Argor grits his teeth as he feels an enchantment begin to overwhelm him. No! I will not be subdued to another's magics. I am Argor Constantine. I am not going to be bent to another's will again!

After the initial wave passes, he feels himself overpower the magic, and immediately begins looking about for the assailant. Arctyryx takes roost on a bookcase in the corner as Argor floats into the chamber invisibly. When he thinks he has pinpointed the location of their quarry, he whispers his own incantation and removes some butter from his component pouch, and sends a shimmering field onto the floor of that area. DC: 18

The elementals, meanwhile, begin acting strangely under the effects of the magics at play. One looks around confusedly, while another slams its own fist into its own head. The third turns and takes a powerful swing at Thrassk, but misses the well armored and well trained warrior.

Cladissa's spell goes off and outlines the form of the undead spellcaster floating near the ceiling. It clutches at its eyes.

You can all now tell which square it's in, but it's still invisible. So that means 50% miss chance etc, you just automatically pinpoint its square. It is 30' off the ground, near the ceiling.

Round 1

As Nyugusk enters the room he feels a wave of confusion wash over him but for the moment he keeps hold of his senses. He steps into the center of the room and readies himself to strike the undead if it appears.

Cladissa's ears twitch in the direction of the spell being cast; listening for a clue to the location of the undead within the room. Then she chants quickly and throws a bit of mica in the air. Ten feet away from Nyug in the far end of the room, a cloud of glowing particles burst forth, outlining the invisible creature and blinding it. It's invisible, glittery form can be seen floating near the ceiling.

Argor grits his teeth as he feels an enchantment begin to overwhelm him. No! I will not be subdued to another's magics. I am Argor Constantine. I am not going to be bent to another's will again!

Hrim calls for Count Ranalc fiery blessing and sneaks into the room.

Thrassk stands there babbling incoherently.

The undead mage chants another spell, and this time a beam of black energy shoots from its finger aimed at Nyugusk. The ray strikes the transmogrified alchemist and drains a portion of his life force, weakening him. The undead cackles madly and flies back into the upper corner of the room.

Thrassk, momentarily coming to his senses, finds himself a danger to his friends. To avoid hurting them, he runs down the rubble-stairs to the lower level. "I'll come back when my mind clears," he says.

Round 5

Hrim takes a deep and focuses Count Ranalc's destruction on the undead in Nyug's grasp. He finally sinks his final flaming arrow into the corpse.

The one elemental continues its ramblings about a potato rebellion, while the other sends a powerful jab towards the undead creature.

Argor begins a new chant, removing a few hairs from his component pouch with one hand and a scroll from his hip with the other. The hairs burst into red flame as they evaporate into an arcane haze. Argor says, "Arctyryx, bestow this magic upon Mr. Newblossom, now!"

Arctyryx gulps and takes flight anxiously, diving down to behind the behemoth and tapping him on the shoulder with his talon. Nyugusk suddenly feels his muscles ripple with even more strength.

Cladissa lets out an agitated yowl and her slitted pupils narrow as she sees the undead use one of her hexes against Nyugusk. With a hiss, she targets the undead with Misfortune again and keeps her storm cloud on it.

The undead continues cackling madly as it tries to headbutt Nyugusk.

The blue elemental roars out in its own language "POTATO!!! and bashes itself in the head. This throws the other one into a similar babbling rant about the imminent potato rebellion.

Arctyryx flies up and takes roost on Argor's shoulder, as the mage again begins circling his hands and summoning up arcane energy, which he sends soaring through the air and into the pinned creature. "Quick, someone restrain and gag the thing while Mr. Newblossom has it pinned down!" he calls out.

Can he actually attack when pinned? I didn't think that was one of the actions he could take.

Cladissa shakes her head in frustration that the thing has thrown off her hexes. She decides to lend Nyugusk Fortune to counter the creature's own hex.

Ahh, I think Cladissa's right, but I'll go with it as written for now.

Nyugusk winces as he feels the life force sucked out of him but continues with his plan. He attempts to tie up the walking corpse but the best he's able to do is continue pinning it to the ground.

No sure on the pinned thing. I need to research it more.

Edit: I guess you are right, though it doesn't read that way to me in the condition. Why don't they just say "A pinned creature can ONLY take mental actions" or something more clear? Anyway, he doesn't head butt you then. He tries to escape.

Nyugusk, what are you tying it up with? How does drawing a rope in the middle of a grapple work? This seems fishy to me but I don't know why.

Hrumph! Argor, what good is a wizard who can't conjure a rope?
In that case...consider my failed roll a failed attempt to deal damage to him.

Nyugusk continues to pin the walking corpse. He tries to dig a pincer into it's dessicated gut but the corpse squirms away.

He hollers, "Anyone have some rope to tie this thing up? If not..lets just keep hitting it in the face."

It should be quite high. Large size, bulls strength, and multiple limbs. It all should equal a really, really high CMD.

Cladissa wrings her hands in frustration. Her storm cloud rains its last lightning on the undead, but it wouldn't last much longer and her glitterdust had faded from the undead, leaving her to wonder how powerful its invisibility spell was.

She targets Hrimnagel with Fortune, then cackles to keep Nyugusk's Fortune running and extend Hrim's good luck further.

I'm trying to determine how high. If he needs more than a 20 to escape we can call this combat here. The undead is taking a -4 to dex from being pinned, so his CMB is only +8.
