The adventurers head towards the light. A gigantic chamber emerges from the darkness, sloping upward between two wide ledges on which loom statues of angular faces, strong brows, and fixed jawlines. Above, the ceiling opens up to the blue sky, sheltered from the howling wind that whips between the crags above. The ramp leads up in tiers, finally coming to an end before an immense stone throne. A stone giant sits upon the throne, attended by a stone giant bodyguard. The one on the throne sighs and waves and arm wearily towards the adventurers, and the other steps forward.
Giant:
Sefayll Valerian |
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (17) + 19 = 36
Face hidden behind her mask, Sefayll tries to concentrate on the two giants - as well as any potentially hidden allies, they all look so like their namesake - hoping to anticipate their plans with some foreknowledge.

Giant (in reply to Sefayll):
The giant on the throne begins to cast a spell.
Roll initiative. Map to follow. For your information, the giant on the throne wears no armour. The other one looks like a fairly standard stone giant warrior.
Sorry for being a bit quiet - things to do at home and at work when I came back from holiday.
Sefayll Valerian |
"He referred to his master. I assume that could be Mokmurian, but this problem might go deeper than we realize if someone is pulling puppet strings for the stone giants to some unknown end. I suggest we not continue standing in a small group."
Initiative: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 13
How far away is he, as the ray flies, so to speak?
She continues concentrating on the giants. I am assuming that there is no time to take actions at the moment. If she can get a move action, she will shift to the right as far as possible.

The layout is that this is a long chamber open to the sky. A path runs down the middle which is below the level of the sides. The path moves up gradually by a series of ledges until it reaches, at the far end, the level of the sides and the far end section where the throne is. Each level is denoted by a different colour, getting lighter as the level rises. The edges between the colours are the ledges - each is about 5' high and can be jumped, climbed, flown over or whatever. Statues line the sides of the room - think Easter Island.
You are all somewhere on the path at the lowest level.

Will save for wizard o/s.
Getting to Q15 requires Alwyn to climb a 15' cliff. I assume he doesn't do that, please give me an alternative location. Also, getting over the lip of the ledges as they go upwards on the main thoroughfare up the middle will require skill checks - they are 5' high. As a comment, Dravite will struggle to target anyone while standing there.
The giant bodyguard hurls a couple of boulders at Alwyn.
Rock 1 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (12) + 11 = 23 to hit, damage 1d8 + 12 ⇒ (1) + 12 = 13
Rock 2 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12 to hit, damage 1d8 + 12 ⇒ (1) + 12 = 13
Dravite.

Time to try something new. Sefayll's Irresistible Demand class ability allows her to attempt to dominate a creature with HD equal to or less than hers. Is there a reasonable way for her to judge the power level of the warrior? If it's obvious that his HD are too high, she won't waste the use, but if it's possible that she can control him, she will attempt it. Will DC 20 to negate, command him to attack the wizard. If it's obvious that she cannot affect him, she will continue to attempt to read their minds.
Sefayll Valerian |
Yes, having heard the warriors have a plan, she will continue concentration. I think this would be the second round.
Hudak |
Ogre self bow
1d20 + 10 ⇒ (20) + 10 = 30 -2 size, -2 range; allready calc'd in to hit.
damage
2d6 + 7 ⇒ (5, 1) + 7 = 13
on the giant wizard.
crit confirm
1d20 + 10 ⇒ (5) + 10 = 15
damage x3 is it?
it is for long bow...
so another 2d6 + 14 ⇒ (6, 4) + 14 = 24 damage.

Sorry for the delay - really had trouble getting my head round my games at the moment. I'm a bit distracted by life at the moment - I'm changing jobs, I've got work to complete, I'm socialising with leaving do's and the like (and then when I'm home my wife wants to have "quality time" which also restricts my posting - huh, women, eh?), and I need to sort out the garden as parts of it are a complete mess. But I've decided to get a grip.
The giant casts his spell.
Hudak, Will save DC 17. If you fail:
School necromancy; Level bard 2, cleric 3, sorcerer/wizard 2
Casting Time 1 standard action
Components V
Range medium (100 ft. + 10 ft./level)
Target one living creature
Duration permanent (D)
Saving Throw Fortitude negates; Spell Resistance yes
You call upon the powers of unlife to render the subject blinded or deafened, as you choose.
The giant uses the blinding version.
Alwyn.
Aubrey the Demented/Malformed |
Giant warrior 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8
Giant wizard 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (20) + 12 = 32
The giant warrior roars in pain and staggers about, clearly unable to see. But the wizard on the throne snarls and stares at Alwyn with bloodshot eyes.
The warrior will spend this round getting used to his disability.
Dravite.
Vattmona |
Having reached his position, Dravite starts firing at the giant wizard.
No move. He's firing on the spellcaster using Deadly Aim and Multishot.
Attack 1 (w/Multishot): 11+9+4(favoured enemy)+1(Big Game Hunter feat)+2(Giant Bane bow)-2(Deadly Aim)=AC 25, damage 2d8+6+8(Favoured enemy)+4(Big Game Hunter)+8(Deadly Aim)+4d6(Giant Bane bow)=11+6+8+4+8+14=51.
Atttack 2: 12+4+4+1+2-2=AC 21, damage 1d8+3+4+2+4+2d6=4+3+4+2+4+6=23.
Sefayll, then Camlo.
Sefayll Valerian |
Crouching down to make herself a smaller target behind the risers, Sefayll continues concentrating on the thoughts of the giants. Assuming she never detected a third set of thoughts, she will focus on the wizard to try to anticipate his planning.
