 10 = 17 but even with her superb mind and concentration, it isn’t enough to prevent the spell from being disrupted. Spell failed.

Kitara winces in pain, not realizing that the creature's reach and reflexes were such that it could strike so quickly and often. She curses at herself under her own breath, and slumps up against the stairs for a moment. Using them to support her weight, she glances out and thinks.

Seeing that the creature flees under her sister's power, Kitara takes a deep breath for a moment to decide exactly what to do. She then watches the creature speed out over the nothingness, and laughs. Damned thing. No idea what a creature of that attunement is doing here, but it has to be stopped. Not to mention, I need to have a talk with Sissy about just what they normally run across. I am going to have to change my attunements I think to be more effective for them.

She starts to draw on her power, a corona of flames coursing over her skin and armor. First the giggle, then then laugh, then a full bore cackle as her voice rings about the chamber. She stretches her arms back out, forcing back the pain as the flames caress her body, keeping her going. They slowly gather, compressing down, drawing themselves into the small sphere as she casts the sphere of flames at the creature.

Nahia rushes up to hound, wand in hand, saying "The creatures attacks are attracted to your metal armor. Be on your guard!"

The ruby tip of the wand in her hand leaves fine red lines in the air as she traces a pentagram before touching the glowing tip to Hound, causing a warmth to radiate throughout his body.

Even if the elemental was able to resist Nahia’s mind bending curses, it stands helpless against the fallen celestial aura of meneace.

Hound chops with his great sword and even if it was a poor attack, it hits the lightning mass, at the same time the electrical energy discharge into his sword. Lightning DMG: 1d8 ⇒ 3

Rose uses the same opportunity to attack hitting the elemental Lightning DMG: 1d8 ⇒ 4 and her celestial resistances protect the black knight from any harm.

Kitara cart a spell, targeting the fleeing monster. Reflex: 1d20 + 15 - 9 ⇒ (12) + 15 - 9 = 18 and it’s just enough, but the elemental manages to escape most of the damage.

Here is what’ll happen: The elemental will flee for two more rounds, then it will take three more rounds to return. Post up 5 rounds worth of action.

Mysty's wearing a chain shirt. That means the Elemental's CMB is about 10 higher than Mysty's CMD. An average roll for it would shove her 25 feet. It could also Drag or Reposition for the same effect. If it gets a hand on her, I don't think there's anything we'll be able to do to stop her from going off the edge. That's a big risk.
