Choot Othul |
Was thinking that too Thoku, I am sure a lot of Board Members went to that.
Hakak & Fleshripper |
I think this is trial-legal. If not, Hakak wouldn't do it.
Hahak brought Fleshripper near to the arena, just to before the beasts entered. He examined his spineback thoroughly, punching away its hungry jaws several times when it thought him unwary.
"You will have Mother's strength," Hakak told the dinosaur. "None will stand against you. You will feast on them." He ran his hands over the creature's snout as he spoke.
Magic Fang. Lasts for 10 rounds
Kraq Skysplitter |
Kraq moves to a place to watch the Trial of the Fang more closely. Looking over the other animals as they are attended by their masters and trainers.
"Fleshripper is a fine animal, he shall make you a mighty companion in the future, he should do well today Hakak. Perhaps my Swoop will be a tactical asset to us, but for now he is too diminutive to take part in the battle." As he mentions Swoops name a small winged dinosaur climbs up onto Kraq's shoulder with a chirp and a twitching head always looking for danger.

"Swoop must be ferocious to be so small and yet worthy. Does he bite at the tender parts when you sleep? Fleshripper often did," Hakak stroked his dinosaur fondly.
Kern Dead-eye |
Just got back from PaizoCon, getting caught up.
Kern is ready to take part in the contest.
Choot Othul |
How was the Con, good attendance? I have considered going in the past but never seem to be able based o scheduling.
Kern Dead-eye |
It was a really excellent time. The schedule was great, I met with tons of the Paizo developers and other employees, and I played in some excellent games. I think I'll need to go again for sure, though I don't think I can go every year since Seattle is pretty far. I loved the city as well.
Shakraal Kringsdaughter |
Been busy too with home stuff...
Will cast guidance on an AC just before it enters the Trial - even for Fleshripper, odd for Grell
Chances are....!!!: 1d100 ⇒ 83
Unless of course I have time to cast one on each...
Shakraal Kringsdaughter |
What are the current rules for Aid Another attempts from familiars and Animal Companions?
Thoku the Bloodied One |
Thoku gets the attention of Grell and Hakkak looking into each of their eyes he tell them"I have no magic to help you in this trial, but I know one of you will win. If your with me as we are going to make our own tribe we must be blessed by our gods in as many ways as they choose, prove your self so once we begin all will know only the best are in our tribe. Enter and show theses lesser orcs what it means to be a great beast master" and Thoku takes out one of the spines he cleaned last night braking off two of the vertebrae he grinds them into a powder with just his hands, the he cuts the palm of his hand mixing the blood with the bone powder making a red paste. Thoku then uses this paste to make two lighting marks on Grell and Hakkak and dose the same to their beast "use the power of the orcs we have bested together and win in glory to our gods"
I have no real way to help so I was hit with a bit of orc inspiration hope it was OK ^^

@Dragon - I'm referring to Aid Another by familiars/animal companions etc, not for them.
Case in point: Kraq's dinobird Aiding Grell/Fleshripper...Nothing like getting a face/snout full of buffeting wings to put you of your Trial...
Kern Dead-eye |
Kern casts bristle on Grell, giving her a +1 bonus to damage with all attacks for the sake of -1 AC.
Grell's current buffs: bristle (+1 damage, -1 AC), guidance
Grell is ready to enter combat.
Choot Othul |
Any way we can use that Fame bonus here or do we have to be participants to do that?
Thoku the Bloodied One |
no we should try to save our fame bonus for the tug of war^_^

Ahh! Yes, dinobird can aid another. It'd work just like the other aid another's. So face buffet would be a touch attack with no chance for AoO because the goal isn't to do damage, just distract. That would give a +2 to attack for Grell and Fleshripper. The axe beak could use a move action to get out of the way.
You can use game points here the same as always, just spend them on your pet and not yourself.

