WOOD DRAKE SIGHTED!
Rumors of a dragon haunting the southern Narlmarches are probably (hopefully) overstated. The evidence indicates that the source of the rumors is merely a forest drake. In any event, it’s killing folks and needs to be put down. One lone eye witness who lived long enough to return with the tale described it as a lumbering beast with wood and leaves for hide. A reward has been offered by House Kalnath.

IN SEARCH OF TROLL BLOOD!
Upon belief and intent, Myrania the Alchemist seeks Troll's Blood for testing as a catalyst in creation of healing potions. A reward, in potions of the choice of the bringer of this rare substance, will be given by Myrania within 30 days of delivery of the blood. At least one wineskin full of troll's blood required for reward.

ANIMAL ATTACKS! HOWLS OF MADNESS?
Rumor of a wolf like creature have long been heard of in the Kamelands. Stories vary as to whether it is a worg, a dire wolf, or something worse. Bandits and hunters have, for years, told of it's madness inducing howls and blood lust. With the increase of citizens into the Greenbelt, it is necessary to root out this beast to make the citizens safe. A reward for the creature's head is offered by House Malvanna.

SHAMBLING SAP NEEDED!
Myrania the Alchemist requires one small cask of shambling mound sap. This will require a fully grown shambling mound to supply. While the shambling mounds are common in Hecktongue Slough, they are rarer in the Greenbelt. A reward of gold and curative potions is offered for the first group to return with a cask of sap.

We don't actually have that much information on Varn, sadly. It might be that either one of our old spymasters managed to find something out- but they are sadly not with us at the moment (well...).

As for his previous exploits, Varn gathered the local centaur tribes for a parley then simply slaughtered them. The remaining centaurs wasn't all too thrilled about that, so they are now somewhat hostile towards us humans ... :P

We were doing a quick exploration sweep to survey the last patches of kingdom when we were sidetracked by this side-quest.

Most likely, we should probably complete our sweep and return home so that we can take care of our administrative duties : )

(And let those with other side-quests turn them in - and introduce Gorruum and Ikit to our home. Should be fun :P)

I'd say splitting up sounds best - in game it sounds like we should hurry up and get our thing straight and out of game it can be sorta messy with so many in such a large pile .P

If I might suggest, I'd suggest pairing people up based on overall posting rate? That way the slower posters are more comfortable with a slower rate, and the high volume posters are also comfortable? I'd leave it up to you guys which group you fall into, but it might be a good way to divide it up?

Are you going to continue with the exploration? And if so, what routes is each group taking?

I tried to divide it up primarily on posting rate and secondarily on roles. I think it's pretty well done. The kingdom map has been updated with the desired routes. I wanted to push a bit east and west while also giving some breathing room around our second city to be at the Stag Lord's keep.

Also, to start the discussion, I think we'll need to figure out our leadership roles. We currently have open the following (Magister, Royal Enforcer, Spymaster and Warden). I think Ikit is a natural shoe-in for Magister, though he may have to fight Fhârn off with a stick. Gorruum makes a natural Warden, though I'm not sure it makes as much story sense. He could also be a Royal Enforcer. Corwen and Natalie both make sense as Spymasters. We could also potentially have an opening in the Diplomat position, if Lanya (as NPC) becomes consort or otherwise abdicates her role. Thoughts?

Looks like a good split to me. I'd lean a little toward Warden for Gorruum, at least based on the description. Of course, he could be a very intimidating Enforcer.

I did a little more messing around and made a spreadsheet as a result. I think it outlines what the roles should be fairly well. I removed Lanya as a Diplomat and gave it to Felicia. This frees the Councilor position for Corwen and Natalie can be Spymaster. Theoretically Lanya may then be the Consort, but that will depend on what MDT and I decide as far as character development goes. We'll see.

    I wouldn't mind either role, but giving a stranger access to our treasury seems foolish. The only drawback I can see about staying Treasurer is that I eventually might have to spend my precious skill points on Profession (Merchant), but a properly crafted Headband might solve that : )

    I do suggest that we call the Magister role 'Court Alchemist' or something, atleast IC, if/when Ikit takes it up !:)

    Corwen would be quite happy as the Royal Enforcer if that makes anything easier... Having his alignment as N was intended to give him the opportunity to do the dirty work for the kingdom.

    Not having played KM before, is there somewhere online I can look to get an idea of how those roles work?

    Also, just to echo Natalie above,what are the chances of retraining our rogues to use the Unchained rules? I'd happily purchase the pdf just to be able to do that :)

    Making a posting in all games I'm running and playing in.

    For those who have noticed that the last 3-4 weeks I've been spotty and somewhat irritable, I apologize. There's a lot of work things going on, and also some RL things going on. As of this morning, the surgeons confirmed my wife needs a fairly serious operation, which is now scheduled for the end of the month.

    I will continue to be here, but, especially toward the end of May, I'm likely to be very very spotty and cranky. Sorry in advance. Please bear with me.

    If things get to the point where I need to place things on hold, I'll let you know, but I don't think it'll get there (assuming nothing bad happens).

    Wife's surgery got moved back a day (scheduling issues in OR). Surgery was completed last night, went smoothly, doctor very pleased with himself. :) Wife awake and says even with the pain from the surgery it's a night and day difference in how she felt before, so good news on that front. I'm afraid I'll be busy again today, but hopefully will be able to get all games caught up and going again by end of week.
