The Razor Coast has drawn men to madness and slaughter since the world was young. Untested souls are food for its storms, its fickle gods, its ancient spirits, and the evil predations of unfathomable creatures. No less dangerous are the men who make the coast their home and whose dark desires put most horrors to shame.

Speaking of leveling up... planning on greatly enhancing Astrianna's combat abilities at level 7. Rapid Shot and Ear-Piercing Scream will be two excellent additions to her damage.

My problem at the moment is which 3rd level spells to choose. One day Astrianna will have all 6 of these spells, but it will take a while. In terms of priority I was thinking-

Major Image
Haste
Glibness
Tiny Hut
Slow
Invisibility Sphere

the problem with invisibility is nearly every relevant person you come in contact with can see invisibility. Xander for instance had see invisibility and darkvision.

Maybe improved Initiative or Weapon Focus-Greatclub for Torgue. After getting some running around under his belt, he leans to get his bulk into position better.

Stealth and Invisibility gets harder and harder at higher levels because you start facing these things,

Tremorsense
Blindsense/Sight
Sense Heartbeat
Sense Blood
As well as the usual magic stuff like Detect Inviso/Inviso Purge/Arcane Sight

Haste and Slow most definitely.

You don't want your top choice to be something that has saves against.

Also please look into Arcane Concordance and put it on your list. :)

Good point, I agree. Tiny Hut is just something Astrianna would have... on top of that, it provides Total Concealment to those inside. Archer heaven!

Good Hope (Stacks with inspire courage (competence) because it's a morale bonus, yay)

Also just read about this beauty- Phantom Steed

For Embri- Arcane Concordance I don't like how it's a 10-foot radius. I also wish empower was one of the metamagic feats it could provide.

When I first started looking into pbp, I read that and knew this was for me. It's a wonderful post and I embraced its ideas fully.

We don't suffer too much because Baldwin is not only an incredible GM but also posts so frequently, so things are a little different than the norm here. A lot more NPC interaction.

Painlord has some excellent how-to posts on the board. Everyone would benefit by ready a couple.

It's interesting when you read his posts how many of those items we all (this group) do naturally. It probably seems like common sense to us, but in the pbp world it's not common sense at all. I've been pretty fortunate in the my games with the player selections. Although there is always some attrition, but that does happens. As a GM I can't stress enough my key to player selection: Read the applicant's posting history. It means a lot more than the actual character submitted at least in my eyes. If a player has gaps in posting in other games, he'll have gaps in posting in my game; if the player only rolls attack dice in other games, he'll only roll attack dice in my game. That being said, I always like to give a relatively new player a chance by holding at least one spot for them.

Oh yeah it's going to be reeeeal rough. I went three years ago and it was in Orlando, Florida. It was a blast, spent the mornings in conference, the afternoon at Orlando Studios, and the night at the pool.

There is a lot of panhandling and scams run on the tourists. That is common one a young kid will play to win money off you.

Sanctuary would fade the first time you him your opponent though.

Though if you knew the alignment of your opponent, you could cast a protection from good/evil/lawful/chaotic/whatever spell on yourself too.

Shield of faith is the same type so I can't use them both. Forgot about that caveat with Sanctuary. If they win init it means less likely to hit though.

Of course, bystanders in the crowd can dispel magic especially if their favorite person is losing. The book discusses that but since nobody has entered the contests in the two times we have visited this Skull, I haven't added that component - yet.

True, it will def make it less likely they will be able to get in the first blow.

With so many spells going it wouldn't make too much of a difference. They would only get the highest level spell which is greater magic. That is a -2 to attack and damage but that is a small price to pay. I need to find some motivation to do this.