I was thinking that too but a clean sweep of these Trials would be amazing!

intim: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (15) + 8 = 23
Once they enter the ring thoku give a bloody roar striking fear into the animals "raaahh FEED WELL ON THE BLOOD OF THE PATHETIC BEAST BEFORE YOU" and then begins to pound a slow strong beat, by slamming his fist on his chest in a attempt to give the his companions some drive to victory

Pre-Rounds
Hakak's words inflame Fleshripper, and the spinosaur snaps on the earth-speaker's hand. Its fangs sink deep into Hakak's fist, and blood flows freely from the wounds. When the dinosaur pulls back, its fangs are far longer and sharper than they were before. They protrude from Fleshripper's maw and drip saliva in great rivers to the dust below.
Meanwhile, Kern scoops up a handful of dust and sprinkles it over Grell. As he does so, Grell's fur tightens and flows, forming into small spikes of matted fur. His fangs and claws lengthen and dig deep into the earth.
Thoku anoints the two beasts in blood and bone as Shakraal speaks words of strength and power. Selzarian's smoke rises from her mouth and fills the beasts' eyes. Their eyes glow with a red light and they roar with power and fury.
The axebeak squawks a challenge and flaps its wings as the two beasts leap into the arena! It weaves about in the dust and its head bobs threateningly. But, then, Thoku and Shakraal begin their chest pounding and war cry.
DC on the intimidate is a 13
Thoku's roll is a 23, that's 10 more than needed, so that makes it 3 full rounds that the poor bird is shaken. -2 to all d20 rolls.
Round 1 Axebeak, Initiative 23
Somehow, the axebeak understands the orcs' intent and cows its head in fear. Move you pathetic beast! Attack! Its mistress throws a rock at its head and the bird snarls at its owner. But, it has been thoroughly broken by its mistress and turns back to Grell and Fleshripper. Its talons kick at the earth and it charges at Grell.
charge attack: 1d20 + 2 - 2 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 - 2 + 2 = 21 AC 18 HIT!
charge damage: 1d6 ⇒ 6
attempts to trip....
CMD is 15 +4 (four legs) = 19 tripped!
The bird grabs a hold of Grell's neck and pulls. The warcat howls in pain as the axebeak pins Kern's beast to the ground, one talon on it's chest.
Ok, so that was rough, but this is beatable! Also, everyone can act before round 2
Choot Othul |
Choot cheers on the beasts of his comrades but has little skill to assist in these games.
Kern Dead-eye |
Grells howls threateningly and attempts to stand, provoking an AOO from the stupid bird.
He then claws at the bird.
bite: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22
damage: 1d4 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
Then Kern pulls out a small wooden box with a paddle-shaped top on it. He scratches the paddle across the main part of the box, creating a strange skwawking sound, hoping to confuse the axebeak with an axebeak mating call.
Handle Animal: 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 4 + 2 = 17
Hakak & Fleshripper |
Hakak raised his arms high above his head and gave his loudest bellow, hoping to shake the axebeak.
Terrible choice, but it's what he'd do.
Intimidate: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (8) - 2 = 6
Fleshripper set into the axebeak with wild abandon, teeth gnashing.
Charging
Charging bite: 1d20 + 5 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 5 + 1 = 8
Choot Othul |
As long as it is not considered interference I am fine with it, don't want any DQ's!
Choot Othul |
Choot tosses a rock at the Fleshripper's foe jeering at it.
Ranged Attack 1d20 ⇒ 20
Kraq Skysplitter |
So there is no save for the Message spell, I was thinking to use it on the opponent and try and confuse the commands his handler is giving the animal, would that work for an aid or something?
Dragonofashandflame |
Choot Othul: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6

Thoku Blood Drinker: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 1 = 19
Axebeak: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! Thoku's drumbeat carries across the arena. His fists on chest make a great war-noise to the Thunderer. Others around him take up beat, stomping their feet or pounding fist to chest. The axebeak's owner looks around and falters in her commands to her beast. But, still she rallies and orders her bird to strike at Grell once more.
However, the Skyplitter is ready for her! He speaks with Selzarian's smoke, and the Fire God's power sends sparks into the bird's ears. Just as Hakak raises his fists into the air. He gives a great bellow, but his words, and those spoken by the spell-crafter are lost in the drumming of the audience.
DC 15 will save: 1d20 + 0 - 2 ⇒ (20) + 0 - 2 = 18
Meanwhile, Shakraal picks up a mass of dried dung with her dark spiked gauntlet. The wyrdspeaker hurls the dung at the axebeak, and the lump slams int he bird's eye. The beastmaster's slave squawks in fury and scrapes its face against the ground, trying to clear its vision.
it's thoroughly distracted from the dung in its eye, which gives it a -2 to AC
AoO: 1d20 + 1 - 2 ⇒ (12) + 1 - 2 = 11
nope
It completely ignores Kern's beast as mighty Grell rises to its feat and savages the bird with fang and claw! its teeth sink into the bird's flesh and feathers fly in the air as Grell feasts on the bird's flesh.
Kern pulls out a small wooden box with a paddle-shaped top on it. He scratches the paddle across the main part of the box, creating a strange skwawking sound, hoping to confuse the axebeak with an axebeak mating call.
DC 17: 1d20 + 0 - 2 ⇒ (5) + 0 - 2 = 3
yup
-2 to AC
Half-blinded, the axebeaks looks up from the ground, it's wings and tail feathers spreading out in a proud display. The bird squawks again, this time guttural and fierce, it struts int he dirt, proud and ready for mating!
The bird is a clear target for the slave of Zagresh! The voice of the Destroyer hurls a rock at the bird, clubbing it soundly on its blinded face. The bird is truly weak, and cannot hope to stand up to the newly-formed tribe! It reels, shaking its head to clear it.
It is this moment when Fleshripper attacks.
Hakak's beast chargesthe bird, ripping at it's neck with its maw.
his attack is 10 (he forgot the charge bonus)
Axebeak's net AC is 9 that's a hit
Damage: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
The dinosaur's fangs sink deep into the bird's neck. The thing gives plaintive, agonized look at its mistress and squawks pathetically as it gasps for air. Blood fountains about Fleshripper's maw, staining the sands in honor to the Slave Lord. It gasps once more, and dies. The audience roars in triumph and victory and Lanishra is honored with this sacrifice.
The voice of the Tyrant Lord stalks across the muddied soil, flail in hand. Behind him, four naked dwarves crawl through the muddied soil of the pit like dogs; they bark and growl at Fleshripper and Grell, and even lick their lips at the corpse of the axebeak. When Lanishra's mouth stops, the dwarves sit on their haunches at his heels, thick, spiked iron collars have been welded about their necks. The shaman stands before the slain axebeak and lifts his flail into the air.
Lanishra is honored by this sacrifice! These beasts have been well trained and bound to the will of their masters! They fought well, and offered life-water to the Slave Lord! This beast, He gestures to the slain axebeak, is bound in the Slave Lord's chains forever! The dwarves dart forward and sink their teeth and hands into the bird's tattered remains. They gnaw and tear at flesh until one roars in triumph, and lifts the bird's large heart in one bloodied fist. Then, the four slaves lope back to the shaman and hold the heart up for him. He takes it one hand and holds it aloft as the heart bursts into flames. His hand is engulfed in fire, but he does not let on that he feels pain. Warriors! Come and pay bloodprice! The axebeak's mistress steps forward, a dark look fills her red eyes. She kneels and offers a falchion and a suit of hide armor.
total penalty to AC: -4
total penalty to attack: -2
Damage: 12 = dead
Kern and Hakak each win 50 gp, and have their choice of a falchion and a suit of hide armor. They can Kern and Hakak win +4 Fame each. The others gain +2 fame for being associated with the two warriors.
Hakak & Fleshripper |
Hahak strode up to take his prize, ignoring the crowd. He ignored the hide and blade and took only the purse of gold.
"Hear me," he said to the defeated. "The axebeast is strong. It can only be made weak. Beasts know nothing of the yellow gold. It does not fill their bellies or warm their flesh. You must know them as they know themselves or you take the might from them. I will not take from you things of war, with which you show strength. Think not of the yellow gold, but of thews, and your next beast will be stronger."
Kern Dead-eye |
Kern will claim the falchion and his share of gold.
"Your beast fought well, mistress. You honor us with its training. I will sink this falchion into the enemies of our people."
Kern was impressed with the axebeak's performance, and may take one as a secondary companion later on. Yay Packmaster! LOL
Choot Othul |
"Another victory. We are smiled upon by Zagresh. It is timefor the Trial of Whispers. Come Tribemates, I seek more honor in our name and the name of Zagresh!"
Thoku the Bloodied One |
"yes well will honor all the gods come to victory and glory "

The female spits in Hakak's eye, but hands him the gold. Take it, and may Zagresh take you!
Trial of Whispers tomorrow
Shakraal Kringsdaughter |
Can I get in on some payback for the spitter? Or would the Flood Truce preclude such activity?
Choot Othul |
Choot cackles in the female's face and brandishes his holy symbol at her, "He is a servant of Zagresh you fool. Tread carefully lest you join my pet and serve Zagresh in more direct ways, he seeks a mate..."
Kern Dead-eye |
"You will learn respect, warrior. Whether it is on the battlefield, or from your betters. Pray that it is not from our blades." Kern says to the female who spit at Hakak.

ok i think the dice gods like me intimidating rolls lol
